On our first morning we reported to the duty manager that there were long dark hairs in and around the bath. She apologised and said they would clean it up for us. On our return to the room later in the evening the beds had been made, tea cups etc changed. In the bathroom some new clean towels but hairs in bath had NOT been removed. When leaving this morning there was no staff on duty in reception to report our disappointment to.

Booked a family room for 2 nights, room was in severe need of a revamp, paintwork shabby. Bed had springs poking in our backs. Pool was warm but smelt of sewerage. Food was adequate if you like microwave cooking. I have stopped at 1 worse hotel in my life which was 16 years ago but this comes close.

This was a last minute arrival. I was driving back from Yorkshire and falling asleep at the wheel so decided to stop here. I walked in and it was quite dark. I booked in and went up to my room. No lift. The stairs looked like they hadn't been hovered for weeks and the rest of the public areas were really tatty and tired looking. The room was also quite dark. I closed the window as it was very noisy. Even with the window closed I could still hear the traffic and general noise of the services. I w... Read more

After reading some of the really bad reviews we went here with trepidation , took own pillows and duvets and cleaning materials with us. need not have bothered. room was clean we had 2 double beds, reasonably comfy, pillows were bad but we had our own so all was good. bathroom clean, lovely power shower, nice good size towels, there were spare ones there as well same applies to bedding. Soap dispenser on the wall so take your own I would suggest. Kettle with tea and coffee, sugar and UHT milk. V... Read more

We stopped here last weekend as a base for Chester Zoo. It was a bit tired looking when we arrived, mainly because of the very close building work being carried out on its immediate neighbour the Services area. The staff were very friendly, the room very spacious - we had two double beds - the bedding and towels were very clean, but there was a 'dusty' air about the place probably because of the nearby works. The building work is due to finish very shortly so maybe the air will improve. Would I ... Read more

The only positive i can give this is the receptionist. She was polite and courteous. We paid £120 for a family of 4 for 2 nights. Normally this would be acceptable but... 1 - our 2 kids had to sleep in the bed together. This was mainly due to the fact one mattress was on the floor and in the words of my daughter "it's like trying to get to sleep on pebbles!" So they out the duvet on one bed and the other duvet over them. 2 - I woke up throughout the night the double was that un comfy. (A ma... Read more

Nice visit to then hotel, good location and the room was clean. Staff were friendly. Please be aware there isn't a lift so you will need to use the stairs if you are on the first floor. Pet friendly which is great! They do not provide breakfast although you can purchase a food voucher from reception its costs £7 but gives you the value of £10 to use in the motorway services where there is macdonalds and spar etc.

Stopped off for breakfast on the way to Chester. The place is going through renervations, however everything was clean and tidy. Had a traditional breakfast (£6.99) from Fresh Food cafe. Pretty much standard fare, egg was freshly fried though, sausage and beans were clearly 'budget'. No toast! Quick service with friendly staff. White coffee to take out (£3.05). Overall expensive in my view; I'd only recommend if there were no other places available.

Stayed for 1 night at a cost of £80 - for a dirty carpeted, basic uncomfortable room. The services area is undergoing a renovation but the hotel is nasty - although non smoking, room 12 smells of stale smoke and there are cigarette burns on the net curtains and actual curtains. The carpets look like only the middle is vacuumed - you can see the dirt at the sides allthe way down the corridor - don't walk around bare foot. The bed is as hard as nails too. So uncomfortable. So disappointed that i... Read more

My husband, son and I spent the night here after spending a great day at Chester Zoo and the Cheshire Oaks. Rather than drive all the way back to Scotland we thought we'd rest and drive up fresh in the morning. As many hotels were booked out, I booked the Days Inn. The two members of staff we encountered were nice enough. If the walls and carpets of the hotel could talk, they would probably cry with what I imagine they have seen/endured. The only thing that it has going for it was that it w... Read more

Checked in for a local show and as you walked down the corridor there was a damp smell masked by plug ins. Initially we were given the ground floor room right at the end of the building, on entering we were shocked by the stink in the room and peeling paint coming off the walls, immediately asked to move and the receptionist Jim was by no means surprised or sympathetic! The second room was no better, the shower was filthy and I wouldn't wash a dog there!

We booked this for a stopover on route to Wales. We have a 2 year old daughter and we requested a bed with cot sides - we got a mattress on the floor, which she refused to sleep on & I wasn't surprised as it wasn't very comfortable. They provided 1 towel and 1 hand towel so 2 adults couldn't both have showers and clean dry towels never mind bathing our daughter. It wasn't cheap - £89 for room only for 1 night and to be honest it was overpriced and we wouldn't stay there again for that sort of m... Read more

Chose the hotel as a base for two nights while visiting Chester Zoo and the surrounding area, wasn't expecting too much but was still disappointed. Hotel rooms are very tired with peeling wallpaper and poor maintenance. Booked a family room for three but room only set up for two. Hotel appeared to be understaffed. Tea and coffee crockery heavily stained and not replenished on the second day. This was my first experience of Days Inn and it will be my last.

Spent one night here before going on to Gullivers World. We have stayed at various Days Inns throughout Great Britain and this has to be the worst. We paid over £60 for the night and got a room with a double bed, a single bed and a mattress on the floor. The mattress on the floor probably would have been ok if the carpet was cleaned and hoovered. The wall lights either side of the mirror had seen better days and were bent with lampshades that were crumpled and broken. The wallpaper was coming o... Read more

Beside the services so you can get food etc from the 24h shop, which was great for us as we arrived so late! Would stay again!

We booked the hotel while attending a festival in Chester. You need a car to get to it but it is well signposted. There's free parking and it is right next to a service station with a 24hr McDonalds and shops. We paid £90 for two nights in a triple room so it was an absolute bargain. The room was clean and was exactly what we needed. The hotel is just off the motorway but it was quiet. There's also reliable free wifi.

Good hotel for budget travellers to explore Chester and surrounding areas. Room was good, clean, quiet and relaxing after hard day visiting zoo. Downside is its on the services and you cannot get a good breakfast however it is 7 miles from Chester centre or 5 miles to Frodsham, also numerous villages to check out for good local grub.

Stayed here for one night, 24.9.16, as a group of girls headed for Chester races. This place is about 10 miles away from Chester and the racecourse but a lot cheaper than the city center hotels. Check in was easy, staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and functional. Tea and coffee provided in the room, clean bathroom. There are no eating facilities that I saw but there is a services at the side of the hotel so that's ok. We'd stay in a days Inn again it suited our needs fine.

It was fine staying here for one night the bed was comfy enough and pretty clean. But is in need of a facelift considering other budget chains are much more modern and the same price range. It does however have a bath and I'm always happy to see a bath.

The girls and I travelled up to Liverpool for a competition. We stayed in the Days inn. To be honest it was cheaper than other accommodation and the place was warm, ideally positioned to the motor way. Brilliant services right next door. The bits I was a little surprised at was that kids stay free, but they may be staying on a mattress on the floor instead of a bed. Frankly after a 6 hour car journey, I didn't care, I just wanted to sleep. We would stay in this chain again.
