We love this hotel but this was our first time back since the new reception had been refurbished and as expected we was not dissapointed. I had informed the hotel it was my partners birthday and they had left a birthday card for her as well as complimentary robes and slippers. We stayed in a recently refurbished executive room which is very modern with tasteful decor and some very nice touches with the lighting and controls in the bathroom for the bath and shower. I booked to stay here for my Mums 60th birthday with my two sisters as a girls spa and dining stay. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. The lady at concierge had only been in the job 6 weeks and she was brilliant at her job - very welcoming, informative, enthusiastic and probably one of the nicest check ins we have ever experienced (it's such a shame we didn't get her name, but she was blonde, probably in her 50s and was on the desk the afternoon of Thursday 19th May). We stayed here to celebrate both our birthdays, we were slightly worried as there were two weddings on during our stay, but they had put us well away so we were not at all disturbed. The room was beautiful, very spacious with all the mod cons. The staff were lovely, especially in the brasserie restaurant. Breakfast was fab, probably the best we have had in a very long time. Location is great to get to Chester, about 10 minute drive. Could not fault the hotel, we loved our visit and will definit... Read more

My Husband and I visited the Grosvenor Pulford from Friday 20th May to Sunday 22nd May for my 30th birthday. The hotel is lovely, set in lovely grounds and is very well presented. The staff were excellent and cannot be faulted. Due to a dodgey sat nav we managed to take a wrong turning on the way there and ended up in Chester centre but a very patient staff member managed to talk us through how to get there. My son and his fiancée got married on 20th may. My husband and I had the most fabulous stay at your hotel and the staff you employ certainly know the meaning of hospitality. From the reception, to the restaurant, the bar and pub food it was all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. As for a wedding venue you couldn't have asked for more, again the staff were there for anything that we asked for with efficiency and eagerness I have never witnessed before. No problems booking in, the room(exec double) was clean, bed firm, heating OK, over looking the breakfast room, the bar has a great selection of food and drink at reasonable cost, spa was again clean and the pool is a good size for a hotel and spa. Excellent food at Nelson's bar on most occasions I have been here. There have been a couple of mishaps which have been quickly rectified and the service is always brilliant. Generous portion sizes never fail to impress and they are always happy to let me take a doggy bag home. The burgers and onion rings are second to none!

Stayed with my family as part of a shopping weekend. From the start of our stay staff were friendly and helpful. I checked we had 2 quiet rooms as several reviews mentioned noise and indeed on checking out there was a guest complaining of excessive noise but we had no such issues luckily. We ate at Ciro's Brasserie- lovely food and good service. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too.

This was the second visit my wife and I had this year and, as usual, the spa treatments were first class and very relaxing. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the pool area. The Jacuzzi was broken and the whole area looks very tired with holes in the wall, cracks in the ceiling and paint peeling everywhere. At lunch I informed the waiting staff of my wife's nut allergy but she was served a main course which contained nuts and it was only through her vigilance that a potentially serious ... Read more

We enjoyed a super visit to the spa for a day of luxurious pampering- and it didn't disappoint. The quality of the treatments were exceptional. All the staff were friendly and professional. The lunch menu- although brief- delivered high quality meals, from outstanding staff, keen to serve and be helpful. It was a perfect day. The only point to raise is that the pool area is looking tired, and in places poorly maintained. The jacuzzi wasn't working for our trip. It didn't spoil our day at all but... Read more

Our son and his fiancé got married at The Grosvenor Pulford on September 3rd, this was arranged at very short notice after their original venue went in to administration. The staff, food and organisation were just amazing, they gave us a fantastic day and we can't thank them enough. I have to mention Maurice who made sure everything was perfect for us, he is a real asset to The Grosvenor and he just ensured everything ran smoothly and went without a hitch. We stayed overnight and our room was b... Read more

Storms prevented my wife and I from spending the night camping in the mountains, so we booked this for the night as a last minute treat. Our first impression in arrival was how it looked nicer than the online photos. The receptionist was welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. We spent the evening in the bar, this is nicely laid out with lots of comfy sofas set out in a way which prevent it feeling like your space is being constantly crowded. Do watch the prices though, hotels are kn... Read more

Beautiful. Luxurious and totally unexpected. I stayed here for work as I was in Chester the next morning, and would 100% come back for weekend away. The bed was big and comfy. The bath tub had a TV (need I say anymore) The only criticism is that my air con didn't really work so the room was quite hot.

We were attending a wedding locally and decided to stay here so we didn't have to travel home. Our room was modern and luxurious. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The prices have increased since last time we'd stayed here but there has obviously been a lot of refurbishment in that time. No complaints at all and would stay here again

Booked afternoon tea for my friends birthday and the experience was fabulous. My friend felt very special and they wished her Happy Birthday. The waitress/waiter were so attentive, I would love to go back for my birthday

Has great potential this place, but beware of the small print concerning noise! Bedrooms suffer with being too close to the function rooms and you can seriously join in the party! The manager is disinterested in any discussion / complaints around this - just refers you to the small print - a shame when the rooms are so expensive!

We stayed one night with our dog, the hotel was lovely and very dog friendly. The staff were very helpful and arranged for us to eat both dinner and breakfast in the bar with the dog. She was given biscuits and a bowl and basket on arrival which she loved. The room was very nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel great location just outside of Chester.

Went here for dinner for a friend's anniversary. Restaurant lost the booking, even though a deposit had been paid. Restaurant manager sorted it out efficiently though, and we were able to go to our table. Chicken pate was lovely, and the fish and chips above average! Staff friendly and helpful throughout. Will return soon.

I have just spent a 3 night stay at this hotel, whilst visiting Chester Races Season Finale, and I was absolutely delighted to have come across this beautiful hotel. I booked a twin room on a B&B basis and it was extremely comfortable (Room 26) with a pleasant outlook over a garden. The bathroom facilities were extremely good too. We ate at Ciro's Brasserie twice and the quality of the food was outstanding, again far exceeding our expectations. It was busy on the Friday evening, so better to... Read more

After refusing the accommodation at Holiday Inn South we eventually found this hotel. We really wanted three nights but they could only manage two. We were shown to Room 70 which was very well appointed but no view. The hotel runs a carvery on Sundays from 12noon to 4pm and then from 6pm onwards. We booked for 6.30pm and there were a lot of people in the restaurant. However my wife had turkey and I had the gammon. Both were well cooked and there were an ample supply of hot cooked vegetables.
