Every staff member was pleasant and helpful. The hotel was clean and it felt like the staff really enjoyed their work and wanted to make our stay a truly enjoyable experience. Breakfast was good, with poached, fried and scrambled eggs among coffees, fruit, croissants, etc.The location was great...near Cardiff Castle, Cardiff University and the Arcade, and a short walk to the train. If we had a question, staff was responsive and helpful.

Arrived to be greeted by an overly noisy reception area, acoustics are not good, and the bar opens out to reception. The hotel staff were really professional and friendly, valet parking was very efficient (car parking in Cardiff is not cheap anywhere). Our room was on the 4th floor, however, no one mentioned that the lift has a glass rear wall which looks out over the central area, very disconcerting if any of the passengers has a fear of heights or similar phobias. Once at the room, the view wa... Read more

We arrived early and checked our bags in and was told that we would receive a call when our room was ready (great we thought) before we left to explore Cardiff we requested them to book us a taxi as we knew it would be busy later and wanted to make sure we got to the concert. We stayed 2 nights in this well run hotel, everyone was very helpful and obliging. Our room overlooked Cardiff castle, a decent size with a well equipped bathroom and a good shower and bath. A comfortable, if firm, king size bed and not 2 singles attached together-my pet hate. The windows were sealed against the road noise and the air con was well used by us for an extremely warm few days. Over all a very pleasant stay the only niggle would be the hot breakfast food was looking dried up, but an ... Read more

Adjacent to Cardiff castle, this hotel offers high quality in terms of service, cleanliness and food. As a diamond member, I received a room with access to the concierge lounge, which was clean and well-stocked. I would have appreciated a view of the castle, but none was offered. The room we had, however, came with a friendly seagull on the window ledge with whom we had several conversations! I definitely would stay in this hotel again.

The cleanliness of the room was not to our expectations for a four star hotel. There seemed to be many areas that needed to be addressed to bring the rooms up to standard. Lovely room with everything you want there. Breakfast was fantastic and all the staff were helpful. Great location to all the hot spots of Cardiff. However the noise from other rooms very loud this time (talking, toilets and banging) and from outside in the streets!! We were in 216. Bumping music wasn't good when you want to sleep! Maybe people should make u aware of this when book the room as it easy to hear (slug and lettuce and tiger tiger).

I had booked this hotel some months ago based on solid reviews and good pricing. On arrival all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. They quickly organised the valet park for the car nearby so that we could get on with enjoying our time in the city. Arriving at 12.30 our room was not yet ready but the staff arranged to call my mobile soon after to let me know. Generally this is a nice hotel, but we did encounter a couple of issues. The issues were annoying more anything - from it took an age to check-in whilst they found our room on the system, no toiletries in the room (quickly remedied, but does this point to housekeeping issues?), and the failure of both electronic key cards in the early hours. Pulling up at the hotel on a Friday night, there appeared to be some security men on the door (resembled bouncers!) and no one else to take care of the car... Read more

We had a lovely stay in the Hilton in Cardiff over the weekend. We were able to check in early, always a bonus after a long train ride, and the room was impressive, and surpasses my experiences at other Hilton Hotels. I love the Hilton and it is always my hotel of choice when visiting the city. Whilst further away from the city centre, it more than makes up for it in the quality of service and the luxury that it offers its guests. My mother, sister, nan, 2 friends and I went to the hilton for a spa day and afternoon tea. We went on a very good day as we shared the spa with the All Blacke Rugby team. My mother was in her element!! We had a lovely day in the spa and treatments were good apart from getting facial mask in my eye but that was sorted. Afternoon tea was nice but very basic not the normal afternoon tea its a cheaper version, as we were on a package. We did have a lovely day and my mum was over the moon!

Stayed one night on business . Very good central location . Room spacious comfy bed and large bathroom and shower. Breakfast loads of choice and lots of fruit , different breads and pastries as well as usual cooked options which included poached and boiled eggs. However I was horrified to be charged £35 to park for less than 24 hours. No doubt it told me in the small print but I hadn't realised.

Great hotel to use as a base for a fantastic city break. Lots of history, great restaurants, bars/pubs, 1st rate shopping, leisure venues, open spaces and parks, concert and sporting venues, all within a 10 minute walk of the Hilton Hotel. Highly commended.

Stayed at the Hilton for 1 night (5th-6th Nov), the whole experience was disappointing to say the least. To begin with, we had troubles with the booking which was booking.com's fault however the Hilton were incredibly difficult and inflexible to deal with as well. When we got to the hotel it was extremely busy and the service was non-existent. We waited in a queue for about 20 minutes for the valet parking. There was no communication with the staff about our booking situation, where it got to ... Read more

Great location for the city and to visit the millennium stadium. BUT, the room I had needed the carpet cleaned, the bed was comfortable but the sheets were not great and the biggest issue was the AC was seems to rumble on and on even after it was switched off, as I was there only one night I did not feel it worth complaining, that said I hope it's addressed. Great bar atmosphere and excellent breakfast buffet. Here is that BUT again, we the guests deserve better from an esteemed chain. So, "a... Read more

The hotel is located next to the castle and is only a short walk into the centre of town. Room (Executive) was ok. I wasn't happy about the lack of remote control for the TV which appeared to be my fault when I spoke to the unhelpful person at check out. I have stayed in many Hiltons and have been in many Executive Lounges but this one was poor in terms of the quality and variety of the food and drink on offer, although it does offer nice views. Breakfast was good. It will be interesting to s... Read more

I've been staying here for the past several months. Things got better for a couple fo weeks, and then slow decline to how they were. Last week was really bad. Below is what I wrote to the Hilton Cardiff Management - after 4 days, no response: Dear Mr. Hotel Manager, What Happened? A few months back I gave you lots of feedback on poor service and other issues in your hotel. It seems things have badly slipped again in recent weeks. This week I stayed in Room 436, and I encountered the following... Read more

Excellent location with really friendly staff, executive room had lovely view. The only downside was the Saturday night price hike due to the rugby, but all hotels do this. It would be nice if one chain broke the unrealistic price for international days.

We arrived at the Hilton late afternoon on the Friday. As we had booked for parking the concierge took the luggage from our car into the reception area and parked the car for us. Check in was straight forward the staff are very friendly. We had to go to a couple of functions in other places while staying in Cardiff. The staff at the Hilton were very helpful with directions. The breakfast was very good with very wide variety of hot and cold food, juices and hot beverages. The bar in reception wa... Read more

We stayed at this hotel just before competing in Cardiff half marathon so that, after 6 months of training, we could have a great nights sleep, easily get up in the morning, have a relaxing breakfast and just walk outside. We actually booked the hotel through the marathon website, and informed the reception on check in of our plans. However we were still issued a room on the first floor. Well not known to us at the time the first floor is nearly impossible to get a good nights sleep in!!!! First... Read more

I stayed at the Hilton Cardiff for Bed & Breakfast on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th November with my colleague as we were attending a conference at City Hall. I felt compelled to write a review as we were just so impressed with the stay overall and especially by the excellent customer service we received throughout. We stayed at the hotel for a weekend in November to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday with a rugby game and family lunch. As a Marriott Platinum I have been loyal to them for many years, but Hilton recently status matched me and we decided to venture across for some of our leisure stays. Our stay at the Cardiff Hilton has been fantastic. I took a friends daughter for an overnight stay and a spa trip with treatments. The experience was decidedly average. I also paid a lot of money for the room which I think was nothing special. I have paid a lot less for nicer rooms in hotels in London. Having said all this i think the staff were lovely, the rooms were clean and the location is excellent.

Hiltons are always a bit corporate and this is really no exception. However there is not a great deal of choice in Cardiff. I was pleasantly surprised though to find willing staff and clean room and a very comfortable bed. The higher floors are quieter. The restaurant Greys was recently refurbished and I suspect not run by Hilton, however it had a reasonably priced and interesting menu. It was very good and I would recommend if you cannot be bothered to go out. The executive lounge was good and ... Read more

We stay at the Hilton Cardiff several times a year and are always impressed at the quality of service. As a Gold member we normally get an Exec room upgrade with all the excellent associated benefits. The hotel is located very close to the shopping centre which is handy. A tip would be to get a high floor as sometimes there can be some noise from the street. The staff always make you feel so welcome. Looking forward to next time!
