The Hotel is, as a lot of reviewers have said, a little tired. It could do with an update. That said the room was clean and the room prices were very competitive. The bar prices are fairly reasonable. We stayed in a junior suite on the second floor away from the escalator. The room was very spacious and quiet. Would recommend paying a small amount for the upgrade to the junior suite if you can.

Although a nice hotel the bedroom let it down. Shabby furniture. Unable to close heavy curtains as hanging off rail. Note pad left to write on but no pen or pencil. Wall paper coming away in different places. No bottled water or biscuits. Not up to 4 star standard more an average 3 star. The rest of the hotel was ok and breakfast was very good. Staff I must say were excellent.

I have been staying at this hotel for many years now and the furnishings are being up dated nicely. The best thing about this hotel has always been the team of staff in all departments. Even if the staff members change the ethos of the team remains guest orientated. Great when you are away from home and family.

We stayed one night at this hotel and was disappointed at the state of the place. The check in was fast and efficient, and the staff friendly. The hotel itself was in dire need of renovating to bring it up to the expectations of a Hilton. Our room although clean was rather dull. We were attending wedding reception at this hotel so chose to stay overnight, the wedding reception was excellent, it was externally catered. I cannot see ourselves staying here again.

Staff are friendly however the hotel is a dump and a disgrace to hold the Hilton name. Rooms are in an appalling condition. Beds old and noisy with badly damaged and very old furniture. Room rate ok but nowhere near value when the poor state of repair is taken into account.

We had a one night stay here as we had a two day pass at chessington. The staff were exceptionally friendly especially to my children, giving them activity packs, offering sweets and cookies, balloons and attention. We had two adjoining rooms, both were clean and functional. There was a wedding going on the day of our stay and although we could hear the music it didn't cause us any cause for concern. We stayed in the Hilton London Croydon for 6 nights and got a very good room rate. I was at first disappointed when I found out that the hotel does not have an Executive Lounge - however, the Front Office Manager Dariusz did his best to make our stay memorable. We received really good service and any problems were dealt with in a very professional manner immediately. The hotel also does its best to recognise HHonors status despite not having a lounge. I am sure the hotel will be better soon but not being made aware that it was in the process of renovation made the stay disappointing. Some areas were fine but others less so and clearly warnings needed to be made. Dog owners will find it tolerant of dogs but not friendly as public areas are off limits to dogs. Staff were sympathetic but rules are rules. This hotel has large open areas surrounding it for walking. Still worth staying though if you are aware of the limitations.

I stayed for one night only for business and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Did not dine here but had breakfast, very good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. Nice large room and it was quite, my only negative comment is the lack of power sockets available with only one plug within reach of the desk in my room and the lamp was plugged into that. The hotel is not in central Croydon, not a bad location, but super inconvenient if you don't have a car. The hotel is going through some renovations right now, my guess is that they finally figured it out, they are not up to Hilton standards, they are not even to Hampton standards, rooms are old and small, the internet in the rooms is almost non existent, it does work well in the lobby area. All staff were superb. Room extremely comfortable. Slight problem with electric plugs on the wall which were inaccessible without moving a heavy desk. Breakfast among the best I have experienced in hotels. Only " discomfort" was caused by a wedding party, a number of the guests being very noisy in the bar. Strange place to review as I felt quite mixed about the whole experience. Felt that I was miss sold as the image on the website looked like the place was modern but the reality was that this is a tired venue. The lift took an age to rise to the 1st floor, the carpets, room furniture and bathrooms were in need of replacing. In contrast the staff were helpful and friendly. Wouldn't go there again.
