I found this hotel a bit pricey for what it offered. To eat in the hotel they offered a couple of pizzas or chips. The pub opposite which the hotel seems to have a partnership with was fully booked for the next 45 mins so had to drive to find somewhere. It could be noisey at time which I think was due to passing trains. The wifi could be a bit hit and miss as well. I found the leaflet given to make sure you were acknowledged as a platinum/spire member a bit impersonal as it actually said dear pl... Read more

I'm amazed at the prices charged by IHG for this hotel. For sure, you can pick up reductions online that bring the price down to around £75 - £90 per night, but the standard rate can be as high as £150 per night...... for a "budget" hotel! Remember: this IS a budget hotel. The breakfast is fairly basic.... quite tasty but basic. There is no dinner service, other than a microwave pizza at £11 each. Edible but no great. There was supposed to be a menu for The Red Lion pub in the room but none ... Read more

I'm a seasoned business traveller, and a Gold IHG member. I stay in lots of Holiday Inn's and HI express's. This one isn't great. Despite pointing out three times how to pronounce my name, the guy on the front desk kept calling me Vorgahan...its VAUGHAN, its not that hard....TV remote doesn't work, and the TV is stuck BBC1. I got offered a free drink as a Gold member but then am expected to carry the voucher around with me. No iron in the room. Pub/restaurant across the way is decent but expensi... Read more

This is what it is .it's a standard holiday inn express with everything you would normally expect from the holiday inn express brand its location to the M11 and the imperial war museum duxford is excellent however if you don't like noise then this place is not for you as the main road is by the side and the train track is at the back. However if you want to catch a train to Cambridge then it's fantastic.the staff here are really great and try their utmost at all time working with what they have ... Read more

Lovely hotel, modern and clean, excellent value for the money we paid, which included breakfast, staff helpful, we visited Duxford air museum, hotel was very close by and convenient, downside though very close to a main railway link, so trains regularly going past but they provided ear plugs but only one set and it was very badly sign posted, my sat nav took me to the wrong side of railway platform so had to try and find my way back round

My wife and I used this hotel from the 25th May till the 31st May and the staff made us feel at home. The room and bathroom were very spacious. WIFI, A/C and TV were available. The towels were changed daily and the room was kept spotless. They served continental and English B/Fast and was abundant. In the evenings we would dine at the Red Lion restaurant which is in the opposite Hotel, or at times we would order a pizza. The food was always varied and the staff were very friendly. Stayed here to visit War museum it was so handy for it just two minutes down the road. It was right next to the train station for easy 8 minute journey into Cambridge. The room was clean and tidy and the double shower was one of the best showers I have had. The staff were all really helpful and friendly Sue, Amy and Andy (and everyone else that we didn't catch their names) - thank you for making our stay memorable we do hope to return.

Our welcome to the hotel was very warm and everything we asked for was provided. Our room had the guest bed made up which we hadn't asked for and restricted the space available in the room. We asked for someone to come up to take this bed apart but found this much quicker to actually do ourselves. The trains didn't disturb us too much but the doors constantly banging until the early hours did. As several people have already said our sat nav took us to the other side of the platform, it wasn'... Read more

I've stayed on two different occasions at this hotel and both stays were perfect. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Whittlesford train station (right next door) which can take you into Cambridge in less than 10 minutes and also easily into London. You won't be disturbed with noises from the train and the hotel breakfast is great in the morning before starting you day. There isn't anything near the hotel except for the small train station and The Gold Lion pub/restaurant across the st... Read more

Really modern, clean hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was nice and big. Everything we needed was there. Hotel was next to a railway station but this did this not disturb our sleep. Breakfast was really nice, we had the continental but there was a hot option. Loved the Spitfire decor around especially as I stayed there for a Spitfire event at Duxford Air Museum. This was our first stay at a Holiday Inn hotel, will definitely use Holiday Inn again

The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi when it should be advertising Wi-Fi free. During my while stay I managed to get 0 seconds of it and I needed it for urgent travel and business matters. Pathetic really. On a positive note the room was new and well furnished. The bed was only a double when there was room for a Queen. The bathroom was modern but they provided a liquid soap in the basin and the shower. No shampoo, no conditioner etc. As well in the shower is was at a height that even myself at 185 c... Read more

This fairly new Holiday Inn Express is in a great position - handy for the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Audley End House, and Cambridge. Usual reliable Holiday Inn Express standards, and of course the free buffet style breakfast. Good value for money at £60 compared to other hotels around Cambridge. Handy for trains too as is right next to the station, which I though might be an issue due to the noise they were hardly noticeable.

Great base for visiting Cambridge Duxford IWM, Audley End and Stansted Airport. Nearby rail link to Cambridge.Clean, comfortable, well-appointed rooms and friendly staff. Located just off busy main road but not a problem if room windows are closed. Good hot and cold buffet breakfast choice. Hotel is affiliated with the pub next door which offers a wider range of drinks than the hotel's own bar. Great for business or leisure trips.

Good location if you want to take the train into Cambridge. Looks new and everything is in a good state of repair. They have stickers everywhere saying ??free wifi absolutely everywhere?? but then I couldn??t get it in my room at all (I was at the very end of a corridor and around a bit of a corner). Holiday Inn Express Cambridge Duxford is a typical chain hotel. Rooms are good and clean, staff is very proficient, but the hotel is rather impersonal and sterile. The hotel is in close proximity to the Duxford aerodrome. We were here for the Duxford Air Legends, which made for pretty hefty room rates. A nice touch though, are the aviation related posters and pictures in the lobby. The hotel only does brekafast and drunks, and very limited dinners (choice of three delivery options I believe). ... Visited here for 1 night and the room was comfortable and clean. Double bed in my opinion was tiny and our view was the train platform! Not great. Breakfast is a disgrace. The only decent thing was toast. No fried eggs only scrambled which was tasteless sausages were very cheap no bacon coffee tasted like no coffee I've tasted before it was truly awful. Should to take a least out of a premier Inn books.

The hotel is well located on a road side close to Cambridge and it is a typical clean and neat hotel. The rooms are confortable and clean, there is good spare in the room service for relaxing. The TV is a flat screen and with the coming multi country channels. It's just a couple minutes away from the main high way from London and the standsted airport.

We requested a quiet room and on checking in, the receptionist said that we had a quiet room. When we went to our room, it was on the 3rd floor and it was the closet room to the busy road next to the hotel! We were moved the next night to a room further away, but it still suffered from rad noise. Clean and tidy. Helpful check in desk. Unbelievably expensive at £131 for a B&B where ear plugs are provided (FOC) because of the "through the night" trains. Description talks about close proximity to transport links-roll out of bed one side and you're on the train platform. Roll the other way and you're on the A505.

The train station is literally a couple of hundred yards away from hotel with trains every twenty minutes or so into Cambridge with a journey time of ten minutes or so,Therefore ideal location for visiting Cambridge. The hotel is modern but unattractive and the breakfast average with only four hot items of rather poor quality although there is a reasonable continental selection.Room rate I feel is expensive for this hotel unless location is you main concern

Quite amazing really. I have never stayed at an hotel so close to a railway! Our room overlooked the station and was literally within spitting distance of the platform. In spite of this and presumably because of the sound proofing, we had a quiet night's sleep. The room was clean and comfortable, the beds good and the staff were courteous and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The room was quiet and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. The breakfast was a most unpleasant experience. We arrived to eat over an hour before breakfast was scheduled to end. The hotel had everything you need for a short stay: The rooms were clean and well-equipped (we even had a sofa), the bathroom was a reasonable size and the facilities of the hotel were decent enough. Reserved three rooms for a family wedding. All clean and comfortable. Helpful staff at front desk, even at half past midnight provided hot drinks at no extra cost. Stayed one night while working in the area. As a priority member I stay a lot in holiday inn expresses and this one ranks at the top of the list. Staff were really friendly and prepared to go the extra mile. I arrived about 8 after a long day and really didn't want to go to the pub or dinner so ordered the pizza. This hotel is built virtually 10 feet from a main train line and trains come thundering through all night. The purpose of a hotel is to allow people to sleep well. The insulation does something towards isolation of the noise but it is still disturbing your sleep. Who would build a brand new hotel on a busy train line nuts.
