The hotel upgraded us on arrival......which was a very pleasant surprise .we had booked two rooms and were given two seafront rooms which were very spacious . Very friendly staff, and excellent service. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily.we stayed for three nights and this was our first visit. But we shall definitely come again and also recommend to all our friends.

We opted to upgrade to a room with sea view and terrace which cost about £360 for both of us with half board for 2 nights. We had stayed previously and friends had upgraded to a lovely room. When we arrived in October there was Christmas music and the tree was already up. We found our room to be sadly lacking there was only a small shower no bath and the lighting in the bathroom was so poor my husband could not see well enough to shave. The window was shut and stuffed with toilet paper to keep... Read more

As always went to a new (for us) hotel, read other reviews but as always went with an open mind. Arrived early but reception staff were friendly and helpful. Left car in car park (don't forget to leave the ticket on the dashboard given from reception), and strolled into town. We booked an ocean view room and that's exactly what we had, the room was 309, and consisted of wardrobe area double bed dresser and tv. I stayed at the Suncliff for a week in May 2016 and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was superb and, with entertainment most evenings, there was everything to make for a good holiday experience. Bournemouth is a lovely resort and I previously stayed at the Suncliff six years ago. I had a lovely sea view room with it's own terrace and I would say that the room was looking a little 'tired'. However, I believe there is refurbishment programme in progress.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here, maybe it was nostalgia for those halcyon days of the 1970's. Very dated but super clean place, obviously the management are doing everything in nudge this property forward. Staff here are the real credit, very on the ball, and super helpful. This hotel (which stands in the middle of a tight parking lot), is part of three hotels which work together, The Cumberland next door has the Pool area for example. We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of August and were lucky enough to stay in William suite which had the most lovely views and a lovely room. The building is a work in progress with updating, but the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the person who cleaned our room even tucked in my daughters teddies when the bed was made, which my daughter thought was wonderful. When the whole building is updated and it matches the welcome of the staff it will be amazing!

Booked this hotel at a premium price for a 3 star, as it was in a good location for the Bournemouth half marathon start. So as you can imagine a good nights sleep was needed. Unfortunately outside our room window was the entire air conditioner unit for the hotel which ran all night, so. No sleep. Plus, we travel a lot and the mattress on the bed was the worst we have ever experienced. The room was grotty, with uncleaned areas in the bathroom and bedroom. So after the marathon we cleaned up and c... Read more

Great choice of food for breakfast. Plenty of fruit, yoghurts, croissant, cold meats, cereal, help yourself full English breakfast along with toast, various spreads, fruit juice and as much tea and coffee as you desire. My bed was comfortable, the room was clean and I had a bath (my choice). Good sized tv with most channels. Coffee and tea in room. Staff were very attentive, especially at breakfast. Enjoyable one night stay. No noise to keep me awake and this was a huge bonus for a Saturday ni... Read more

I have been coming here for the past 2 years with family for long weekends and the staff are always so polite and helpful. The food is always great. It has a nice swimming pool and games room. Rooms are always cleaned every morning and fresh bed sheets every day. If you ever need anything the hotel can always provide on your request. Such a lovely place and staff!!!

When we arrived we had a friendly greeting. I had emailed the hotel to tell them it was mums birthday. They wished mum happy birthday and when we got to the room there was a card and some cakes, plus a voucher each for the three of us to have a bucks fizz. Very kind and much appreciated. The room 214 was good with three proper beds. Bathroom was clean but did need a bit of updating. We had a meal at Zorbas Greek restaurant £5 in a taxi. Great fun, music aand plate smashing go on the Saturday as... Read more

Very good service, with a nice view of the sea. bed was comfortable, room was spacious and nice and clean. Far enough away from the town to give some quiet, and yet walking to the town was still possible. facilities at the hotel were very good although I didn't get to use all of them. I particularly liked the evening entertainment, which consisted of a singer doing popular songs from the 60's and 70's. I visit Bournemouth quite often and have been to other hotels. This one is my favourite.

Came for my aunts funeral but stayed 2 days. Treated ourselves to one of the penthouse suits. View was amazing but serious safety concerns regarding the rooms electrics which my husband identified. They did respond the following day and repair the sockets. Mattress on the left of the bed was dreadful and the pillows flat and lifeless and the furniture tired, chipped and scratched. The room was clean and spacious. Staff were polite, helpful and polite and the breakfast great. We were given a £25... Read more

'Turkey and Tinsel' trip in October, strange concept but we had a ball! The staff were fabulous, they seemed genuinely very happy in their work and this showed with the great service with a smile that they maintained all week. Food excellent. Restaurant staff were amazing, especially the manager and the lovely Fabio! Facilities at the hotel were lovely including the pool and sauna. The room was warm and comfortable and the food was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic time dancing with quite possibly the best entertainment we had heard for a while. Excellent staff and customer service, lovely food and good quality on a half board deal with Super Breaks. Two rooms but not happy with one but were offered another which was fine, looks like hotel undergoing refurbish so a bit tatty and in need of attention in some areas and some rooms. Disappointed with the poor Xmas decorations I felt I wanted To go and buy some and liven it up, especially when you visit the Cumberland which is part of the group and that was really lovely and festive. We had to go to Bournemouth on an urgent family matter and had Sunday lunch here twice before. We had what was described as a budget room with breakfast at an amazing price. The room was plenty big enough for 1 night, clean and decorated nicely. The staff were really helpful and the breakfast very good. We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities but will try next time. We will certainly book another budget room next time we have to come to Bournemouth.

We booked for an early November break and were given a room at the top (there is a lift) in the penthouse section, which has obviously been divided into several smaller rooms, one of which was Eugenie, ours (they are all named after the Royal family on this floor). The room was long and narrow with a side on view of the sea from both the bedroom and bathroom windows. the latter being of plain glass so you needed to pull the blind down when carrying out your ablutions, unless you are an exhibiti... We had requested a twin room with space for a travel cot and when we arrived the friendly and welcoming Reception staff had upgraded us to a large and very comfortable Superior sea-facing room. The bar and restaurant staff also couldn't do enough for us and my 8 month old grandson! Thank you Suncliff!

We were a little worried that they could accommodate us all at short notice, two weeks before departure but we needn't have. It also included breakfast which was continental. I would stay again for a nights break. We enjoyed the sauna and the pool which made us feel extremely relaxed. Although the weather w... Read more

Although the vast majority of fellow guests were considerably older than us (we did stay in February out of season!) we enjoyed our stay. Spent one night here as in Bournemouth for an event at the BIC. It is in a pleasant position overlooking the sea and has a nice bar and restaurant. We wanted to dine early so used the 'English pub,' which has a limited typical pub grub menu- not faulting this as my fish and chips were nicely cooked and tasty and my partner had a generous portion of ham with her eggs and chips! The reception was much too small and resembled a dental surgery reception desk with its all-white frontage and a rack o... Read more

Had a very good value break here for two nights with Groupon. The hotel is in a good location near the beach & town centre. It is part of a group of three hotels, but we didn't use the others. Good things are staff (most are very helpful, friendly and work extremely hard), nice warm pool, and location. Not so good are the sauna (more like a fridge), worst shower in our room of any hotel I have ever stayed in, and a little dated.
