The hotel upgraded us on arrival......which was a very pleasant surprise .we had booked two rooms and were given two seafront rooms which were very spacious . Very friendly staff, and excellent service. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily.we stayed for three nights and this was our first visit. But we shall definitely come again and also recommend to all our friends.

We opted to upgrade to a room with sea view and terrace which cost about £360 for both of us with half board for 2 nights. We had stayed previously and friends had upgraded to a lovely room. When we arrived in October there was Christmas music and the tree was already up. We found our room to be sadly lacking there was only a small shower no bath and the lighting in the bathroom was so poor my husband could not see well enough to shave. The window was shut and stuffed with toilet paper to keep... Read more

As always went to a new (for us) hotel, read other reviews but as always went with an open mind. Arrived early but reception staff were friendly and helpful. Left car in car park (don't forget to leave the ticket on the dashboard given from reception), and strolled into town. We booked an ocean view room and that's exactly what we had, the room was 309, and consisted of wardrobe area double bed dresser and tv. I stayed at the Suncliff for a week in May 2016 and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was superb and, with entertainment most evenings, there was everything to make for a good holiday experience. Bournemouth is a lovely resort and I previously stayed at the Suncliff six years ago. I had a lovely sea view room with it's own terrace and I would say that the room was looking a little 'tired'. However, I believe there is refurbishment programme in progress.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here, maybe it was nostalgia for those halcyon days of the 1970's. Very dated but super clean place, obviously the management are doing everything in nudge this property forward. Staff here are the real credit, very on the ball, and super helpful. This hotel (which stands in the middle of a tight parking lot), is part of three hotels which work together, The Cumberland next door has the Pool area for example. Booked this hotel throu great little breaks and got a great deal including free English Heritage membership. Although a busy sunny sunday in august parked in the free carpark around the hotel, and the first thing was the stunning location on the cliff top with views of the beaches. A lovely welcome at reception, room was ready at 14.30 , we had checked in early @1100 and was able to use all facilities and had a drink in the bar before a short 15 min walk into town along the prom. We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of August and were lucky enough to stay in William suite which had the most lovely views and a lovely room. The building is a work in progress with updating, but the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the person who cleaned our room even tucked in my daughters teddies when the bed was made, which my daughter thought was wonderful. When the whole building is updated and it matches the welcome of the staff it will be amazing!

We stayed for 2 nights in Suncliff Hotel 1st night on 1st floor 'Sea View Terrace' room which is very nice with artificial grass on the balcony overseeing the sea. You shouldn't book anything less than that, normal double rooms are facing the road on the back of the building which it isnt very nice. Only problem was with that room, it didnt have aircon. 2nd night we stayed on the 4th floor on the penthouse facing the sea with big balcony! its definitely nice but it isn't 5-6 star penthouse, ver... Me and my partner stayed in the hotel at room 307. The hotel itself is dated but the sea view is amazing. The hotel and restaurant staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Fotini and Ann at reception and Tiago in the restaurant. We had a great time there and we will definitely stay there again.

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children and had a 2 night stay. The staff were very friendly and polite and a special mention to Paola at reception who greeted us with a smile. Fotini also provided towels for us cheerfully. The spa facilities were gratefully used by us all but we were disappointed that the Jacuzzi no longer exists at the hotel. The pool and sauna made up for it though. The room was clean and in a quiet area. Breakfast was nice and the staff attentive. Parking can be a pro... Read more

I had booked 3 nights in a standard room on upper level. What I got on the first night was a budget room on the ground floor. The bathroom was fitted out by the look of it as suitable for someone with mobility issues!! However the wet room drain cover was missing and there were plastic parts sticking up - looked sharp the fold down shower chair fittings were rusty not sure what was in the tile grouting. On entering the bedroom area the first thing you notice is that there is no window and... Read more

I will start with the positives, the staff, bar none were fantastic. The receptionists were helpful and friendly, the bar staff were efficient, the chambermaid (male) was very helpful so high praise for whoever hires and trains them all. We chose the Suncliff because it was advertised as pet friendly, it's not. Small dogs only which we had, but the dogs are only allowed on the terrace outside of one of the restaurants and no where else. We were lucky because it was a sunny trip so we could ... Read more

Just returned from a week in the Suncliff, this Hotel was very busy which is surprising for the standard of accommodation. I have to add that most people were only on short stays. The Hotel is totally dated, bedroom furniture in a very poor state of repair and to be honest I would not be surprised if they had got it off a skip.We were a large party of over 20 and all our guests plus many others that were staying said they same about the rooms. Shabby paint peeling off rusty bathrooms etc. BUT th... Read more

Excellent hotel in an ideal setting in a lovely seaside town. Good service and good facilities. Excellent pool area available. All round excellent weekend break. Breakfast was good. Parking was a bit of an issue but could easily park on the street outside the hotel. Everyone was very welcoming with very good service and attention.

Staff were really nice and friendly. Rooms are in bad need of re-decoration. Looks like 1980s still. Plus our room had loose tap and floor in bathroom not even. Also, Windows need upgrading to double glazing as quiet noisy in the evening from neighbouring hotel entertainment. Swimming pool in hotel needs maintenance, but can use pools in sister hotels which are both outdoors, only one is heated. For a cheap hotel it was fine for a few nights, but with some repairs and maintenance could be br... Read more

Booked for the weekend of the P1 Power boat racing Grand Prix so was surprised to get such a reasonable deal with a great view of the event from the room. Room was a little tired, but clean and more than acceptable for the price, inclusive of breakfast and dinner, which again were perfectly good and edible. Staff were very friendly and accomodating.....

Had a great stay at Suncliffe with family. Beautiful view made up for the dated rooms which could really do with refurbishment. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times and nothing was too much trouble. My grandchildren were made to feel welcome and were treated with respect by all the hotel staff. We had a double room overlooking the car park for 2 nights (111). The hotel was in the process of being decorated which was needed. The room had obviously been recently decorated but unfortunately it was above a vent presumably from a kitchen area in the hotel which was rather noisy. The room was also very hot. The facilities at the hotel and ALL of the staff we encountered were delightfully pleasant and a credit to the hotel. We would visit again but would specify not room 111.

Delicious food & good menu choices both in restaurant for evening meal( included in our deal) & bar food. Very good selection for breakfast, both continental style & traditional English cooked. I have never stayed in this hotel but have visited it many times for events and always found the staff helpful. It has a conference room on the top floor with an amazing view of Bournemouth Bay. On this occasion I was visiting for a fundraising event and decided to have a bar meal. I had a Prawn Sandwich, which tasted great but the sauce was very thin and dripped all over my hands.

The outside of the property is a bit tired & needs some attention - inside it the decor is in better order and it was generally quite clean. We stayed in a sea view family room - I was told it had a double two single beds (rather than bunk beds) but the second bed was a camp bed rather than a proper bed. Whilst the room was clean we did find a hair clip and a pill on the floor so the cleaning could have been more thoughor. The shower was also a bit tricky to get right - it had a mixer tap whic... Situated on the beachfront and within walking distance of Bournemouth pier, the location couldn't be any better. A very friendly and professional welcome at reception and an explanation of the facilities, including a gym and a number of swimming pools. The room we stayed in was very small and basic but fairly clean and comfortable. For the price paid it is good value for money.

Room for 2 with breakfast for 2 nights which was really good deal. We enjoyed very, only mattress was hard and you could feel metal parts of it. Staff really helpful and polite. Maybe view wasn't on sea site but probably we booked too late. Shame that we have only one day good weather.
