Upon arriving in to Cambridge I realised how close the Hilton city hotel was to the grand arcade literally next door. The hotel was clean and tidy and well presented. I had a really nice room with with a shower which is much better than a shower over the bath. I had a king-size bed which was an actual king-size bed rather than two singles pushed together. There was sky TV lots of plugs and a little a gadget in the unit to plug your things into. Dressing gown's, safe and fridge. Water and biscuit... Read more

The hotel is very well situated for sightseeing in Cambridge. My friend and I shared a large 2 double bedded room which was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff all friendly and helpful. I had booked well in advance and therefore got the room and breakfasts at a very reasonable cost. I would certainly recommend the hotel.

No emptied bins by housekeeping department. Not a Hilton standardised hotel yet. Maybe they recently became a Hilton group hotel. They need proper training for housekeeping staffs how to clean a room.

The hotel was very efficient at check in, we were in our room within five minutes of arrival but unfortunately we had a problem with the air conditioning not working properly but the situation was eventually resolved and very late at night we were transferred to another room. The surroundings were very pleasant although the lady behind the bar didn't know her Merlot from her Chablis.

A convenient hotel, but pretty standard. Staff were helpful and friendly, spacious rooms and nice bathroom. Tea and coffee supplies in the room were a bit mean, but readily rectified on request. I would stay on another occasion - but it is expensive-particularly for a solo traveller.

The hotel is smack bang in the centre with loads of bars and restaurants. It is a modern hotel with free wifi, good bar and good well sized and equipped rooms. I found out later that the hotel does have parking facilities. you go to the front and basically hand your keys to concierge who parks it up and brings it back. I believe the cost is about £22. I parked in the pubic multi story attached which cost £38.50 for about 20 hours

Under Hilton management this year the former Cambridge City Hotel has improved its service and quality since I last stayed there. Mid range budget hotel with price/value at the top end of that segment. My problem was our suite was next to the elevator shaft and hearing it go up and down all night was not relaxing! So my tip is ask where the room is and stay away from the elevators!

We had a good three days at this hotel. The clear advantage was the location. I had a conference in one of the colleges while my wife was sightseeing so it was ideally located. Some of the staff members were very good and competent while others were not trained. The gym was a big disappointment - the equipment must be more than 20 years old. With a bit more effort this place could become a great place to stay.

Okay--maybe we got off on the wrong foot this hotel and me. That twenty minute wait to checkin kind of sucked. But, when I finally got through that incredibly long line, the only woman on duty was nice. I was tired after a long day traveling--looking forward to a quiet night--too bad. The people next door are totally normal--not exceptionally loud--yet, why does it sound like I have someone in bed with me--talking on the phone with her mother--and I can hear every word! So uncomfortable! May... Read more

The hotel location is perfect for being in the centre of Cambridge, hands down! Concierge and reception are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard, no greatness about it, but equally no complaints. To be honest I appreciated the specially made omelettes to order. We did not have lunch or dinner as there is lots of choice in the City Centre. Please note though there is no fridge in the rooms! We could not keep wine or milk chilled (we had a toddler). I would stay again if I went to ... Read more

Uncomfortable bed, much too hard. Would be better with a matress softener. Staff excellent. Concierge services are fantastic. Well placed for cambridge centre, colleges and shops. Restaurants and bars near by.

Troubles at check in. Had to pay £25 a night to park. Food and drink very expensive especially breakfast. Noisy guests most likely because of the student environment. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.

Nice hotel, nice location , middle of bars, restaurants, shopping. In the heart of Cambridge city center. Hotel could use a little update, room is ok. Male staffs are very helpful. Female staffs on the other hand is useless, cannot get anything done. I requested for help with luggages, they said "right away", but forgot to call guest concierge to help. They seems to forget a lot of guests request.

Great location and very good hotel, friendly staff, good food, lovely bar. Our room was very comfortable and exactly as expected. Fantastic to just walk out and be in the middle of the city, right next to the shops, colleges and cafes. Great weekend

Our Jr. Suite was one average size hotel room and not a "suite" in any sense of the word.. It was recently renovated, in good repair and had a nice contemporary decor. The room had a comfortable king bed, 2 small closets with hangers, 2 medium-size drawers for clothing storage. The individually controlled air conditioning worked well. The small bathroom had a single sink and combination shower and tub. The door was solid (not one of those annoying glass panels) Valet parking made for an ea... Read more

Valet parking. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Modern rooms. I have stayed at the other Hilton in Cambridge and they are both excellent. This one is closer to the City centre but really equally distant to the main University sites. Very near Pembroke College. Good restaurant. Driving in this City is useless and getting away from this hotel at rush hour is impossible. But that is not the hotel's fault and you will find that same problem at most places.

It was great to try this hotel again after many years and we were not disappointed. After seeing it in decline when it was the City Hotel, we had said we would never go there again. We had an excellent stay - the hotel was in great shape. great room but most of all the staff were absolutely fantastic. It was great to see the bar staff actually interacting with the guests - David in particular was on when we went to the bar and there was also Stuart. Both were truly excellent. Monika - part ... I had to have a major operation in the nearby Addenbrooks hospital, so my wife and I decided to book into this hotel for four nights, to aid with my recuperation. Upon arrival at the front desk we explained to the lady (Dace) that I would require an early breakfast prior to going to the hospital the following morning. She advised me that she would do her best to facilitate our needs, and after completion of the checking in process, we made our way to our room. Approximately 15 minutes later, a ... Read more

My gracious, charming & beautiful young wife, our teenage son and I stayed here for a two-night weekend visit to our tow eldest children in Cambridge. The Hotel is well sited, beside the Lion Gate Shopping Centre and close to Trumpington & Regent Streets and the city centre and colleges. What a pleasant surprise to be pleasantly greeted by the front desk and allowed to check in early and even have a room upgrade. Front desk staff were very friendly as were the breakfast staff who were amazingly attentive but unobtrusive. This hotel has definitely changed my opinion of Hilton Hotel to a first choice now. Great location, not cheap but none of the decent hotels in the area are.

I stayed over for 3 days on a training course taking place in the hotel. Received a very warm welcome (and goodbye) from the Front Office team, experienced the attentiveness of both concierge and bar teams. Room itself was cosy and temperate already on arrival, stayed over a cold period of time and didn't feel like I didn't have enough heating (I usually get cold easily in hotels). Room was immaculate, their housekeeping team must do a fabolous job on a daily basis, as every day the room was als... Read more

Attended a business meeting here today and found it poor on many fronts - will not be recommending use again for business. Location is poor if you have people travelling here - it took one attendee 45 mins to travel in from 3 miles away and took me over an hour to drive just over 12 miles, all routes in to the city centre are so congested. One attendee travelled by bus and his first bus didn't turn up so he was later than me! The only people who arrived on time were those able to cycle. There i... Read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room appeared to have been recently refurbished and met our needs for a short stay well. Must admit I would have liked the window to have been openable but the aircon worked well. A lot of rooms open into atriums - may or may not be to your taste. We had one with a view of the outsid... I have been a guest of the Hilton Cambridge City Hotel for the past 3 weeks. Put simply, this Hotel redefines customer service because it is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble for this large Hotel. The amenity is good, it is quiet, the beds are very comfortable and the bar and restaurant are all very accessible and of a good standard. But want made the past few weeks so pleasurable was the friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended. This hotel would benefit for a business loung... Read more

We stayed here, and booked as a Hilton Honours guest. We arrived around mid-day and were promptly told that yes our rooms were ready, but if we wanted a key before 3.00 pm, then it would be another £20!!!!!!!. We thought that this was outragous as well as rediculous, as coming back at 3.00pm not only was an inconvenience to us, but also to the hotel as well, especially as they had to check us in again, and handle our luggage again! Surely common sense should prevail and guests should be valued.... Read more

Popped in for a rest and welcome pot of tea. It was a good opportunity to check it out for future stays. It is lovely with a lovely open area which houses Reception, restaurant and bar. There were a vast quantity of open seating areas but each group arranged to feel like its own little area. We sat overlooking the historic buildings, it was so peaceful and felt very rested.

One of the main reasons we chose this was because of the valet parking. The hotel was excellent in every respect, as you would expect because it is not cheap. A little disappointed that early on a Saturday they had run out of olives for a martina costing not far off ten pounds, but that's a small thing. The room and bed were most comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The consierge service was really very good and efficient, especially when taking and collecting cars. The staff were generally ... I only spent a night in this Hilton following a night out with friends, I was overall very happy with the hotel. Clean, tidy, modern, well equipped and very polite, professional staff. As above, make sure you use the valet parking as the local parking is limited and very expensive. I would stay there again without a second thought.

Nice central hotel in city centre Nightmare to approach by car Worst city in England for rush hour traffic Ultra modern and as such little character Uninspiring lobby on first floor with bar and restaurant All functional and no marks for ambience Reception and bar staff welcoming Average price Such a shame in a fabulous city not to have capitalised on tradition Although many modern buildings this could have been much more exciting

I stayed mid-week for one night. Easy to find and a great location, right in the centre close to restaurants and shops. I used the valet parking, which was very helpful. I had forgotten to arrange feather free bedding for my daughter and on arriving reception promptly arranged for the bedding to be changed with a no problem attitude. When we arrived at our room the bedding was changed by very helpful staff. We had breakfast in bed which was hot and delicious. I would definitely stay again.
