Not great to be honest. Room was quite dated and tired decor wise - looked like it has last been decorated in the 1990s. The bathroom was the biggest let down - really old fashioned tiles and a bath with a shower curtain (personal bug bear, as no matter how high quality they are, they always smell of pissy washing). The Windows overlooking the balcony were filthy and the room was really hot. There was air con but this was an industrial sized unit put into the room, near the window which was ... Read more

We stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff here are wonderful. From the moment we walked up to the reception they were smiling and couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The lady handling our booking asked if we were there for a special occasion and I told her we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Our room wasn't ready so she moved us to another on a lower floor. Every member of staff that we encountered were cheerful and welcoming. The executive lounge was well stocked... Read more

We often stay at Marriott hotels as they are generally consistent in quality and service. This was no exception. Nice clean rooms. Ideal location for our visit. We only had breakfast there but it was good. No cause for complaint. Will go back on our next visit to Bristol.

We were a group of eight girls staying for one night at the Marriott. On check in, we had three separate bookings but they could see we were together so they asked if we wanted our rooms next to each other. We accepted and thought it was very nice of them to offer and then they tried to wack a£100 deposit on us because we were a group. We decided we didn't want to pay this so our rooms were separated, which was fine. The other charge they try to spring on you is breakfast. We had two rooms... Read more

As part of a chain of international hotels one expects a certain level of service and quality from a Marriott and this one dissapoints. Front desk service is lacking and rooms are in major need of a makeover - from sagging beds, to old fixtures the hotel is poorly managed. One plus is the hotel is near a large outdoor shopping area with many restaurant choices within walking distance.

Just returned from a weekend stay at Bristol City centre Marriot. I read a lot of reviews which commented that rooms were old and tired so I was apprehensive. Must say from start to finish everything was excellent, we were given a free room upgrade and a welcome card with a bottle of wine and chocolates. Staff were excellent and so was breakfast. Only regret was not booking the executive package, would do next time.

We booked the executive suite and we're pleased with the value of the rooms and services. The room was clean and tidy with an excellent view of Bristol. The nespresso coffee machine in the room was a neat touch and the range of toiletries was great too. Our room had two double beds and were very comfy. As part of the executive suite perks you get access to the executive lounge with free Starbucks coffees, drinks and canapés. The roof terrace was awesome in the sun. The rooms were fairly hot... We had a Friday night here to break up the drive to Cornwall. The car park was right next door. The staff were brilliant - attentive and efficient service. Comfortable rooms. One of the lifts was out of order, meant we waited a while, but I am sure that it's fixed now. I would stay here again if staying in Bristol, for business or pleasure.

Stayed here a couple of nights on business and although the location is great (right in the city centre with access to restaurants and shopping close by) the actual hotel is nothing extraordinary. Marriott needs to do a lot in the UK to update its brand. This hotel had parking that was next door but not attached. So you had to leave and go across a driveway and then up more elevators. Just inconvenient. Club Lounge was not good at all, except for free wine and beer. For breakfast, I dumped... Read more

This hotel is right next to Cabot circus so you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. Although the hotel is surrounded by roads I slept well in a room on the 8th despite being a light sleeper. I booked for one but the room was bigger than my flat! The gym is one of the best equipped that I have seen with dumbbells up to 40kg and a squat rack. WiFi in common areas is free but charged in rooms. Customer service is excellent.

Room 626 - can it provide a good nights sleep? Air con is aging and the fan grumbles - so you cannot have it on and sleep at the same time. Walls - are they paper? Could hear next doors TV and 1130 and his phone call at 0600. Outside the main road gives a low grumble road noise. So in my book it's a straight failure on noise. Bed comfort is good and light suppression is ok - a lot leaks under the door. Bathroom small but ok. Tea and coffee in the room. Reception service was all good. Car... Read more

Spent a lovely weekend in Bristol for our anniversary and we do love a Marriott. Looks a bit dated from the ousted but fresh and modern inside. Got a good deal on breakfasts by pre-paying and usual fab selection including omelettes made to order. Usual high quality bedding. And as a bonus a gift and card from the hotel after we mentioned it was our anniversary. Nice touch. Great location too for exploring the city. Think we'll be back.

Lovely hotel, central location, pleasant bar and excellent staff BUT you can only get free wifi if you book directly with Marriott even if you are a Marriott Rewards member and a frequent stayer at the hotel. Never come across this before so perhaps the policy has changed but in an age when we get free wifi when we stop somewhere for coffee it seems like a poor show.

This hotel is in serious need of a major refurbishment. The exterior structure indicates that it was built in that late 20th century era of concrete monstrosities. The air conditioning is obviously a more recent addition, with a clunky unit attached to the external wall just below the window. The room was stifling even though it was quite cool outside. This hotel is in dire need of a renovation. I am trying to sleep in it now. The room is uncomfortably hot, but the air conditioning is louder than the (loud) traffic outside. I can hear people in adjacent rooms quite clearly. The bathroom is small and very tired, and the shower curtain smells a bit. The decor is reminiscent of the travel lodge Alan Partridge lived in.
