The hotel upgraded us on arrival......which was a very pleasant surprise .we had booked two rooms and were given two seafront rooms which were very spacious . Very friendly staff, and excellent service. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily.we stayed for three nights and this was our first visit. But we shall definitely come again and also recommend to all our friends.

We opted to upgrade to a room with sea view and terrace which cost about £360 for both of us with half board for 2 nights. We had stayed previously and friends had upgraded to a lovely room. When we arrived in October there was Christmas music and the tree was already up. We found our room to be sadly lacking there was only a small shower no bath and the lighting in the bathroom was so poor my husband could not see well enough to shave. The window was shut and stuffed with toilet paper to keep... Read more

As always went to a new (for us) hotel, read other reviews but as always went with an open mind. Arrived early but reception staff were friendly and helpful. Left car in car park (don't forget to leave the ticket on the dashboard given from reception), and strolled into town. We booked an ocean view room and that's exactly what we had, the room was 309, and consisted of wardrobe area double bed dresser and tv. There is a balcony although it's small and fits two chairs this to me was a bonus as i... Read more

Stayed 15 to 20 May, The Food in the restaurant was first class along with the service, however the Hotel was cold even in the lounge etc. our room 108 was freezing, windows would not close so it was very cold as they let in the wind , no heated towel rail in the bathroom.which was small but clean , the room was basic but also clean.Service in the bars was very slow and it was obvious that staff did not know how to pull a pint as short measure was the norm. Coldest hotel I have ever stayed in. N... Read more

I stayed at the Suncliff for a week in May 2016 and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was superb and, with entertainment most evenings, there was everything to make for a good holiday experience. Bournemouth is a lovely resort and I previously stayed at the Suncliff six years ago. I had a lovely sea view room with it's own terrace and I would say that the room was looking a little 'tired'. However, I believe there is refurbishment programme in progress.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here, maybe it was nostalgia for those halcyon days of the 1970's. Very dated but super clean place, obviously the management are doing everything in nudge this property forward. Staff here are the real credit, very on the ball, and super helpful. This hotel (which stands in the middle of a tight parking lot), is part of three hotels which work together, The Cumberland next door has the Pool area for example. The Suncliffe seems to serve as the main parking place.... Read more

My wife forced me to go on a Majestic Coach holiday, using the self drive option, to this hotel for 4 days (Monday - Friday) recently and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Reviewers are right when they say elements of the hotel are in desperate need of some improvement, but overall its a decent hotel,, with friendly, helpful staff and really great food. We attended mid week during the school holidays. There were a number of kids which was accompanied by the normal screams, tantrum... Read more

Recently stayed in the Suncliff for a friends stag do. There where 12 lads staying and we were placed on the ground floor all in the same corridor. (sensible) Rooms are dated, bathrooms very dated, but both were clean and tidy. Room had comfy beds, basis facilities; tea/coffee, TV, wardrobes. However the wifi didn't work in our room (22) The bar area is nice and has a terrace to sit out on that looks over the beach (kind of). Fortunately we were here on a one night stay, I found the hotel fairly grim. The room was tired looking and the restaurant boasted a cavery Sunday lunch....hmmm....everything frozen defrosted heated and put in front of us! I ordered sorbet for pudding, asking for 3 scoops, the waitress had trouble understanding me, I pointed to the menu and indicated 3 scoops. When my pudding arrived I had 9 scoops! We went out to explore and found that Bournemouth didn't hold the attraction it had for me a... Read more

We recently stayed at the Suncliff hotel from 3rd - 5th June and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a family room with 2 young children. The room was a very good size, a cot was provided for our youngest, even though we hadn't requested one and the room was lovely and clean. It was during the wheels festival, which we were unaware of when we booked, but the hotel was well organised and the parking was excellently managed. Just got back from a 6 night bed and breakfast break from the Suncliffe Hotel. We booked a sea view room the hotel is just across the road from the cliff path that leads down to the beach and its also close to the town centre with a 10 minute walk to the main shopping centre and all the attractions of theatres cinemas etc. So the location is very good but there are a number of things that from my point of view let it down. This was booked with a coach trip. It was fantastic the food and service was second to none ate everything on my plate breakfast just as good. The Hotel is a little tied but very clean. Indoor pool is lovely and warm it's a shame we couldn't use the outdoor one but the weather not good there were great lingers so on a warm day it would have been great. Fabulous sandy beach close by nice shops and a great Park. We really enjoyed and will definitely go back.

We booked a short stay, 4 nights. As my wife is disabled we were allocated room 27 which is on the ground floor and very suitable for disabled people. The room its self would benefit from a little TLC, but was kept very clean. We booked a standard room as we planned on not spending much time in the room. The room was adequate but a little more care with cleaning into the corners would have been nice. The external window sills and windows were in desperate need of cleaning and some of the window fittings were missing. The adjustable mirror in the bathroom didn't adjust and was impossible to use.
