The hotel is just 15 minutes away from Mermaid Quay and the Capitol Shopping Centre, and only 5 minutes from the leisure park. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy with a hairdryer, tea making facilities, spare towels and pillows. I was surprised when I found out it was only 3 stars! The beds were so comfortable too! I would recommend staying here for anyone travelling to Cardiff.

Very comfotable room and bed. All staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good but dinner menu was rather limited. Easy access to bus into Cardiff city centre (leave car at hotel). Access to the hotel is easy from M4 and Eastern Anenue.

The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were attentive and pleasent and hotel facilities were very good with free parking and a good breakfast. the only negative comment I would make is that the dinner menu could be a little more adventurous. However this is my fourth stay here and I find it very convenient for both Cardiff city and Newport.

Stayed here for a weekend and the room was lovely, very clean and quiet. They also do late check out which is handy if you've had a late night. Location was also good, main Cardiff is only about a 15 minute drive

We booked the hotel late and had a very good deal which included breakfast. The hotel was clean and tidy, well decorated and bright. The reception staff were welcoming when we arrived. Breakfast was good considering it was included in the price of the room. The staff in the restaurant were friendly. Ideal hotel location if you are visiting Cardiff but don't want to stay right in the centre. Was only a 10 - 15 minute drive from Cardiff and very close to the M4 exit.

My wife and I stayed for one night and were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice, bed comfy and the shower was great. The wifi connection was very good. We arrived too late for the restaurant so we settled for a beer and sandwich and met friends for breakfast elsewhere, so I cannot really comment on the food, but the the surroundings seemed clean and comfortable. Free parking and easy check in and out. Would stay again.

We booked into this hotel for a weekend to celebrate a friends birthday who lives in Cardiff. The room was okay and appeared to be recently renovated with new carpets throughout. The gym was run down and so was the outside of the building. The breakfast was poor and wast replenished. I approached the young girl on reception and asked to cancel breakfast for the following day. She refused and said it wasn't possible, I explained that the majority of the product had run out and wasn't replenished ... Read more

Hotel is near a good bus service. So we left the car and used the bus. The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There is no wardrobe but a hanging area which is the only draw back. The breakfast was lovely, it does say a bar but its only a little area but overall a great place

This hotel is exactly what you expect really. It's by no means amazing, but it provides everything you expect from a standard, budget hotel. I stay here at least 1-2 times per month as it's convenient for my work over this way and situated close enough to the town centre to take a 10-15 min cab ride if needed. Small gym, restaurant and bar all fairly average, and the rooms while basic are comfortable enough for a short stay. I certainly can't complain though when you consider I pay less tha... Read more

My partner, daughter and I stayed here on Saturday night after seeing a local band. The hotel was clean, the staff welcoming, and the bedrooms spacious, though we found the pillows weren't too comfy. We had a very enjoyable evening meal, and there were plenty of options for breakfast the following morning. Unfortunately, we weren't advised at reception that you needed to insert your room card into a slot in the bedroom to get the lights to work. I'd trotted back downstairs to ask the night p... Clean friendly hotel with an excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Location is a bit out of the centre. Group travel made taxi costs acceptable but if you travelled in and out singly this would put the price of the stay up. Clean hotel with concern for the environment.

The hotel was busy and they got the name of the groom wrong on the welcome board this was corrected but the brides name was then misspelt.. the hotel was ok... just ok though staff not very attentive at the bar I ordered a double tia maria and coke and a packet of crisps the total was 10.00 complete rip off a bottle.of bud ranged from 4.10 to 4.70 depending in who served you

The Park Inn by Radisson is very quiet, even though on a busy highway. We were on route to the Royal Mint the next day, so it was dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was spacious and very comfortable. In fact I had one of the best nights sleep I have had in ages! Dinner was a bit of a strange mix, more buffet style, but as it was all included with our trip to the Royal Mint, it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was excellent. In normal circumstances I could imagine you could review this hotel as high as 4/5. Our stay was a bit if let down. Firstly, having booked a double room we were initially put in a single, thankfully changed without much fuss. In our new room, we were really disappointed. Door handle to the bathroom was hanging off, the room smelt like stake smoke the whole time and most annoyingly the key cards for the door stopped working on a daily basis. Disappointing for a Radisson. Had to ask for a change of rooms due to the smell of stale tobacco smoke in the room. The 2nd room also smelled of tobacco smoke but not as bad...too tired toask for another change. Lots of BT vans straddling 2 parking bays so parking was tight. Room service was ok but forgot my drink so and no receipt left. A hotel showing its age and in need of an update.

Our coach party stayed here overnight, en route to Ireland and again on the way back. We enjoyed 2 x evening meals and breakfasts, buffet style and all were very enjoyable. Our rooms, 209 & 210 were wonderful, spacious, large bathroom, shower; tv; hairdrier, kettle / drinks etc. Large comfy beds. We stayed Friday to Monday for 49 GBP per night inclusive of a good breakfast, which we felt was good value. The staff were friendly and the room was fine, but there was rather too much noise transmission from the adjacent bathrooms (water flow noise etc.). The hotel is not in a particularly nice location should you wish to take an evening stroll, but is otherwise convenient for access to the city by car.

The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The breakfast was as you would expect at a Park Inn - and just that little bit better. The room was disappointing. The plug in the shower was blocked, the air conditioner leaked so much that it soaked that part of the carpet overnight and filled an inch in the bucket over breakfast. Worst of all was the mattress - it was well overdue for throwing out and replacing. If it hadn't been for the room, then our stay would have been perfect.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant here. Portions were large, prices were a little on the expensive side, but reasonable considering that the food was delicious. Every member of staff I encountered was incredibly helpful and friendly. The bathroom was excellent - very clean and new with an amazing rainforest showerhead. The room was no... Read more

This hotel is a good cheap alternative to some of the pricier options available in Cardiff. Only a 10 min ride from the city centre and a 5 min ride from the restaurants on Newport Road. Rooms are medium sized with a shower room/ toilet off the main room. My personal opinion is that with no real wardrobes just a hanging area on the bedroom wall this hotel caters for one night stops rather than a lengthier period. Rooms are clean and basic beds are comfortable. In shower room there is a free wash... Read more

This place reminds me of a poor Blackpool Hotel. Utterly depressing entrance and reception area. Staff were nice though. The room smells very stale with generous wafts of marijuana floating along the corridor from another room. Avoid.

Anybody staying in Cardif for business or pleasure I would recommend this hotel without hesitation for comfort and value for money when compared with other hotels. The only downside was perhaps the location. However, using local public transport was very good to commute into the city.

Stayed here for one night prior to the England ODI. The reception check in was very efficient and staff were polite. The room seemed cold and hadn't been aired for a while although all pre-requisites were there, TV, hairdryer, Tea/coffee, kettle etc. No wardrobe just a few hangers and a rail - ok for a short stay but not enough for more than 2/3 nights . No drawers for smalls. Breakfast was the unusual bun fight these places tend to be. The hot drink station in particular wasn't very well desig... Read more

I saw Radisson and immediately expected a certain standard but this has definitely been one of the worst hotel stays in recent memory. On arrival we discovered there was no restaurant available for dinner so had to walk to the harvester down the road. I was in room 314 and at 5am was woken by noisy pipes or something banging in what seemed like the ceiling - I'm a light sleeper but this was loud. Breakfast was very challenging with both coffee machines not working and periodic run outs as a cons... Read more

Pros: The beds were firm and supportive. The curtains were well lined so the room was dark. Cons: Throughout the evening a loud banging rattle was continuous (it sounded like bedroom doors being slammed right next door but after investigating I believe was the air con rattling, although the word rattle did not do it justice!). I didnt even have the air con turned on in my room even though it was really warm as when I tried to set it to its coldest setting (18 degrees) it came out as boiling ho... Read more

May be okay for one night business trips but not for holidays. Stayed for four nights on a coach trip. No wardrobes or drawers for clothes in the bedroom, just hangers on hooks, so had to live out of a suitcase. Also no bath, only a fixed ceiling shower. Dinner was buffet style and poor menus, with potatoes with their skins still on.

Book hotel though a web site for work, 3 drivers need hotel for the night so booked two rooms and paid when arrived at hotel we were told that they had over booked and we had been put in a family room with one double bed and a sofa bed, this wasn't helpful for 3 male drivers so the best they could do was put a camp bed in as well, the room was a good size but with a camp bed it was extremely small, not sure if it was the web site of hotels fault, but the staff were very pleasant and the hotel it... My room was spacious and clean, with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent. I stayed on a Saturday night and found no difficulty sleeping; there was little noise from either outside or inside the hotel. A lot of light creeped under the door, however; so light sleepers affected by light should take note. Breakfast was decent, although not mind-blowing. It cannot compete with the likes of Premier Inn. Scrambled eggs tasted unlike those I would make at home... Read more

A typical "chain" hotel. Reception was efficient and staff were friendly, car park ample and free (if a bit scruffy), bed more than adequate and the shower was excellent. The room was nice and clean, too. The two "moans" were the poor noise insulation - one heard doors banging and the sound of running water etc. from next door's bathroom; and the lighting was poor in the bedroom (excellent in the bathroom though). Air conditioning good but quite noisy. Obviously the first issue is to do with th... Read more

We wern't sure what to expect but with the name Radisson thought it should be OK. Check in was simple and the room was clean and spacious. Wasn't keen on the shower as it was one of those 'waterfall' shower heads which is not a great idea for a woman who doesn't want to get her hair wet (I did feed this back to the hotel on leaving). Fortunately reception had shower caps to hand so presumably this is something requested often. The restaurant was pretty basic ... a bit school canteenish to my ... Read more

Killed a wasp near the arm chair. Checked later to see if it was dead and found more dead wasps on the floor behind the chair and on the window ledge. Room had not been cleaned thoroughly. This was an ideal hotel and location for a group reunion... everything on hand and close enough to Cardiff for outings via the park and ride. I really liked this hotel - welcoming atmosphere, clean, comfortable, all facilities you could wish for and great food. Above all, the staff are amazing and have the sort of 'can-do' attitude you long for as a customer. So Saturday night in (the outskirts) of Cardiff. Firstly by searching the websites etc well ahead of time a really keen price can be obtained. This is an established brand hotel in probably the 'budget' category so most people know what to expect. For our trip it was perfect as it was very near our venue but be aware this is not Cardiff central but taxis are available!. I have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions and found it to be a fine place to stay for business. Sited away from the city centre and with easy access from the M4 motorway, it is also conveniently sited for my purpose. Add in free parking and it's a winner. The rooms are well appointed and the 'rainfall' showers are very welcome at the end of a long working day. With friendly and helpful staff, this is my preference for an away-from-the-city-centre hotel in Cardiff.

The hotel staff were really lovely. All polite and executed their duties professionally. However, something did not quite seem right about this hotel: the lack of newspapers available; the coldness of public rooms and bedrooms; the hotel "restaurant" being closed on Sunday but not mentioned at check in. All these matters are probably down to poor management at a senior level or lack of management and leadership. I have stayed in many Radisson Hotels and this was the worse ever. The breakfast: ... The hotel seems a decent overall standard but our room was freezing! The bathroom has no radiator at all and main bedroom only has a poor warm air fan so we were cold all night. We called down for blankets but they didn't have any. We told the receptionist - who was very friendly - but all he could say was 'sorry about that'. Not acceptable at all. The twin beds were also really uncomfortable, so a cold, poor nights sleep all in all.
