From check in to check out we encountered friendly helpful staff. Our room was lovely and clean with a river view. The bed was firm and comfy, the shower was good and the TV over the bath was an unexpected luxury. We had dinner in the restaurant before going to the theatre, which was delicious and well priced. The lady behind the bar was lovely late in the evening as we got a late night drink after the show. Breakfast the next morning was bountiful with so much choice. We didn't order anyt... Read more

Stayed here for an overnight. Lovely room, very friendly and accommodating staff, the small complaint I have and it is very small is that our room was extremely warm and the air con didn't seem to be working or cooling the room. We had a nice breakfast and a quick and efficient check-out. Overall a very good stay.

Mercure Brigstow is a clean and quite modern hotel in a waterside location, within walking distance of many attractions. We were upgraded to a top floor balcony room which was well appointed apart from the smallish bed (I'm too used to travelling in US where King beds are the norm). This would have been an excellent room for a single traveller. We did not use the hotel restaurant (had steak at The Ox - strongly recommended), but had a nightcap in the bar which was comfortable enough. Staff we... Read more

Spent two nights here on business, I was upgraded to one of the 6th floor suites, altogether a pretty good hotel, nice and clean, helpful staff and a well appointed room. Comfortable bed. The hotel is right next to some student accommodation and consequently you can get a bit of early hours noise from the street, but I suppose I was young once! The parking in the NCP is very expensive and if your car is larger than a standard saloon it can be a bit tight (4x4 with rails will scrape)... Read more

We stayed for one night in a lovely double room overlooking the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly; the hotel was central and evidently well looked after. Our room was uncomfortably warm at night and it seemed as though the air con was broken. This did impact on our sleep but we don't think it would put us off from returning.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Bristol. The hotel is in a central location and we found it easy to walk to most places from here. The hotel is on the riverside and I would recommend a room on the riverside there's a pleasant view. The only thing was it was a little noisy with people walking by ( there a lively pub just a few doors along). We found the room functional rather that luxurious, but it had everything we needed. The Hotel itself is pretty good excellent staff and good rooms. We were given a privilege room which was a good size, nice views of the river. The bathroom came complete with TV in it! upgraded on arrival (payed for of course) 1st room had a toilet that wouldn't flush properly and a dirty coffee machine - moved rooms - 2nd room ok - apart from squeaky flooring, shower adequate at best and air conditioning pathetic (and this was a comment repeated by another guest) No parking for even a motorcycle - not even in the service yard - there didn't even appear to have a drop off area to unload your luggage. Not recommended at all.

Room (standard) was spacey, clean and more than enough for a nights stay. The food on the evening was gorgeous and the breakfast delicious. Superb location with the harbour attractions, St. Nicholas Market and the main shopping center nearby. There is a multitude of cafes, restaurants and bars in the vicinity but the hotel is in a very quiet location. Best of all was the friendly helpful nature of all the staff I met.

This is a good hotel in a great location. The hotel was clean and the rooms were well proportioned. Our bathroom was massive (our friends in another room said the same) and we all had a great nights sleep. We parked in a neighbouring multistorey and were able to get discount through the hotel on departure. Bristol is a lovely city and a lot of it can be explored on foot from here.

It was ok, not the best stay in an Accor hotel. Very difficult to communicate with staff, especially over the phone. Stayed there a couple of nights ago on a business trip to the area. The location is potentially great but what they don't tell you is that they have no parking, and you have to carry your bags through from an adjacent NCP. That car park is stupidly expensive despite a pitiful discount offered by the hotel, and the parking spaces are tiny. The room was clean and modern but several lightbulbs had failed, and the bathroom was a bit grubby. I note other guests also commented on the lightbulb issue- ... Read more

The location is perfect. On the river with a ferry stop very near and bu stops just round the corner. I was given a room without a view and, when asked, they moved me to one with a very pleasant view of river and trees. The staff couldn't be more helpful, even getting me a sheet and blanket instead of the duvet. I had a meal in one evening and it was fine, but the highlight foodwise was the breakfast. I would have rated 1/5 but the hotel & rooms looked nice and clean and the staff were friendly enough. However, the sleeping bit which is the most important was impeded by the bed being incredibly hard; it was like sleeping on concrete. Staff were friendly and professional. The food served at the restaurant was very nice and the complementary breakfast was quite excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip - perfectly located in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Overlooking the river, a 10 minute walk from Cabot Circus one way, the wonderful markets the other way, theatres and the waterside all very quickly accessible. Very stylish rooms, bar & restaurant reasonable. Very slick check in. Some great independent bars and restaurants along the same cobbled street in a lovely part of the city. It felt delightfully quaintly European. A grea... Read more

Excellent location, attractive rooms and superb bathrooms. Stayed two non-consecutive nights and enjoyed very good rates - one night was an amazing £53. Only drawback is having to use an NCP car park about 200 yards away which costs £15.70 after hotel discount for overnight use.

Nice hotel next to the river in the heart of the city. Parking for three nights £63. They offer a discount if you get your parking ticket validated. Unfortunately when I left early in the morning the receptionist was not on reception so I had to pay the full £63. I complained to the hotel the next day and was fobbed off so I complained to the head office. They kindly refunded the full cost of my stay (minus the £63). The staff were very smiley but lacked any real service hospitality ac... Read more

I won a competition to stay at the Mercure Bristol Brigstow hotel which I was very chuffed about especially since a friend of mine lives there and due to my boyfriend's cat allergy we can't stay with her. We got the train down from Leeds very early on the Saturday morning so we were in Bristol for 11.30. We had decided to spend the day in Bath but the hotel is very conveniently located for the train station and we were able to leave our case there for the day. The staff were very friendly and as... Stayed for two nights for a work trip. First morning breakfast was a late one at 8:15am and it was fine, but the next day at 7:30am breakfast was much better. More choice of cereals, drinks, bread and butter on the tables. It's a shame the staff don't replenish, perhaps more time serving and less time chatting... Other than that, the room was good, evening meal good and served quickly. Fan coil unit in room didn't do its job which meant window open and noise from street. Everything was clean an... Read more

Basic hotel. Rooms clean - lovely bathrooms with a tv. Communal read in need of some attention. Tatty carpet on stairs, chipped paint in places. On checking in a dirty, plastic bin is visible behind the reception desk. These little things make a difference. Friendly restaurant and a good breakfast for £10.

I stayed here for one night whilst working, it was a nice walk from Bristol Temple Meads station and easy to find. The hotel itself is lovely, and the room was great for me. Upon arrival the reception staff were really friendly and checked me in quickly. I ordered room service, the menu had a really good range to choose from and was delivered to me within 30 minutes, steaming hot! Will definitely look to stay here again the next time I'm in Bristol for work.

This was our first stay in Bristol and we were happy that we'd chosen The Brigstow Hotel. It's on the riverside just off the Bristol Bridge. It is within walking distance of Bristol Temple Meads railway station - but with luggage it's better to have a taxi. We stayed for 3 nights then went to stay with friends and returned to the city for one more night before our flight home. The first 3 nights we had a spacious corner room. We think that is was a room for wheelchair users as it had a w... Read more

Very comfortable and spacious, with good extras of Coffee Machine as well a full Tea making. Staff very helpful and nothing too much trouble at breakfast which had a good variety. Great location as right on the river and on a River Ferry stop. Will be going again for sure.

I stay at this hotel on a regular basis for business. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the decor is boutique, with plush interior and great views of the river from the rooms on the top floor. There are plenty of amenities provided, including mini bar, iron, ironing board and coffee maker in the rooms, which are all quite spacious with large comfortable beds. Would never have imagined watching TV whilst enjoying a soak in the bath, but to my amazement there was a small screen set into the tiles. Cleanliness was of a very high standard and the bed was extremely comfortable. Excellent value and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

When you've paid extra for breakfast you expect it to be on the breakfast room list without being left hanging round while your room numbers are checked with reception. Rooms not cleaned properly. Bra left by previous occupant on the floor by the wardrobe. Sheets were not clean. Very poor standard of care
