Everything as it should be, clean, functional, friendly staff, perfectly acceptable for a short business stay as it is near the railway station. That said the area is totally soulless, packed with roundabouts and office blocks and not somewhere I would pick for leisure. I would head closer to the water where there is a little more atmosphere. It was about a 15 minute walk to find any buzz, we liked the area around the Bristol Old Vic where there were some waterside restaurants (the 3 Burger B... Read more

Good value business hotel with modern, functional feel. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, free wifi. Bathroom was compact and a bit dated, could use a refresh there to match the rest of the room. Generally a very nice stay with all amenities you expect from a large chain hotel at a reasonable price. Easy walk from the station, 15 minutes walk or so into central Bristol. Area is mainly office parks, not much to do, but also quieter at night as a result. There are some small convenience shops near... Read more

Well situated for city centre nights out, for those visiting from elsewhere. Very clean and tidy, well decorated and maintained. We received excellent service throughout our stay. This hotel tends to attract more of a business/stag/hen type of clientele, but at no point did we experience any unwanted noise or disruptions.

...u get Novotel. Nothing less, nothing more. One night staying, booked a Queen Room (very small tho), which happened to be extremely warm upon my arrival. This should be supposed to be a larger room compared to a Standard, but, nevertheless, I felt like 'squeezed' in. Pretty small compared to other Novotel where I stayed sometimes in other countries. Crew is cool: gentle and helpful. Breakfast: nothing to write home about. Cleanliness: ok (found a couple of hairs in the bathroom, tho). Nothing... Read more

We won a stay at this hotel from a local radio competition in Birmingham. We only stayed one night and it was just fine. We asked the Receptionist for a quiet room at the end of the corridor which was perfect. We heard no noise at all. I asked the Chambermaid if I could swop caffeine free coffee sachets for normal, and she was more than happy. The staff were really nice and friendly. It's always hard to find fault with Novatel, the locations are always very close to many of the cities main attractions and the value for money is incredibly hard to beat. With this particular Novatel I once again find myself very happy, the room was clean and ready, the reception staff were helpful and knowledgeable and the food was of a particular high standard. I will continue to use Novatel for the forseable future as i have found true value for money.

I booked primarily for the location, and the hotel was actually very nice. Check-in was quick and efficient. The rooms were very comfortable and well-appointed. A colleague and I went to the bar for a coffee and an informal business meeting late in the afternoon and the staff were very accomodating. The meal in the evening was just a burger and a pint (special offer during Euro 2016) and was very good. Breakfast was excellent with a very good selection. I was very pleased with my stay.

We booked this hotel as it was close to the city, check in and the room were fine and we had no noise problems. Drinks prices were what you expect in a hotel, we didn't eat in so cannot comment on the food. It also come with a basement carpark and reasonable charge of GBP10 for 24 hours parking. The room is spacious with a comfortable qu... Read more

The location of this hotel is very close to Temple Meads railway station and the shopping area. The advance check in worked really well. I turned up at the hotel about 10.30 am and my room was ready. They even had a map inside the envelope which was a nice touch. Excellent breakfast. All in all an excellent hotel to stay in.

We recently stayed here to visit family in Bristol. We needed somewhere close to the city centre so we were expecting to pay but I chose this hotel as it had a few more things to offer than other hotels in the city, such as sauna/steam room and gym. The room was nice, but nothing spectacular. I was disappointed that there were no robes/slippers in the room. These would have been nice for the use of the sauna and steam room. The bar service was nice and polite with reasonable prices. Check in... Read more

I had to stay a night here after a late flight meant I couldn't get home. Good location for the train station and near a drop off point for the airport bus. The room was pretty basic but was more than adequate and clean. I hadn??t eaten so ordered a few small dishes and got them sent to my room, whilst it was too much for me it was fine. Front desk were very friendly both at check in and check out. Would stay here again if I had to spend a night in Bristol close to Temple Meads. If not then I... Read more

Not the cheapest hotel but ideal for the city and train station, room was nice and clean, we had requested twin room and they made up a family room as there were no twin rooms available.. Parking was good, plenty of room , booking in and out very efficient and staff very helpful. Only downside was that the steam room was cool (not in a good way) and after trying the sauna for 20 minutes i gave up trying to sweat. Would certainly use again but do not rely on the sauna and steam room. Quayside ar... Read more

What most excited me about my one night stay was the fair trade toiletries in my bathroom. Congratulations, Novotel, on leading the way on this. I also had a fair trade biscuit. All you need to do now is add fair trade tea and coffee and you're there. I had a lovely, spacious room (double as single) with sofa on the 4th floor. The windows open, another plus. They could replace the rather cramped bath with shower overhead by a wetroom shower, which would feel much more spacious and woul... Read more

This hotel is in a great location in Bristol. The room is good with standard amenities included. The room and bed were good and clean. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the standard of service at breakfast was not up to scratch. Had to ask for milk for the tea and was given a half empty jug off an uncleared table.

Stayed here for a long weekend and really enjoyed it. Great location as it's only a 5 minute walk to the city centre, pubs and eateries. Parking available on site (at extra cost) which was a bonus. Rooms are modern, clean and spacious and reasonably priced considering location and standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A good place for a getaway, would stay again!

I have stayed here one before and had good memories of this hotel, but the reality today was just average. Beware the expensive and scary car park. If you have a large car or are a nervous parker then avoid this - the spaces are tiny! Very difficult to find anything good or bad about this hotel, just that had nothing much going for it and no great faults.

Nothing to rave about we had an executive room, it was booked for two people but had one robe and one pair of slippers. Had a meal there that was nice but quite basic. No do not disturb sign in the door and housekeeping woke us at nine. Was not impressed as hadn't had a decent sleep for a week due to my daughter being ill so it was supposed to be a nights break so I could sleep in. Expensive I felt for what you get won't book again especially as Hilton by garden inn is close by and much nicer.

On the whole this is a good hotel. The location is near Temple Meads station and is handy for the city centre. Rooms are a decent size and the bed was comfortable. Even though I was overlooking the main road, sound insulation was excellent and I was unable to hear traffic noise. The only thing disappointing with the room was the bathroom which was a bit dirty. The most disappointing aspect of my stay here was the levels of service in the restaurant; it was very poor. One evening I took a seat a... Read more

First time stopping here - room was a good standard with normal amenities - breakfast buffet style which like most hotels can be a slight disappointment as food lukewarm if you aren't lucky enough to get it straight from kitchen but it was ok for the price of nearly £8 each - parking £10 for 24hrs which was good in comparison to some multi story which are extortionate - would stay again if I booked a deal

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Thought it would be old and dated and it was quite the opposite. Room was clean, spacious and modern. Tea and coffee available with plenty of milk which was stocked up daily in the mini fridge. Other facilities included iron/ironing board, hairdryer, bathroom toiletries and good sized safe. Car parking is £10 per day, underneath the hotel. Didn't eat or drink in the hotel but it always looked busy. Staff polite and friendly. Location was within walking d... Read more

Good quality of hotel for the money. Clean, friendly staff, nice bar and reception area, and although tight, plenty of spaces to car in underground car park. Excellent location and just a short walk into the main central area for restaurant's, bar's and entertainment etc. Bedrooms are a generous size and despite being at front no real noise can be heard from street outside.

I was staying at the Novotel on a weekend business trip in Bristol. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel was comfortable with a very filling and attractive breakfast buffet in the morning. At the weekend it was quite busy with families with children, though there may have been some kind of special offer.

Attended a conference at the hotel 5/6 November which was superb. The facility was perfect to hold this event. As we had travelled to attend the event, we decided to book a room to stay overnight after the conference to save travelling back in the dark. Once the conference had ended we asked the staff where we could dine out with kids - not 1 suggestion was forthcoming EVEN THOUGH it was in the heart of Bristol. Very disappointed with the front of desk staff. The kids beds weren't made unti... Read more

Congratulations to the management team as our stay was first class from check in to check out. On arrival we were greeted by happy staff and check in was fast and courteous. Our bedroom was spacious, spotlessly clean and very quiet. We used the bar and restaurant, all the staff we met were very attentative without being overbearing and delivered first class service. As i said, a credit to the management team for running a very efficient and comfortable hotel in the heart of Bristol. Good job.

Stayed at this hotel for one night with my 2 eight year olds as we were in Bristol to see a show at the Hippodrome. I chose the hotel primarily for its relatively central location and the fact that it had on site parking (at a charge of £10.50 for 24 hours). Negotiating the car park was our first challenge! It is very tight indeed and the spaces were tiny with pillars everywhere. I managed to squeeze my car into a space after driving around for a while but I noticed that several people had had... We've stayed here a few times and will do so again. The best thing for us is the location. Liked: - Comfortable and clean rooms - Decent breakfast - You can easily walk to train station or into town for shops/entertainment - Very close to a Tesco for buying snacks Didn't like: - We were offered a cheaper rate for breakfast when we checked in compared to what was available when we made the online booking - You have to ask for veggie sausages and gluten free bread at breakfast rather than it bei... I have stayed here a few times over the last couple of years. It is in a convenient location. Near the train station and near my offices. It is also not too far from the city centre. Service is always good here. Upon arrival I received a voucher for a free drink because I am an Accor member and this was any drink. This was a nice touch and much appreciated. Breakfast is always consistent. A good choice and well cooked. Rooms are clean and the hotel is clean and well maintained. I can r... Read more

Would highly recommend this hotel. Comfortable and great value. The breakfast is superb and it is conveniently located for the station & local attractions. You expect it to be more expensive but you definitely get value for money here. I have stayed here a number of times and thoroughly enjoy it. My hotel of choice for when I'm down on business.

I stayed in a standard queen bed room with a sofa. The room was clean, well sized and had a decent bath room. The staff had ensured I would have a room with a bath when I made the booking by phone - they were extremely helpful. There is a little noise from the road but not enough for me to bother with earplugs. And the prices were very reasonable. Very happy with my stay and I will return again.

The reception staff were friendly enough although check in was very slow , our friends were at the other end of the hotel & 2 floors up ! . We were offered to book breakfast which turned out to be half the online booking price which is a bit odd. This hotel claims to be 4 star Yet our room was probably the most basic I have ever stayed in. The tv stand was broken at both ends and the door stop to the ensuite was hanging off !!! 1 star max !
