We have stayed several times in this welcoming pub and have got to know its friendly staff who take every trouble to make you feel at home. The accommodation is unsophisticated but comfortable and very reasonably priced. Hearty meals are served in the bar/restaurant area with very generous portions and freshly prepared food. People always have time to talk to you here. As a base for walking in the glorious south Somerset countryside this village is ideal, and itâ??s only short drive to the D... Read more

A pub that can be easily missed. Passing up through the village, the pub is on the left opposite the turning to the church. The Manor Arms was completely empty at 1300 on Wednesday and it took several knocks on the bar to rouse the landlady and her assistant. They were both delightful, serving us drinks and fairly standard pub fare with good humour and charm. The lady preparing food was fully conversant with food allergies and offered a simple alternative to suit my gluten intolerance. Noth... Read more

A friend and I went here for an evening mal and a catch up. We both chose one of the two vegetarian meals on offer. A very embarrassed young man returned to our table to apologise that there was none left, so we had the other choice which was delicious. He knocked the price of our drinks off our total bill as a gesture of goodwill. Good choice of other meals and reasonably priced.

Weren't planning for the Manor but other pub was closed so chose an old favourite and glad that we did! It was really lovely food - chose the seafood lasagne and steak and ale pie and were not disappointed. landlord very welcoming - great beer from St Austell - we'll be back - lovely fire

We arrived and were very pleased to be able to get something to eat straight away before getting ready to go to a wedding nearby. Room was fine for an overnight stay just don't expect the Ritz! Staff all friendly and we had a good full English before leaving.

We stayed here for a local wedding. It was only £60 for the night and did the job, but the curtains in our room were completely see through, so got woken pretty early with the sunlight through the window. Bit budget/greasy fry up for breaky, but was very nicely served by nice friendly staff. Did the job.

We were told that the pub was closed at 2pm so we tried to arrive before then - managed to get there at about 1.55pm. they got us booked in & showed us to our very cosy room in the Hayloft. Went out for the day & back later for a couple of drinks in the pub. Connor (behind bar) was very polite, friendly & helpful. They were very busy with a large party but he was still there every time we needed a refill. Very comfy beds & a good nights sleep. No noise was heard from customers leaving the pub e... Read more

Stayed overnight on our way to Bridport. Booked a room at the Manor Arms as it was close to our destination. Arrived late as we got held up in traffic so couldn't check-in until 6pm. Not a problem as we didn't have too long to wait. Was greeted by Di, the chef, who was lovely. Told us all we needed to know and reserved us a table for dinner that night. Our room was above the bar. Very cosy. The downside was the road noise and the door to the pub being right below could be heard every time it was... Read more

We have stayed here several times over the last 3 years as they allow dogs to stay in one of the rooms, and the staff love dogs. The staff could not be more helpful, they are such a friendly hard working group of people. The cooked english breakfast with cereals and juice is very filling and the evening meals are always nice. The only down side is that this is a very old establishment so the rooms are small and not modern, but they are always clean and tidy whenever we have stayed, and we thin... Read more
