I had a clean and comfortable room on the second floor of a Victorian House (no elevator so pack lightly). I especially liked that the room was bright with three windows and one could open the window for fresh air. Breakfast was in an unusually attractive spot in a greenhouse-type room and was excellent. All staff members were pleasant and helpful. There are two common rooms on the first floor - one is a bar (where the prices seemed a bit high) and the other a lovely sitting room. I didn't... The hotel and its staff is very pleasant with a nice bar and decent breakfast and plenty of parking. There is good access to Chester by bus (Sunday service very restricted). (Tip Go to the next bus stop toward Chester; there is a 2nd service from there). The reason I marked the hotel down is because of our rooms which were in the loft and were consequently up several flights of stairs and very small. There was no convenient socket for the kettle of the very good tea and coffee provision. There... Read more

We booked this b&b through a compere website. We stayed for two nights. I want to get the good stuff out of the way first. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Right now for the not so good stuff. I was quite surprised by our room I had looked on the website and I can't remember seeing the room we had, I just remember seeing really lovely rooms very tastefully decorated. Not so our room, the carpet was filthy and under the bed hadn't seen an Hoover for quite some time. Also it fel... Read more

I stayed at Chester Court Hotel for one night as had to cut short my booking with Travel Lodge Chester (see my review). I stayed in a single room at the back of the hotel which was part of single story buildings arranged around a courtyard. The room was quite small but perfect for my stay. The room was very clean, comfortable with a very nice clean ensuite. There were complimentary teas/coffees and biscuits, free parking and WiFi. Breakfast was nice and staff very helpful and pleasant. I stayed at Chester Court early April and I really enjoyed my stay. I arrived mid day, which is usually quite early for most hotels to check in but my room was ready for me when I arrived. I stayed at a single room just above the reception. The room was clean and cozy, not too big but enough for just a good night sleep. They also had maps & restaurants recommendations in the room which was quite nice. The breakfast was great too. I'm a vegetarian so I went for the beans on toast, which was dec... Read more

Booking a hotel in Chester was not easy at short notice but because Chester Court has mainly favourable reviews and is close to town and the zoo, we booked in, four adults in two rooms. I wish we hadn't. On the plus side there is good parking, the reception area and public spaces are appealing and the staff at reception are courteous and helpful, plus breakfast is good. On the debit side, all of the rooms we were shown are very small, without decent furniture and quite dismal. Would not stay he... Read more

My wife and I stayed here when visiting CHESTER RACES (£5 away in a Taxi) and we made reservations to stay here for a few days in order to attend my daughters wedding at CHESTER ZOO (£4.80 away in Taxi). In all, my wife, relatives and I occupied around 7 rooms at this hotel for stays of 1 to 3 nights for the wedding. THE BRIDE also stayed here the night before the wedding. The make up lady arrived at 5.30am to tend to the bride and bridesmaids and breakfast was taken into thier room that they... Read more

We had a group of 18, all arriving at different times, couples and singles and everything was organised very well and no trouble for the staff. The rooms are very well appointed and the showers and hot water good. Breakfast was very good though perhaps serving a little later would help in a tourist area. Only tiny small problem was wifi was poor in some of our rooms, apart from that thoroughly recommend this hotel. We will book again next year.

This lovely family run hotel is friendly, newly decorated and serves the best English cooked breakfast I've tasted in a long time! It's a 10 minutes walk into the city or a short bus ride. Some of the accommodation is found outside, split into 2 courtyards. Our chalet room, number 11, had an en suit shower room a king sized bed with tea/ coffee making facilities, clean towels provided daily for our 4 night stay. Large car park The room was clean and had towels and toiletries. Plenty of hot water, good shower. The staff at the Chester Court are very helpful and friendly, and nothing is too much bother. We arrived early at 9.30am after a long drive, and they got our room ready within 10 minutes, when we shouldn't have been in until 2pm. We were in Courtyard room 21. The walls are very thin, and we could hear the people in the next room snoring. Apart from that we had a fantastic 2 night stay. The breakfast was ample and we had cereal and a full English. We would certainly recommend it. It is only a 15... Read more

From the very easy check in, the lovely court yard room and the amazingly attentive breakfast serving crew, who can't do enough for you, I really can't fault it. I stayed here with my friend for a long weekend. We stayed in a room in the courtyard and it was very clean and spacious. There were a couple of issues which were easily sorted out whilst we were out during the day. The main staff were very friendly and some extremely helpful - we cheekily asked the general manager if he would take a heavy purchase back for us when we bumped into him in Chester looking after one of the shops and he did! We booked this hotel for an overnight stay on a journey to Scotland and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is situated on a main road, which seems to be an area dedicated for hoteliers. It is a very busy road. However, considering this was the situation, road noise at night didn't disturb us at all, which was a surprise. There is also a church opposite which had a chimming clock but again it didn't disturb our night..maybe it is turned off during this time. Our room was part of a 'motel' complex sit... Read more

We stayed here for a two night break when visiting Chester for The Races! As others have said its a little bit out of chester, about a 15 minute walk, we didn't mind the walk but if you didn't want to walk a taxi is about £5, or there is a regular bus service. We even walked to the races, which took about half an hour but as we stopped for a coffee half way it was fine, again a taxi wouldn't be too expensive. Just a 2 minute walk away is a place called Hoole Village and this is excellent for... Read more

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stop off on our way home, but very dissapointed as we did'nt actually stay in the hotel, but a little annex room across the car park from the hotel. The room was small, but we did'nt mind that as we were out all day, it was the springs in the matress that were sticking up and the shower did'nt work properly.

We booked direct with the hotel and they matched an offer price. We explained our need for a quiet room with no new paint and the lovely receptionist offered us a courtyard room. The room was comfortable and well equipped. It was spotlessly clean and the maid took great care on the second day to renew towels and sheets and leave it immaculate. The only down was that there are bright lights on all night in the courtyard (very necessary to stop people tripping). Blackout curtains were needed. We r... Read more

Stayed in room 11. Very good, staff were very helpful and kind room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and clean bedding. Complimentary biscuits with tea and coffee also. The only two problems was the shower not heating up properly and the wifi. It states free wifi but it will not work in your hotel room. Informed staff but there wasnt much they could do. It was an inconvenience due to wanting to plan day trips online etc. Hopefully the hotel will sort this out and I would happily return

This is a small hotel on the outskirts of Chester. About 20 minutes walk from the centre. The hotel is on a main road and buses can be used if one wishes. The hotel is traditional with chalet buildings in the grounds. We stayed in one of these and although very small it was comfortable and warm and clean. The bed was excellent and despite not being far from the road we heard no traffic or noise at all. Our one complaint would be the shower which was electric and very poor with low water pressure...
