At only £10 more than nearby budget hotels this is great value. We'll furnished bedroom and good looking bar and restaurant areas. Pool is functional, but is in the basement so don't expect natural light or air. Plenty of 6pm to 8am free street parking around the back and sides of the hotel.

Stayed here before and this trip was everything I expected and more. Huge room with 2 double beds, all the facilities you could wish for in the room, and the hotel has a good bar, restaurant, great leisure facilities and great staff. For me the location is perfect being only 2 minutes from the construction project I am working on. Love this hotel and will definitely be back.

The rooms are large, light and airy. There is little corridor noise and the curtains provide a good level of blackout. It is located on the Southern fringe of the City Centre so only a short walk to a number of good restaurants. The staff are very attentive. Breakfast is above average for this level of hotel. Car parking is available on nearby streets if the hotel's one is full. The pool is small! Overall this is a very good hotel for the price.

, I am very fortunate to have stayed at this hotel - the quality of service is simply fantastic. When I mentioned at reception that there was a slightly strange aroma in my room the manager immediately came to the room with me and agreed there was a small issues that needed to be rectified and immediately moved me to a much larger room, explaining that the hotel was very busy and the larger room was the best available for my stay. My husband ran a course at this hotel so I tagged along. The hotel was very nice. We had the basic room and it was huge. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern, pretty and had a lovely huge bathtub as well as a walk in shower. There were lots of huge windows that did not open and the room was very hot even with the air conditioning blowing at it's coldest temperature. Also, I don't recommend the food in the hotel restaurant. It is very expensive for what you are served. My husb... Read more

Booked 3 rooms for a weekend break. When we first checked in one of the rooms we were allocated was absolutely disgusting, it smelt like rotten cheese.... disappointing since the decor was lovely. We were given another room which was fine. We used the pool which was a huge disappointment, it was very shabby and dark in the pool area. The location of the hotel is good for exploring the city centre. Breakfast was good.

Fantastic weekend in a great hotel. Big rooms, lovely decor, excellent breakfast and bar menu. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Ideal location for Bristol's restaurants, bars and clubs as well as close to the shops. Spa facilities offered a range of treatments, my head massage was sooo relaxing! Small swimming pool but enough for a few lengths and a relaxing dunk. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will return for a weekend break. Thank you!

The facilities were easily up to 4 star rating and all worked well even the early morning alarm call and the taxi to the airport at 4.00am. The location is perfect if you want to visit the harbourside with its many bars and restaurants - Temple Meads station is a short walk away and the main shopping area a bit further. 3 stars at best if that. It looks nice at first glance but on closer inspection falls way below the standards expected from a 4* hotel. Water marks on spoons, dirty sheets left on bed just made up again, kettle that doesn't seem to know when it's boiled, TV without any remotes and dust every where. On the plus side the spa is not bad although overpriced for its services.

This hotel is fine. The rooms are a fine size for one but for two it would be a squeeze. The decor was perfectly acceptable. Reception was friendly. There was no where to put your suitcase. The toiletries were poor and were replaced every day which seemed like a waste. The gym was tiny but it had everything I needed. 'A bit let down' is my overall opinion from the 1 night stay in this Mercure Hotel. My husband booked this hotel for my 30th birthday as a surprise. He was looking for a nice hotel with spa close to the city centre. We travelled to Bristol (first timers) with the intention of enjoying the city but also relaxing in the hotel spa, Therefore the location of the hotel just a stroll from the city centre was perfect, Positive score for the hote location! The check-in process at the hotel reception ... Read more

As a treat for my mum I took her to Bristol to see the Rocky Horror Show, I selected this hotel from a deal I found on bookings.com. the hotel said they had an indoor pool and spa, it was also a short walk to theatre, so I thought great! However I can't help but feel it didn't live up to my expectations for the best rated hotel 2015. Reception area was busy with hen parties arriving for the weekend. The pool was small and filled with children playing (unable to relax) their spa consisted of a ... Read more

Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average. Pool was ok but didn't use any of the spa facilities. Hotel in a good location, 10 minute walk to town centre. Ideal place to rest your head. We would stay here again.

I had not intended to stay at the Holland House Hotel. My booking was with the Mercure Brigstowe Hotel. Unfortunately, when I arrived at that hotel for my pre-booked, paid in full overnight accommodation, they had double booked the room. To add insult to injury, they had not bothered to inform me of this fact, although I had telephoned them to say, due to an emergency in my family, I would be arriving very late. I actually arrived at 4.30am, when I was immediately told they had no room for me a... Read more

I stay here every week for business and the quality of the hotel is very good. It is in a ideal location. Car parking pricey at £13 per night, car parking free from 5pm - 9am around the hotel. Food is good quality. Small gym and pool but still very good. Room quality is excellent and staff always happy to help.

The room are okay, very standard rooms even the superior suites, nice comfortable bed, some little issues with the electro ic divises, nice staff at the hotel, basic breakfast, all in all, it was okay but the price was too expensive for what we got!

All in all very good, it has had a re-furb since my last visit. Condition of public areas in now superb. Facilities wise it is world class and good value. Very good reception and bar staff. Great room, good Wifi all in all a much improved place. Now for the niggles, we had dinner in the hotel. Very average food at very high prices. We paid 130 for 3 burgers, 1 pasta dish an entry level bottle of wine and a cheese toasty.... Also there was a very young man who was thrown off center because 3/4 ... Read more

Great location Clean hotel Very nice sized room and very comfy bed Didn't have breakfast but did use the spa which was very nice and a lovely end to our weekend Was good to be able to leave the car in the car park as it was £13.50 for 24 hrs and parking in the city can be pricey - 10 min walk to the main bars along the waterfront

Very poor customer service when booking spa day. Mis advised on treatments and cost of package. Never wanted to resolve the issue just said could cancel get refund not helpful a week before going. Lady on the phone was very rude to myself and my sister when calling. Lunch was included all it was a toasted sandwich had to pay extra for chips etc. Dont really feel this could be classed as a lunch. Opted for a pedicure all this was a file and polish to be told limited time so can not do a full ped... Read more

We picked up a good late rate from Accor for a night out in Bristol and although the hotel isn??t right in the centre it really isn??t too far to walk (weather permitting). We were checked in efficiently and our room was a very good size, with a bathroom that featured a (very large) separate bath and shower. (Note ?? a friend also staying that night must have had a slightly smaller room as he said he had no bath.) The bed was also very comfortable. The bar area of the hotel is good, althou... Read more

The reception at this hotel is lovely and modern and you get the feeling you have mad the right choice. However we had the regular room with double bed. Upon arrival I was shocked with how small the room was and the bathroom. Clean but small. We ordered breakfast to our room and there was a few mistakes when they quite happily corrected. The restaurant and bar area is nice. Location is quite a walk to the shops. We booked a massage and it was ok not Great, although staff are friendly enough. ... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights on a hen weekend and the hotel was excellent. The rooms were all a nice size, very clean, with nice bathrooms. Breakfast was great and we all had a treatment at the spa. I'd definitely consider staying here again if I was going to Bristol. The only negative I can say is that it'd be nice to have a hair dryer in the room rather than having to call reception.
