nice hotel, quite dated rooms that need updating but clean and comfy. Bar area open 24hrs which was good. staff friendly and very helpful.. breakfast is definitely worth having.. like a buffet style all you can eat and was really lovely.. pleanty of choice.. taxi into chester centre about £6 and only takes about ten mins. we paid £20 extra for late check out which is 6pm we thought that was exellent!

We stayed at this hotel only got one night but were satisfied. Two couples on a leisure trip, the hotel was clean, good location, about 40 mins walk in Chester or a 10 min taxi ride. Good selection of beer, nice breakfast. The staff are helpful and curtious. We would stay here again.

We Stayed at The Mercure Abotts Well for a long weekend break, visit probably what is England's finest zoo, and just generally chill. From check in to check out every part of our stay was faultless, the staff all friendly, cheerful, and helpfull, and the food great - we had a couple of breakfasts and a couple of early dinners. The pool is good for swimming and also has a baby pool, there is a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna along with the gym, all open early till late and complementary for guests.... Read more

stayed here for two nights early may very nice stay. Hotel is very nicely situated to road links and super easy to find First night after a quite expensive pint £4:50, we decided to have evening meal at the harvester 100 yds down the road not that great and as it turned out more expensive meal than the mercure ! We ate at the mercure second night and the food was quite delicious well worth the £17 per head for two courses absolutely first class as was the fantastic buffet breakfast , pretty ... Read more

So French, no wardrobes - I can cope with that and just the hangers, though I didn't dare risk my hanging garment bag - but no bedside light!!! Too much for an insomniac bookworm . Wouldn't have been a choice except on our route there wasn't any other choice so ... We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of cooking and the location is actually quite pretty, backing onto fields on the edge of Chester. And the bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Staff were courteous and efficient.

The hotel is clean & comfortable, with some of the most helpful and friendly staff have ever come across, even if the bar staff have a propensity to disappear every so often. The food is good, especially breakfast, and I just love their take on Eton Mess. Bed was comfortable, room was not huge, but adequate. We did not try the poo, so cannot comment. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and will almost certainly return.

Good points: nice breakfast Bad points: Very dated room with chipped enamel on bath and radiator, dirty shower head, stains on shower curtain, large section of bath panel looked like it had been chewed by a rat with sharp edges, shoddy paintwork in room and very dirty window. Breakfast was £10 a head, again good value for money- excellent choice of breakfast food and good quality. Drinks at the bar were abit pricey, 2 drinks were around £10. This is not the most attractive of properties and your perceptions of this will depend entirely on how much you pay .... The rooms are not as nice as travel lodge or premier inn...which gives you a feel for it , rooms dark and stuffy and without the fan provided somewhat suffocating. Breakfast was adequate, bar area adequate ...location adequate Basically needs a multi million refurbishment

The location of the hotel is great, as it is just of the A55 and 10 mins from central Chester/Zoo. The staff are very pleasant and were nice. Our double room looked a bit old, however, we had a superking bed which was bonus. The extra space is lovely. The bed itself is not my cup of tea. Chose this hotel as a birthday present for my girlfriend and spent the weekend in Chester. Couldn't really fault the location, I drove down from Wigan and it couldn't of been a much easier drive, the hotel is a 2 minute walk from a park and ride which will take you directly into the centre and is only a £2 return. I booked this hotel as it was just outside Chester with free parking right outside. I waited a while to be checked in and even longer to be checked out. You get what you pay for so we weren't expecting the Ritz and therefore weren't disappointed with this budget hotel. It was clean but with dated decor and fittings. But, it was only a bed for the night not a longer stay. Breakfast a bit steep at £11 for a buffet. A big plus was the 3 minute walk to the Park And Ride, £2 return trip. I booked a suite in this hotel and that's what I got I guess. The 'top of the room' they called it (or something like that). The room itself was nice with a small piece added on with a TV and settee. The settee was very rigid and difficult to get comfy on. Great to be able to chill and watch movies whilst ordering good standard room service food. It didn't feel luxurious particularly but was ok. Some of the public areas were just a little bit tired and the gym was definitely in need of refit t... Read more

The hotel was used as a stopover from a long driving trip. As soon as I made our way to reception, I was made very welcome by the receptionist, who was very courteous and knowledgeable. The room itself was good, nice and spacious, and crucially quiet. The bed was well made, the bathroom clean, and it looked very welcoming. The TV is a fairly recent Samsung model with a custom list of TV stations. Unfortunately there was no built-in air conditioning, but one of those tall thin standalone o... Read more

Next door to park and ride for Chester, but cab only £5-6 so a comparable option for two people. We didn't have an evening meal here but menu looked nice and prices reasonable. Would r... Read more

Stayed here for one night. We checked in with little trouble then went to find the lift, there wasn't one. So all luggage was dragged up the stairs. We were met by a fusty / damp smell in the corridor. We entered the room which was perfectly clean but very tired and definitely needing refurbished. We were given towels with holes in them and false ceiling tiles were falling in including light fitting above the sink. So far mediocre. I don't mind this because it shows they are aware of you as a customer and I cannot fault the staff . the meals are fully adequate and the chefs signature dish for a starter was amazing (goats cheese fried in balls), this was a great starter however I chose a steak main meal and was so disappointed with the alleged 7oz rump steak which I have to say tasted like a mcdonal... We stayed here for one night prior to a celebration elsewhere. Our room was rather small but clean and tidy and everything was present, except perhaps that the wardrobe was replaced with a hanging rail. Most of the staff were pleasant and smiley; service in the restaurant was slow. The food was okay but I wouldn't say more and if you didn't want burgers or pizza the choice was somewhat limited. It really isn't very expensive so I'd have to say it was fair value at the price.

Booked two rooms and during this process it was easy and the other end of the phone was a great assistance. The rooms are value and the restaraunt was superb on all meals served. Located in a great spot and only a fiver to get a taxi into the heart of Chester, certainly worth it to get rid of the parking hassles. All in all very helpful staff and a great position, we would certainly return sholud the opportunity arise.

Booked the cheapest available room here online as a very last minute thing. Although the room was clean and tidy it was extremely small and basic, very noisy mid-afternoon from other guests walking along the creaky floorboards and so we asked to move rooms. Being a bank holiday I knew this was a lot to ask but the staff managed to find us a room with a £20 surcharge. My advice to anyone staying here? Just pay a bit more for a decent room!! Breakfast was great, tad on the expensive side. Didn't get much sleep here though, the walls are paper thin and it's a bit of a party hotel. Breakfast to your room is only £5 more though not sure if that's per room or per person (nice breakfast).
