I stayed at the hotel for a few evenings, and all was well. Beautiful rooms, food was splendid, and had lovely views. Sadly my visit was ruined by the managers attitude. The previous night I had trouble with the black cabs in the area. I was reccomended trying Uber. I was patiently waiting for my Uber to arrive, when I received a phone call from the driver. The manager of the hotel has banned Uber cars access to the road, and only allowing black cabs to the area. I then had to run up the road ... Read more

Stayed for one night on a visit for a conference and this Park Plaza is one of the better ones. My feeling is that rooms have been refurbished recently and mine was lofty, spacious and very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast offerings were varied and good quality. Excellent WiFi that is free and fast. Location is within easy walking distance of all amenities and the station.

We received very good and attentive friendly service, the breakfast was very good, the room was clean and well-designed, and we left our passports in the safe, realizing this after we took the train to Bath. The staff was wonderful about locating our lost passports in the safe, and getting them to the courier company for successful forwarding to us.

Reception staff friendly and helpful. Internet works well around the hotel and is fast. Guest rooms spacious, beds comfortable, showers powerful although they still have shower curtains that like to stick to you when your in it... Why do hotels insist on these horrible things! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The gym was well equipped and provided towels and water. NOTE: parking is in the NCP opposite and you get 20% discount. I didn't know this, hadn't been advised in advance, and had to do... Read more

A bit bland if I am honest - staff lacked any zip or charisma - just going through the motions. Weatherspoons immediately over the road resulted in not getting to sleep until the early hours - roudy, noisy and insufficient sound proofing. Breakfast was good and chef went out of her way to ensure fresh eggs.

Great location, friendly staff. Rooms are very nice with comfy beds. A really nice hotel, 3rd visit for us and certainly not the last. The menu in the bar had a good selection, as did the breakfast menu. A fabulous weekend of stereophonics and good accomodation.

This hotel was booked by a friend on our behalf and to be honest I had no idea of the cost per night which I appreciate is not the fault of the hotel. To say I was little aghast was an understatement however when I was offered breakfast for the two mornings at £10.per person per day considering the overall costs for the stay. On the Friday night for the room only was £119.00 which was probably fair enough but then we were landed with a bill for £249.00 bill for the Saturday night (same room)... Read more

Very good location right in city centre and on the edge of Bute Park. Clean hotel. Chose bedroom that wasn't facing greyfriars street so ensure we could sleep - there are a number of pubs & clubs on greyfriars street. Paid car parking right opposite the hotel. Did not dine in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Friendliness of reception staff left a lot to be desired. Very cold and unwelcoming. They informed us of our room rate on arrival but charged us a different rate on departure - all ... Read more

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room and bathroom were large and the bed was comfortable. The spa and fitness facilities were excellent and the staff were very helpful. The location was great too, right by the castle and a 5 minute walk to the city centre.

Be aware when you check in that they might charge you more than the amount you booked online. Although they will pay it back if you notice, it takes a few days after cheching out. If you do not have British credit cards, you have to pay for the whole nights at the time of check in.

Nice clean accommodation and facilities including spa and health suite. Staff all very polite, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was all freshly cooked. Cannot really fault this hotel at all. Room was quite quiet despite the hotel only a very short distance from all the excellent things Cardiff has to offer. Would definitely recommend.

I always find Park Plaza a real treat when working away from home. I've got to mention Glenda in the kitchen at breakfast, always welcoming, never minds making poached eggs or amazing omlettes even if busy. By the time I'd put hot food on my plate and got my juice the eggs were ready and perfect. Another example of great service at Park Plaza

The hotel is well appointed and the meeting space excellent. I didn't stay so the rooms will have to wait for another day. A good place for a meeting but Cardiff is difficult to get to from anywhere in the midlands north unless you fly in. The hotel has wifi in the meeting spaces.

The first thing we noticed was a lovely smell through out the hotel. The hotel was warm and friendly with very attentive staff. The bedroom was at the front of the hotel and was light, bright and airy. The Plaza is right opposite Witherspoons, that seemed like a bonus until 3.15 a.m.!! It is certainly not the hotels fault that the people leaving were chanting and fighting for about 20 mins on the Saturday night! Remember people pay good money for a Sky channel that shows that, you can watch it l... Read more

Price hiked up to over £200 because of an event on at the arena. That didn't even include breakfast. Mould round the shower in the bathroom. Paper thin walls in the bedroom, could hear a couple arguing next door for over an hour. No parking atall at the hotel, they tell you there's parking at the NCP opposite but there's no DEDICATED parking. The NCP was full when I went and the hotel staff didn't care. A quick, one night stay as we were out for the night in the big, bad city of Cardiff. Booked through booking.com which was quick and easy - no problems. On arrival, we were unsure where to park. Turns out you get 20% discount for the multi-storey car park opposite if you are residents at the Park Plaza. This was no hardship. Check in was straightforward and quick, staff were polite and helpful! The room was situated on the 4th floor, along many a corridor! The room was a disabled room, we didn'... Read more

We recently stayed at this hotel for a wedding as many of the guests had booked in here. Our initial disappointment was that there is no parking with the hotel but you have to park in an NCP car park opposite. You do however get a 20% discount from the hotel when you check out of the car park. The hotel itself was very stylish and the room comfortable and clean with very comfy beds. Stayed at the Park Plaza July 5th. Couldn't fault it. The room we had (218) was huge, bed was massive and extremely comfortable, pillows were perfect. Bathroom was plenty big enough, shower was excellent, good hairdryer. Quality of sleep was very good. Tea making facilities had everything you needed. Air on in room worked well. We had a couple of days away for an anniversary and chose Cardiff as it has a great feel to the city with lots of restaurants, the bay and some good sites to take in as well. The Park Plaza is centrally situated and most places are easily walkable, even the bay. Also there are water taxis between the bay the centre of Cardiff which give a different view on the city. Loved this hotel! It's right in the town centre so you don't need a taxi to get anywhere in the heart of the city centre. On your doorstep are restaurants, bars, shops and the millenium/Principality Stadium as well as the Motor point Arena. The lady on reception stated she gave us as room at the back so it would be quiet, and we had a fantastic peaceful sleep.
