It's the little touches that really make the difference. A coffee machine in the room as well as a kettle. A good selection of teas and lovely biscuits. A fridge with complimentary proper fresh milk and a bottle of water. Venetian blinds as well as curtains to block out the light. Spa treatments that actually last the full session time, rather than spent filling out forms. Above all, staff who are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The only complaint we had was the air con in the restaur... Read more

Very nice rooms and great Spa facilities. Restaurant can be busy and on the expensive side. The hotel is located within a business park so don't expect shops close by. There is a a sister lodge directly opposite where you can find a cash machine.

Having picked this hotel due to proximity my clients HQ, arrived around 1800 checked in immediately the entrance and public areas were really modern and in keeping , my room was allocated on the 3rd it seemed really dated, dark and in need of a revamp , the bathroom looked tired to the point it looked dirty , I enquired then at reception thinking it was a "classic" type room and checked to see if any other ones were available so to make sure I book an upgrade next time I visit ! Have stayed here a couple of times with my family and cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean, the spa is very relaxed and caters for every need. On both occasions we have eaten at the hotel restaurant and the food is very good. I would recommend the chef's table to anyone either for a starter or a main. Breakfast is also excellent. The biggest credit to the hotel however is the staff. Last year I visited with my 9 month old and this year with a ... Read more

Travelling on business I had made a reservation at the Aztec Hotel and Spa in Bristol. What a lovely, lovely hotel. Room/bed were very clean and comfortable. I wish I had the time to take in all the extras (spa/pool-in an environment that allows you to distress and feel revived)! That's how I felt and I did not have time to partake. I was very late to dinner ~2130, but you would have thought I was the first person of the day to arrive. The food was very good and the service was excellent. ... Read more

This hotel does excel in every respect . Surroundings, rooms etc are great . A great breakfast but the best assets are the staff . They were genuinely very helpful and nice . There was a minor technical hitch ref room rate and breakfast which they dealt with brilliantly. Well done to the staff and the guys behind the scenes making this very good operation work

Booked an overnight stay for my husband's birthday. As always we go straight for this hotel as it is a lovely friendly clean hotel with a fantastic pool and spa. We find the staff's attitude and willingness to please second to none. On this particular trip we were so impressed with Jason (in the restaurant) nothing was too much trouble and we felt most welcome- what a top guy ! Looking forward to booking up again.

We stayed here for my sister's hen do on the 'girl's night out' package. They could not have been more helpful, both in the run up to our stay (something I definitely appreciated as the organiser of the group!) and whilst we were there. Whilst there the team were attentive without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The facilities were great and the food amazing!! Had a working lunch and was very impressed by the layout and bar area. Menu and food was excellent, service too, however having ordered fish & chips I asked twice to both waitresses for vinegar. Sadly it didn't arrive by the time I finished. Fish & Chips for me aren't the same without salt and vinegar. Hopefully next time.

My husband booked this hotel as a treat as we were visiting Cribbs Causeway for a day out shopping. As it was my birthday he reserved the premier suite. On arrival we reconfirmed what was included in the rate as the online information is a little ambiguous to say the least ( parking is not included no matter what rate you pay ! ) There were a few niggles - the room was set up for single occupancy ( presume most of their midweek occupancy come from this type of business) however, since we had b... I've been stopping here for 4 years+, there has been some recent refurbishment, but more work is needed. The last 2 times I've been I've had a scolding hot shower that could be turned down, and last night the room had a really badly rusted bath (see picture) with cracked tiles. This really isn't good for a hotel of this price...or any hotel for that matter, and these are things that housekeeping should be reporting, not customers.

Used the Aztec West this week end for our Natiuonal Ral;lay, three nights accommodation for up to 140 people. The staff are very Proffessional in all areas of the hotel. The facilities are first rate as is the service in the restaurant. The rooms are all furnished to a high standard. Very good value for money. Rooms and location are fine and as good as most 4 star hotels but be warned that there are hidden charges for parking (who arrives in a place like this on foot?) & for payment by credit card (who doesn't use these nowadays?). Also no hot water this morning so i asked them to knock something off the bill but they refused! I'll be challenging any credit card transaction that they try and put through!!

Stayed here on a business trip and was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The outside pretty much looks like a bog standard hotel but the interior is smart, welcoming and certainly not like your average Hilton or Marriot chain hotel. The staff were excellent throughout our stay and the food was good. It is not great for wheelchair access as the hotel is spread out on a number of levels. But if that isn't an issue for you then I would recommend it as a good stopover off the M5.
