From check in to check out we encountered friendly helpful staff. Our room was lovely and clean with a river view. The bed was firm and comfy, the shower was good and the TV over the bath was an unexpected luxury. We had dinner in the restaurant before going to the theatre, which was delicious and well priced. The lady behind the bar was lovely late in the evening as we got a late night drink after the show. Breakfast the next morning was bountiful with so much choice. We didn't order anyt... Read more

Stayed here for an overnight. Lovely room, very friendly and accommodating staff, the small complaint I have and it is very small is that our room was extremely warm and the air con didn't seem to be working or cooling the room. We had a nice breakfast and a quick and efficient check-out. Overall a very good stay.

Mercure Brigstow is a clean and quite modern hotel in a waterside location, within walking distance of many attractions. We were upgraded to a top floor balcony room which was well appointed apart from the smallish bed (I'm too used to travelling in US where King beds are the norm). This would have been an excellent room for a single traveller. We did not use the hotel restaurant (had steak at The Ox - strongly recommended), but had a nightcap in the bar which was comfortable enough. Staff we... Read more

Spent two nights here on business, I was upgraded to one of the 6th floor suites, altogether a pretty good hotel, nice and clean, helpful staff and a well appointed room. Comfortable bed. The hotel is right next to some student accommodation and consequently you can get a bit of early hours noise from the street, but I suppose I was young once! The parking in the NCP is very expensive and if your car is larger than a standard saloon it can be a bit tight (4x4 with rails will scrape)... Read more

We stayed for one night in a lovely double room overlooking the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly; the hotel was central and evidently well looked after. Our room was uncomfortably warm at night and it seemed as though the air con was broken. This did impact on our sleep but we don't think it would put us off from returning.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Bristol. The hotel is in a central location and we found it easy to walk to most places from here. The hotel is on the riverside and I would recommend a room on the riverside there's a pleasant view. The only thing was it was a little noisy with people walking by ( there a lively pub just a few doors along). We found the room functional rather that luxurious, but it had everything we needed. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was plen... Read more

We stayed at the Brigstow hotel for 2 nights. We have stayed at Mercure Hotels before with mixed results. The hotel is in an excellent location with everything in the city close by. The Hotel itself is pretty good excellent staff and good rooms. We were given a privilege room which was a good size, nice views of the river. The bathroom came complete with TV in it! There were a few cracked titles in the bathroom and no water for a few hours on the last morning. However I can say this w... Read more

upgraded on arrival (payed for of course) 1st room had a toilet that wouldn't flush properly and a dirty coffee machine - moved rooms - 2nd room ok - apart from squeaky flooring, shower adequate at best and air conditioning pathetic (and this was a comment repeated by another guest) No parking for even a motorcycle - not even in the service yard - there didn't even appear to have a drop off area to unload your luggage. Not recommended at all.

The location is excellent and the room large and airy with lovely shower. I also recommend the Son Excellence red wine in the bar. Unfortunately I was not well whilst in Bristol and spent far more time than I would like in my room. Breakfast was good. Caroline says the sausages are excellent.

We stayed at the Brigstow for 2 nights, we use Mercure hotels regularly and wasn't disappointed, nice large clean room and adjoining bathroom which overlooked the river (not that we could see it as the trees were blocking) but not a problem, we were in a privilege room. The hotel is situated withinin easy walking distance of the city and we had no problems with parking as we are a blue badge holder. The Friday night it was noisy but the hotel is in a lively area but didn't stop us from havin... Read more

Room was clean but everything is tired and very worn looking. Cracked tiles in bathroom floor lift not working got stuck in it for 20 mins and no apology. Bed was like sleeping on a concrete floor it was so hard. Service is not great no helpful smiley staff here. Waited for ages at bar for service twice while staff in back. Breakfast was terrible ive had more selection in an ibis and quality of cooked food was poor. I had to ask again for tea and coffee after waiting 15 mins for it. They took c... Read more

We have just had (what I thought) was another lovely stay at this hotel ... However - at checkout we were made aware that Housekeeping had reported that we had been smoking in the room. As two lifelong non-smokers we were astounded by this accusation, I must say we were also annoyed and more than a little insulted!! I should also make it clear that this childish ticking off for something that we had most definitely not done was carried out in front of every other customer at the front desk!! I s... Read more

Room (standard) was spacey, clean and more than enough for a nights stay. The food on the evening was gorgeous and the breakfast delicious. Superb location with the harbour attractions, St. Nicholas Market and the main shopping center nearby. There is a multitude of cafes, restaurants and bars in the vicinity but the hotel is in a very quiet location. Best of all was the friendly helpful nature of all the staff I met.

This is a good hotel in a great location. The hotel was clean and the rooms were well proportioned. Our bathroom was massive (our friends in another room said the same) and we all had a great nights sleep. We parked in a neighbouring multistorey and were able to get discount through the hotel on departure. Bristol is a lovely city and a lot of it can be explored on foot from here.

It was ok, not the best stay in an Accor hotel. Very difficult to communicate with staff, especially over the phone. One of the staff even admitted their 'English is not good' and their accent was 'a problem'. Which made altering room reservations and ordering room service difficult. Otherwise the stay was good.

Stayed there a couple of nights ago on a business trip to the area. The location is potentially great but what they don't tell you is that they have no parking, and you have to carry your bags through from an adjacent NCP. That car park is stupidly expensive despite a pitiful discount offered by the hotel, and the parking spaces are tiny. The room was clean and modern but several lightbulbs had failed, and the bathroom was a bit grubby. I note other guests also commented on the lightbulb issue- ... Read more

We stayed for 2 night's during June and the room was very nice, however despite my husband whilst making the booking and requesting a disabled room with a shower seat the seat/chair was missing. My husband spoke to the staff and was told that it wasn't available to the next day. The following morning my husband asked when it would be available to be told it was in use and not available. We tried several more times to find out when it would be available before asking to speak to the management ... Read more

Stayed here the weekend before xmas for a couple of concerts in Bedminster, but enjoyed the local life on Welsh Back too. Parking on street easy enough overnight then in NPC adjacent second day. Lots of good tips from desk staff. Decent enough room.

Check in was smooth and efficient. Room was great. Very comfortable bed and really liked it. The staff at breakfast very attentive and helpful. All credit to the breakfast staff and chef. The business centre is one of the best I've attended. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Every need and request catered for. So efficient. Views of canal and atmosphere all added to the charm of this place. Book. You'll be glad you did.

The location is perfect. On the river with a ferry stop very near and bu stops just round the corner. I was given a room without a view and, when asked, they moved me to one with a very pleasant view of river and trees. The staff couldn't be more helpful, even getting me a sheet and blanket instead of the duvet. I had a meal in one evening and it was fine, but the highlight foodwise was the breakfast. This was really excellent in every way. I can't wait to go back.

Spent a night here when visiting Bristol for our anniversary. We had a superior double on the 4th floor overlooking the river. View was somewhat spoilt by the huge trees right outside the room. Room was spotlessly clean and very modern in appearance. Bed was firm but comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room and all the facilities you would expect. Staff at the hotel were polite and helpful. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection of cereals and hot and cold food. We would defi... Read more

We checked in online for a 2 night stay, but, when we arrived the receptionist was not aware of this. Our 'Privilege' room promised views of the river and city, but, all we could see was trees! The first mornings breakfast was stone cold. When we complained we were told that the heater wasn't working. Wehad to ask for a refund as it was inedible! We went out for lunch and upon return found that we couldn't get into our room. Back down to reception to find they had accidentally cancelled our keys a... Read more

We stayed here once again for two nights in July 2016. I would highly recommend this hotel for its comfort level, location, quality of breakfast, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. It's within walking distance to literally hundreds of bars and restaurants and also the main city centre shopping mall. We will return again. Many thanks.

I would have rated 1/5 but the hotel & rooms looked nice and clean and the staff were friendly enough. However, the sleeping bit which is the most important was impeded by the bed being incredibly hard; it was like sleeping on concrete. This resulted in getting next to no sleep and really bad back in the morning which wasn't ideal to say the least as I had a very long day ahead of me. I'll be steering clear of Mercure, I'll stick to Premier Inn from now on. At least you know what you're getting ... Read more

In general the hotel is nice, in a really good location and in walking distance to most of the attractions on offer in Bristol. It was suitably located for us, as we were attending the Grillstock festival, which was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel Our rooms were quite spacious but unfortunately looked out onto the courtyard where the rubbish bins were located, so the view was forgettable! We only ate breakfast and the cooked offering was memorable for all the wrong reasons, as was the coff... Read more

We have stayed here a few times but our last few visits have been to The Radisson Blu. The welcome was very poor. Although there were three staff on duty the Italians in front of me had their undivided attention ( they were collecting one bag that had been left for storage) finally the one non Italian member of staff did engage with me and checked me in. As, initially only one night with breakfast for two was booked, but then our plans changed and I was staying for two nights on my own, this was... Read more

When we arrived we were told we had to park in the NCP car park although we did get discount for staying at the hotel, this cost us £15.70 for one night. We booked a twin room online but AFTER paying we were told we had a double with a queen bed. I telephoned the hotel but was told they had given us this because there were no twin rooms left.
