This is typical of this type of hotel. I was staying here on business as it was close for my early morning meeting the next day. On the plus side: The staff were very helpful; the room was clean and tidy; the shower was very good and the free Wi-Fi was excellent. On the negative side: There was a very odd smell in the bathroom. I eventually traced it to the sink where there was an overpowering smell of stagnant water. It obviously needed a thorough clean. Also, the breakfast left a lot to be ... Read more

The room was clean, well designed and comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful. We needed to extend our stay a couple of times - no problem at all. Breakfast included, good broadband and coffee and tea on-tap throughout the day. Located close to Gatwick and the centre of Crawley with a large free car park.

Stayed here for one night having landed very late at Gatwick. Easy to find with ample parking. No problem checking in, even though it was after one o'clock in the morning. Bedroom was spotlessly clean with very comfy bed. Next morning however I was disappointed by the average to poor breakfast. The restaurant was like an American diner. The croissants tasted stale and the cooked breakfast was limited.

Stayed here as a much more reasonable option than in Brighton itself. Wedding in Brighton at 2pm. Hotels only 25 mins away. Can't go wrong when you compare to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was standard - what do you expect? No negatives apart from disappointed that they ran out of porridge at 10am and there was no hash browns, other than that, it was fine. Check in easy and room adequate. Love the black out curtains, literally no idea if it's day or night in the mornings. Fab! Quiet, grea... Read more

Not a hotel we would choose to stay in, but as our flight at Gatwick was canceled for the night, we had no choice but to stay in this very basic , but clean hotel, the double bed was so small , and so soft was almost sure it was a waterbed, the pillows were as hard as a rock , staff were friendly when they had to cope with 180 passengers arriving at once, breakfast was Ok , the croissants were just like a roll, but at 6 am had to rush back to Airport to catch the next alternative plane, a pla... I stayed here whilst on business in the area and was generally satisfied with the hotel. It's located south of Gatwick airport, far enough away to not hear the planes and oddly in the middle of a large roundabout. It shares the roundabout with an adjacent Harvester restaurant which I didn't use. Getting in and out of the free car park was fine despite being on a roundabout! Hotel itself was clean & tidy, modern and well equipped. A small bar area and pleasant reception with very welcoming staff.... Read more

Good location near Gatwick if you have an early morning flight. Bus stop is directly opposite entrance and is just £2.30 for the 10min ride. Bus runs every 20 minutes. Standard Holiday Inn Express setup with room and breakfast included. I'm stayed in many of these in North America and there are a few litte things that are different. North American travelers should be aware that the hotel does not supply amenities save a wall mounted soap gel dispenser; while the Front Desk does offer to provide... Read more

We were very impressed with this hotel and would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay before/after their flights from Gatwick. A pleasant room with breakfast only 15mins from Gatwick. The parking bolt on for next to no money was a bonus. We used a taxi to the airport (organised via the hotel), you can use the shuttle bus but if you have a large party it's cheaper to get the taxi at £12 (daytime).

My husband and I stayed here in July 2014 while on our European tour. It was fantastic. Though this hotel is not in the heart of all the action, but it was perfect for us because we wanted a quiet location with free parking as we rented a car. The rooms were clean and we were greeted warmly by staff members. The restaurant food was tasty and reasonable. I would recommend this hotel if you prefer a chilled vacation, away from all the hustle and bustle.

Strangely the sofa bed was made up when we got to the room so we had to put that away (room was booked for two people). The mattress was in dire need of replacing-you could feel every spring. Probably the worst hotel bed I've ever slept in. Breakfast was awful. There was a queue for a slow toaster which didn't really toast bread. 'Fake' scrambled eggs which taste of nothing and the worst 'croissant' I've ... Read more

Stayed here for two nights, staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast which was included in the price was also very nice. The hotel is in a great location, with a harvester next door. Close to the town centre and also to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

A year on from our first use of this hotel, we decided to use it twice in August - on the way to and then from the coast. The location remains accessible from the main roads and for the town centre. Our arrival was on both occasions greeted by the need to register the car via a touch screen - which was at best hesitant to confirm that you had entered your details and couldn't produce any receipt - and an evidently genuine apology from the reception staff for the "recently" introduced car parki... We stayed for one night using our Rewards points so only had to pay for the parking when we left it for a few days to go to the Airport. I would agree with another reviewer that the tablet they give you to register your car details is rather fiddly and we had to enter the information a few times before we got it right! The bus stop is just across the road Number 20 which goes to Gatwick South. If you need Gatwick North you will then need to change on to the No.10 bus which is free. On the way... Read more

again my favorite choice of chain as I collect the points and its so easy to book. hotel does exactly as expected and when I needed an extra room on the day got one too. My biggest gripe with any hotel is when they charge you to park, at LGW or LHR I get the reason why, but at this location parking should have been covered for the one night if you are a paying guest, I had 2 rooms, 3 people one car, spent some 160 pounds + dinner and still had to pay to park...Even when it is not your mon... We stayed here on our way back from holiday in the Maldives and en route to Guernsey. To say I was pleasantly delighted is an understatement. I was a little disappointed when my wife left it until late to book a room and this seemed like a last resort option, but the experience was quite the opposite. The rooms are a decent size and managed to fit all our 4 suitcases plus a buggy & our baby cot. The showers are modern and fitted with new plumbing. The reception experience was seamless and in fac... Read more

We stayed in the hotel before and after our holiday. The room we stayed in before we went on holiday was one of the refurbed rooms and it was lovely. Nice and clean with comfy bed. Breakfast was good but the sausages were of the horrible frozen type. We returned from holiday and was given a smaller not so nice room, far left of reception. Same sort of decor as first but the bed seemed a lot smaller. The light shade on the right side of bed was dirty and broken. Clean room though and as we had re... Read more

Stayed at this hotel and it is very typical of what to expect for a Holiday Inn Express. Atmosphere was good and there was a Harvest Restaurant in the parking lot that was good. Parking was good. Did not try the breakfast.

Knowing what I now know, this would not be my first choice of places to stay as I prepared for a flight the following day. My main gripe is the location. It's not serviceable by any airport shuttle and if you're traveling from the North Terminal, you can only get to the South Terminal and then wait for another bus to take you, free of charge, to the North (you have to pay to get to the South Terminal). I found myself on the morning commute with school children and very little room for baggage. I... Read more

Booked this one, because it had up to 8 days parking free along with the advanced booking price(£78) and as the parking would have been at least another 45 to 50 pounds,I consider this good value. Check in were polite & helpful, they also booked an early morning taxi (4am) and informed us that we could have early morning coffee & croissants for our early start. There is a Harvester close by,so that settled our evening meal, and that was very acceptable. All in all, very good value, pleased we used t... Read more

Stayed here on Thursday 15th September prior to flying out from London Gatwick. Hotel entrance and lobby is very clean and smart. The room we had was spacious tidy and had a lovely shower and bathroom. Louis (front desk) deserves a promotion!! He was happy, cheerful and organised the taxi for us to get to Gatwick North on the Friday. No complaints and would go back there again. A shopping mall is 10 minutes away if that. Three Bridges Railway Station also about 10 minutes walking.

We were booked into this hotel by a tour agent. We assumed that the hotel would be served by the airport hotel shuttle buses and the shuttle bus driver told us he did go to the hotel. Once on the bus we were told by a fellow passenger that the bus did not go near this hotel. After some hassle we eventually found out that the local public service bus, No 20 from South Terminal went to the hotel. We therefore arrived too late to catch a meal. The restaurant next to the hotel takes last orders... Read more

This hotel is in a good location for the motorways. Booked on the website- painless and hassle free. The hotel was clean and modern with a Harvester Pub in the car park, book a table as i had 1 hour wait for a table and then 45 min wait for the food to hit the table, although the food was great. I had a great night sleep in a modern room with the basic express breakfast. It was value for money but I was hit with £7 car park charge at check out- apart form that I would stay here again if need... Read more

Nice Hotel typical of a Holiday Inn. Helpful staff, clean and modern. Quite close to the town centre but be aware like most small towns everything closes at 5:30pm. Don't however be fooled by the "secure parking", it isn't, there is free access to all and everybody & despite the CCTV it's not my idea of secure if you intend leaving your car for an extended period

Used this place for a couple of nights between flights from Gatwick. We didnt arrive until 1am but the night staff were excellent and very friendly. They even printed our boarding pass for us! Hotel and room was very clean and it's perfect if you've just been on a long flight. Did not eat nearby so could not comment on that. We ventured into london from the nearby three bridges station. Was 3 mins in taxi or 10 min walk. Local taxi firm barkers are recommended if you need one (24 hrs). Breakfasr... Read more

We often use "airport" hotels when we have an early flight and need parking for more than a few days. This time we needed a family room, so booked this hotel as it seemed to tick the boxes. I really can't find anything positive about the hotel. It was an £18 (each way) taxi ride, the room was tiny, the bed was like a sack of potatoes and I honestly got no sleep. When we came to check out I would have raised the issues but the staff were no where to be seen, I appreciate it was 530am but still ... Read more

After driving round,up and down the M23/M25 and ringing the hotel for directions, we eventually found this hotel three hours after arriving in Crawley. By the time we arrived it was too late for dinner,as you eat in the Harvester across the car park, so not a good start.Room was comfortable, staff friendly and efficient, and room rate was reasonable. Breakfast was good, with plenty of variety.Parking was good. All in all, it did what we wanted.

We had been travelling all day and just wanted to drop our suitcases and find some food. We had requested 2 double beds for 2 people. We got to our room and had 1 double bed and a pull out couch. There was no extra bedding to make the pull out. Went to the front desk and requested sheets. She would not give us any sheets at the time because she said we had not specifically requested for the bed to be made. We then had to explain our sleeping situation for her to understand why 2 people would wan... Read more

Hotel was clean, beds comfortable but was given room 229 and had to move because there are generators right outside the window, which are very loud. Also, the drains in this room when you had used the shower smelt vile. Staff were very good and prompt at giving me another room. However, this was a room with an adjoining door with very noisy people on the other side. Clearly the hotel can't help that but this room also had a main ceiling light that constantly buzzed even when off. Because it's an... Read more

Stayed here overnight before a holiday abroad as it's locality to Gatwick is great. We arrived and checked in and even though I was rude (interrupting all the time - not obnoxious - I was tired and I did apologise) the receptionist was brilliant - friendly, unphased and welcoming. We went to our room and it is as expected. Clean, bright and what you would expect from a Holiday Inn room. However, the bed was not comfy and I did not sleep that well. If I remember, I believe it sagged towards the m... Read more

A handy location, reasonably clean and comfortable, with a great shower. Spoilt by £7 a day parking, impersonal staff, bar with no friendliness and well over an inch of head on a pint of beer. Harvester across car park has better bar, but was full of children on the two nights we were there. A feature of HIE upgraded bathrooms is a toilet seat that won't stay up - must add work for the cleaners! We will look elsewhere for our next visit.

We booked this hotel by mistake thinking its near Gatwick Airport which its not we got a cab to go to the one we thought we had booked that is near the airport only to be told that they have another branch in Crawley TOWN . We mentioned this to the staff on reception who agreed that calling it Holiday inn express Gatwick is misleading as they have three branches in the same area .
