The hotel is very wel located, a short walking distance from the city centre, and with a great view over sea. The rooms are good, and the facilities excellent. A nice bar and good breakfast buffet. So, good value for money.

We pre-booked this hotel before travelling having checked reviews on Trip advisor. The hotel was grand and although we hadn't booked a sea view our room was at the side of the hotel and we were able to see the sea (through the dirty windows). We managed to check out the leisure facilities (after check out) on our last day and it was a great way to relax after a busy long weekend in Blackpool. The only complaint was the wait for breakfast each morning although the hotel do advise you when the bus... Read more

Stayed here one night B&B before flying on holiday from Manchester. Never slept all night as our room was at the back of the hotel backing on to a fairly busy road. As there was no double glazing,we were kept awake most of the night with cars passing. Also,we had no air conditioning but there was some kind of aircon unit right outside our window which kept kicking in every so often. Also thought the breakfast was of very poor quality.

We arrived slightly early when we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of a booking made a few weeks ago. This was soon sorted by Adam on reception. He also double checked the spa booking made at the same time. Our room was comfy and clean. It was also quite. We received a call to confirm our bookings for spa treatments. My husband had a back and shoulder massage and I had a facial. The therapist was lovely and polite.Only drawback to the leisure and spa area are the stairs, which I struggled with. In ... Read more

A regal classic look and very comfortable beds with a good size tv and bathroom had great space, very clean and shower was like a therapy.

The view from the room was scafolding, which although was not pleasant was unavoidable. The decor was disgraceful, the response from the hotel poor. Use a premier inn.Paint was flaking of sills, yellowed paint where door knobs were replaced. Worn carpet. Absolutely shocking.

Great hotel, friendly staff, good food, large rooms, good facilities. But needs air con in the rooms. It was like sleeping in a sauna. check in was efficient, and got into my room before the stated 3pm time. Slight confusion on my party size, but this was due to Booking.com getting it wrong. It was quickly resolved. Staff were excellent, and made my 7 year old daughter feel special and important

We arrived early and our room was not ready. This wasn't a problem as it was clear from our booking that check now is from 3pm. However we did all the paperwork so we just had to pick up our room key when we got back. The hotel is lovely. Downsides were the bar was very hot and also for those that smoke there wasn't a covered area for them to go apart from the steps of the hotel. Had another fantastic 5 night stay at the Imperial Blackpool this Whitsun half term made all the better by the weather. The hotel does show signs of ware in places but this is an old hotel so this is par for the course. Plenty of hot water in bathroom but room rather a strange shape which necessitated squeezing past the length of the bath to get to the toilet. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, either buffet or menu choices, but the carvery was overcooked and overpriced. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful and the bar was pleasant to sit in at the end of the day. I would only return if a much better room was available.

Approximately 2 hours later we ordered two soft drinks at the bar and gave the bar tender our room number. Nothing had been recorded to say we had this facility. Slightly annoying but we paid in cash. We then found out at reception that unfortunately it can take hours before this facility is shown o... Read more

Stayed here for just one night, arrived early and was able to check in. The room was right at the back of the hotel, not the cleanest, bits on the floor, a hair grip wedged under the bed and broken biscuit not hoovered up, the tea cups looked like they needed a good wash and the kettle lid was broken. Slightly disappointing as we have stayed here before in a sea view room and it was amazing. Beds were comfy & clean, but the whole hotel was hot, we did ask for a fan which came about 30 mins lat... We got a deal on this hotel and booked for a one night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast and a bottle of wine at such good value for mid-summer that our expectations were suspiciously low. How wrong could we be! We were met by wonderfully friendly staff at Reception who were welcoming and professional and provided us with all the information we needed to make full use of the facilities and find our way round, etc. (Special thanks here to Diane for laughing at/putting up with my partner's atte... We always stay here when we come to blackpool, with all the hotels along the promenade looking very wore down, The Imperial always attracts us back. May not look much but definitely a stay that is worth it! Staff are so lovely too and the breakfast is absolutely delicious!

We stayed here as a family of four for a 2 night break in blackpool, we found the booking and checking in easy, we found the hotel to be clean and well presented, the breakfast was good but very busy, the hotel is old and has character but is in need of some moderising especially the bathrooms, staff were pleasant and helpful. We felt that it was not made clear when booking or checking in that you had to pay for childrens breakfast when checking out, we had booked and prepaid for for, 2 adults ... Read more

So difficult to review this hotel hence the 'but ' in my title. The hotel is lovely to a point the staff, from The receptionist to the cleaner to the restaurant staff are wonderful , all so helpful so nice. But the rooms are a let down at my age you need a nice comfortable room , bed hard. I feel that you have to upgrade and pay top price for a decent room here. standard rooms a no go. I had to change rooms twice , first room had mould on the walls and a tiny window I felt like I was in prison... Read more

This is Blackpool's finest hotel, it is unrivalled in my opinion. Other hotels may match for comfort and service, but lack the beautiful Victorian architecture, and other hotels dating to the same era are in desperate need of refurbishment, but not the Imperial. Everything about it; from the wide stairways and corridors to the high ceilings scream class. The all you can eat (and stuff in your pocket) breakfast is excellent. The restaurant menu for evening meals is limited to around a half dozen ... Read more

the biggest asset in this hotel are it's staff...8 of us stayed here this week to celebrate my sisters 50th. The hotel was clean and comfortable and many aspects of it are still really impressive. Breakfast was lovely. The thing that set the hotel apart from so many I have stayed in were the staff. Without exception they were friendly and more than helpful. If you are staying in Blackpool I would recommend the hotel.

We stayed here for the weekend and it was a good stay, our room itself was lovely and the spa facility's are great. The staff were all helpful and the breakfast in the morning was very good. However the heated towel rail was on in the bathroom and it was so hot!!! We opened the window and it must have been to the back of the hotel as outside it was covered in pigeons and bird spikes, it was horrible and we couldn't leave the window open because of the noise of the birds.

Stayed here 5/6th June 2016.The weekend was exceptionally hot and the room did not have aircon. which did make the room uncomfortable. I appreciate we don't have this type of weather that often in this country, but the room was quite small which made the situation worse. As other reviewers have noted this grand old hotel is somewhat tired but I know they are in the midst of refurbishing the rooms. The Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was good. We did have a problem with the safe which... Read more

This hotel is really stunning looking from the outside. It's very nice on the inside too but you get the picture when I commented to my missus that the hotel must have looked spectacular in it's day! It is located in a quieter part of the seafront just a short tram ride away from the noise, hussle and bustle of all the Blackpool attractions. We booked 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 6 year olds) for 3 nights with bed and breakfast. When we got our room we were a bit disappointed, as... Read more

Visited this hotel a week ago for a 1 night stay romantic break "wine dine sparkle"offer. We had read reviews for this hotel most of which were positive but some had said that it was old, tired dated? All I can say is we have stayed at ALOT of hotels in Blackpool and absolutely NONE are are a match for this one! Classy, elegant, stylish right up our street!. If the rest of the hotels in Blackpool were like this one it would have a better reputation! The room was very nice with a seaview which... Read more

We stayed here on a deal offering bed breakfast, dinner and a bottle of wine.it was good value for money however the room was very small with no outlook as it had frosted glass.the ensuite was about as big as the bedroom itself! The food was very good. The staff on reception were very helpful and accommodating. The waiters less so! Parking was £5 per night. There was a spa but we did not use it. The hotell Itself is quite impressive and must have been quite spectacular in its day.

Grand old hotel in good location for North shore. Booked a Superior room at £105 room only so not cheap by Blackpool standards. Reception area nice old style. Room perfectly positioned for sea view but standard overall poor especially given price. It was spacious but the sofa and chair were worn out, furniture dated, paper coming off walls and drafty. I think anywhere in Blackpool charging anything above £75 per night needs a pretty good standard of accommodation. Sorry Imperial, love you but... Read more

Having looked at some of the 4 star reviews on this hotel we must have been deposited in a different hotel or somebody is having a laugh! WOW! never again. This hotel should be renamed the dingy time warp hotel. Booked 3 nights online and paid in advance for a premium room. What we got, after waiting ages to find a parking space at an extra £5 per night, was a small dingy and dark room in the attic! The sea view consisted of a 2 feet wide window, there was no ventilation and believe it or not... Read more

We got a bargain 4-night stay by booking in the 'winter sale', and went for the Deluxe Sea View room. And what a room! Smelled of fresh paint, and obviously newly refurbished, with lovely decor in shades of grey, a new bed, and a spotless, stylish bathroom. Breakfast was fab - the usual plentiful buffet and friendly, helpful staff (special shout out to Nathan and Natalie). If you time it carefully, there's no queue, and we got a sea-view table most mornings. We also had lunch from the bar, whi... Read more

This is such a lovely hotel. Breakfast was great and room was clean and nicely decorated. It was just so hot and had to pester the staff for a fan which I would have bought if on the first night if I'd known,I would not get one until the next day. The night manager was great and brought water and towels for us as we couldn't sleep. Would definitely stop again but would bring a fan with us.

we were allocated room on the first floor which overlooked the back 'tradesman's' entrance, the bottles were emptied below, the staff had their 'fag' breaks there, goods were delivered there early in the the morning, the doors directly opposite us the kitchen staff were in and out of the cold storage slamming the door every time they went in and out, the cooling fans for it were loud and were on 24 hrs.
