Just returned from a family weekend staying here which I can thoroughly recommend. Hotel is clean and rooms spacious. Check in was smooth and professional and I found the lady who we dealt with extremely helpful. The rooms were excellent as was the breakfast. Lovely staff throughout. Will definitely return

Stayed 3 nights for a family funeral. Hotel was very nice and cost £230 pounds per room including breakfast. Clientele seemed to be mostly middle aged and fairly subdued which suited us. Hotel has direct access to Pleasure beach, in fact the roller coaster the "Big One" went right past our window and surprisingly it caused little disturbance when it was running which was late morning to early evening. Now to the matter of the "ghost" lol The bedroom floors are clearly marked and Quiet Zones... Read more

We arrived on Friday afternoon for a two night stay in a Family Four Room for a long weekend. The Hotel is a fair walk from the centre but trams are handy and very regular and it is a pleasant walk to town weather permitting. The room was adequate and overall quiet despite there being a disturbance in the room next door at 1.30am but this was dealt with quickly by Reception. Breakfast is out of the world and a real highlight consisting of Full English, Continental, Pastries and Cereals all fresh... Read more

Great location, good value, right next to pleasure beach! Good rooms for children, a bunk bed with a tv at the end of the bed and a view over the rides. Good bar for evening drinks. We ate fish and chips on the sea front but the restaurant looked very pleasant. Breakfast was busy but very filling and tasty. Wouldn't stop anywhere else in Blackpool ???

Everything about this hotel is first class especially the friendly staff. Everywhere is spotless and the rooms are spacious and very well appointed. When they say tea and coffee in the room they also mean loads of other drinks and plenty of milk. Despite it's location, inside is very quiet and relaxed and the restaurant and room service are fantastic value.

Not our usual destination, however the kids wanted to go during half term. We stayed at the big blue and I must say it surpassed all our expectations, the family room was great for all of us, the bunk beds and TV's were a massive hit with the kids. the hotel staff couldn't do enough for us, so well done all round. We booked a deal for pleasure beach tickets for the Friday and again had a great day, weather was great and the pleasure beach a huge improvement from 10 years ago!

Me and my friend stayed at the Big Blue Hotel for a 2 night stay as we were seeing the Funny Girls show. We were lucky and got a parking space right outside the entrance and even though we were a little early our room was ready to check in. The room was clean and had vey thing we needed although there was only one spare plug which was a pain when we needed to charge 2 phones. There were spare pillows and... Read more

Booked into a Deluxe room for one night . First impressions were good , staff friendly and helpful at check in . Room looked very nice as did the resteraunt . We had a lovely day out and enjoyed an excellent meal later in the evening . All good so far . We went to bed and My wife ( a bit tipsy ) went straight to sleep . I however endured a terrible night on what I would describe as a springy worn out bed . In the morning we swapped sides and it became obvious that one side was very different . I... Read more

We arrived at the hotel at about 11pm after a 5 hour drive, and were happy to find the staff friendly and helpful. We went up to our rooms and found they were spacious, clean and perfect for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and huge!! Ok.... Most hotels in Blackpool are pretty grim to say the least, so finding a decent in one with space is probably going to cost you a fair bit. We paid £260 ish for a 2 night stay, we had a ground floor family deluxe room which could interlink with another. Although this interlink was locked. Check in was quick easy and the girl was very polite. Over the 2 nights we had a few interactions with the staff and all were fairly decent. We bought pleasure beach tickets with ease. We stayed here for one night with our two grandsons enroute to the lakes. The hotel had bee recommended by my cousin. It was super. Perfectly positioned by the south pier on the edge of the pleasure beach. Totally child friendly with super friendly staff. Our room was spacious and the boys had their own section. Highly recommend it. Would have liked to have stayed longer

We booked a deluxe room. After arrival we figured out that delux rooms are not larger or more luxurious than any others. The fireplace didn't work. The room was not very well cleaned but the linens looked clean. Our room was quite dark and the carpet had stains as well as toilet doors etc. Children and families are everywhere. It might not be everybodies preference to have the rollercoasters so close to some of the rooms. Some of the rooms looked quite dark and lacked of daylight. It's not luxur... Read more

Spent 5 days based here on a family break. What a great hotel. Every staff member was polite, happy and helpful! The room was great, fab air con when needed. The kids loved their sleeping area and the roller coaster view! The food was amazing and you would be hard pushed not to like something from the 3 menus. The kids enjoyed making pizza and wraps. The pate was probably the best i have ever eaten. We ate their 3 nights out of 5, plus a lunch. Breakfast was busy, waited 10 mins at most. Nice,... Read more

absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. I feet that the room and restaurant were excellent quality and good value all at the same time. Hotel is based on the south beach so within a quiet and family friendly location, with your own access into the pleasure (which is also a must)

Lovely hotel. Reception staff could not have been more helpful. Rooms lovely, great bathroom and everything super clean. Housekeeping exceptional and breakfast was great. Having not been to Blackpool for a few years we were disappointed with the standard of hotels when we decided to visit for a few days. I must say Blackpool council have went to the trouble of doing up the beachfront and yet all the tacky shops and hotels that look as though they have not been touched since 70's early 80's... We have stayed in this hotel eight times in the last twelve years. The standards which it keeps are exceptional high. From the staff who are always smiling and very helpful to the cleanliness of the hotel. The only hotel I would every stay at in Blackpool. Keep up the good work.

Stopped here for one night in a family room the room was clean and spacious. The food menu for children is very good has there is plenty for children to choose from. I had in room breakfast which was a good portion however it was only warm when it came it would of been nice if it was hotter. I also had food off the room service menu which I thought was poor value for money. £6 for a cheese sandwich then I have to pay a extra £5 for room service charge so costs me £11 for a cheese sandwi... Stayed here 5 days in the superior family room and have got to say once again Big Blue have impressed us . Beautiful hotel so clean and rooms so comfortable. Food was amazing by the way . Will be returning for the third time again next year and can't wait. Sometimes you only get what you pay for and I feel what I paid was well worth the money.

Been here before and would not stay anywhere else when visiting Blackpool . Lovely staff , very clean and great breakfast . Nice touch getting a room at the back of the hotel as it faces the pleasure beach theme park . Kids loved watching the roller coasters and the train going past the room .

Great stay at the Big Blue. Very helpful and friendly staff, spotless accommodation and modern rooms with a decent specification. The breakfast had a super choice of cooked or continental and the restaurant had a good menu and wine list. Very quiet at night as set away from main nightlife, so a good sleep had by all.

We have just returned from a night away at the big blue- we were a family of 2 adults, 1 toddler and a baby. We booked a family room thinking we would have a separate room for our children, in reality the children's area is no bigger than a luggage storage area and has no door. This would be fine for older children but our toddler would not sleep as she could see and hear us at all times until fairly late when we went to bed, then she would wake straight away whenever we used the bathroom ect.. ... Ok, so Blackpool was on our itinerary as we traveled around the UK and I really was not sure what the accommodation would bring us. In fact, I was quite nervous...So upon our trip in and around Blackpool, I was relieved when we pulled into the Big Blue and I think it is fair to say, this is probably one of the best hotels in Blackpool. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and incredibly helpful. We booked the Deluxe Family room as we were travelling with a 12 & 15 year old (who is 6 ft 3")... Read more

we stayed at the Big Blue Hotel for a night whilst visiting Blackpool for the Pleasure Beach Park. Check-In was all right, even if it was not really friendly, we got all the information we needed. Arrived by 10 a.m. and could take the opportunity to get to Pleasure Beach immediately, cause we got the wrist bands directly at the front desk. As that door is only open for an hour in the morning, you need to take the exit at the other end of the park. (No clue, why they don't have a one-way door li... Read more

Great hotel. Had fantastic time. Staff excellent, very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was lovely. Bit chaotic at breakfast but to be expected in school holidays. Very well organised, plates taken quickly and not too crowded at the buffet as they stagger the tables. If you get to breakfast before 9am, we never waited more than a couple of minutes for a table. After that time I think there may have been a longer wait. Hotel very clean, lovely shower and big bed! Tram stop across the... Read more

Loved this hotel. Can't imagine another hotel so near the pleasure beach as this one. Comfortable family rooms although it's expensive it is worth it. Breakfast is superb, buffet style it is equal in standard to Crown Plaza or Holiday inn. Entrance to pleasure beach makes the morning easier and not queuing for tickets, wish the entrance was open at the end of the day too or even at the middle when we needed a rest. It's quite a long way round. Restaurant for evening meals wasn't versatile enoug... Read more

This hotel is a diamond in Blackpool and an amazing place to stay, the room are immaculately clean and modern, the beds are very comfy and extra large and the kids area is a fantastic extra they have bunk beds with 2 separate TVs for the kids and a PS3 to keep them occupied (take games for them tho), the bathrooms are great and the showers are Devine and very clean. We had a room overlooking the rides onto the pleasure beach which kids loved seeing rides go by our room. The hotel itself is beaut... Read more

Second visit to the big blue hotel, yes it is expensive, but the rooms are big and clean, the family room is set out with a large bed and an area for children with bunks, games console and a bit of privacy for them. The restaurant has a great balance for adults and children, good menu choices, and a good junior 3 course meal for the children, adults menu had some great choices, and we were not disappointed with the food we ordered, the wine is reasonably priced. As far as hotels go in Blackpool, I would stay that The Big Blue Hotel is among the best. I visited on Saturday 13th August and had an enjoyable visit. I booked a twin room and the room was reasonably clean except I found a gold acrylic nail in the middle of the floor (not sure if this was from the cleaner or last guest!). If you are visiting the Pleasure Beach, this hotel is ideal because you can get your wristbands from the hotel reception (so no queueing for them at the Pleasure Beach) and th... Read more
