This hotel feels like it not been updated since the 1960s, the bedrooms are small and cramped with no lifts to the rooms on the lower level. They are fitting new carpets, but the overall decor is tired. The staff were friendly enough but not particularly visible. For the money, Premier Inn and their ilk represent better value for money. The menu available was unimaginative, and looking at the food some people were eating not well presented A note of caution, make sure that you purchase... Read more

A great location if you need a stop-over on the M6. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is clean and well presented. The hotel is set out over three floors in a linear fashion. This means that some rooms are over 200 yards from Reception. Standard rooms include free wifi, tea / coffee, television and a small bathroom with shower only. To my wife's pleasure a gluten free roll was available for breakfast - well done. Unfortunately I could not have a morning cup of tea in the room bec... Read more

I'd been annoyed by the new car parking regime at the Holiday Inn, but received an apology and a refund, so I thought it was time to try it out again. Signposting for car parking charges is now much clearer. This is a good, central place to arrange meetings. Nice coffee and enough space to be able to talk without over-hearing other conversations. All forgiven and I'll be coming back regularly again!

Approaching from the M6 use right hand lane once coming off the roundabout or you will end up going past the hotel. Efficient check in given room in newly refurbished area, going by new carpet smell and bathroom door struggling to shut due to new paint. Comfortable room although to get hot water early morning required the hot water tap to run for 10 minutes. Good choice at buffet breakfast and room service was of good quality.

I booked this hotel directly via their website and saved money compared to hotel comparision sites. Was welcomed by friendly staff and check in was efficient. Room was to a nice standard and was clean and fresh. The heating though was too cold for me. I queried this at reception and was told that it heats or cools based on how most people have it set to. No good for me as I couldn't get warm enough to sleep. Also, although the bathroom was modern, a 2 cm lip on the shower tray and a small ... Read more

Recently, I stayed here so I could go to my friend's 60th birthday party. The room was okay apart from a wonky standard lamp fitting, and the towels were very nice. Pricing was an issue as one person paying for a double room must pay for two breakfasts. It was noisy for a Sunday morning as door closers were not properly adjusted and doors banged all along the corridor. There was noisy hoovering in the corridor from 8.15: rather early for Sunday. Too few staff in the restaurant at breakfast. T... Read more

Stayed here twice now, on consecutive weeks. Initially thought that the location close to the M6 and easy parking would be a good option. Little things let it down however......... Room safe locked rather than left open- should not be that difficult for staff to check these things as its just a pain to have to ask to have it unlocked. Air conditioning on 16 degrees did no more than blow air, not even cold air. When mentioned at reception I was told a lot of guests had commented. Breakfast ... Read more

The place NOT the staff We booked this place as a last resort as all other HOLIDAY Inns were fully booked for that Thursday. The room was small compared to other H.I in the area and the mattresses on the main bed and kids fold out bed was horrendous. Think of World War 1 and sleeping on the proverbial "bag of potatoes". How sad that Holiday Inn cannot afford to INVEST in better beds.

It is as the name suggests very close to J7 when you head north from the M6 remember to keep right and get the filter for chapel lane.

Our rooms were a long long way away from the reception, restaurant and bar but close to the spa but they were down stairs, no lift. Also, I'm hearing impaired and have always been given a portable fire alarm. When I asked for one I was told that they don't have them and that I should have booked an accessible room which does have visual fire alarms. I was told that all the ... Read more

We booked this hotel as a stop over on a longer journey and were impressed by how nice it is. After a long journey we enjoyed a dip in the pool ( small but very nice) which was a perfect way to wind down. The facilities at the leisure club were of a high standard. The saunas and steam rooms were of a good size. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. We had a family room with the sofa bed down. The duvet for the sofa bed was a tad on the small side leading to whinging from My children as they... Read more

We have stayed in holiday inns all over and they are what they are, one in Plymouth is the same as the one in Edinburgh. But what makes a hotel stand out is the staff, here we found that the staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough. From checking in to the restaurant the staff are excellent, there are not enough words in the English language (that I know) to describe them. The rooms as expected are clean and tidy quite large considering we had a sofa bed in ours. The breakfast in the mor... Read more

IHG member. Stayed here for 1 night with young family. There was a wedding going on, all staffs attention was on this and no one available for regular customers to order food and drinks at the bar. Very slow for food to come out when we did finally get to order and it wasn't nice, cold! The wedding party were very loud, drunk and swearing (early afternoon). We had asked if we should move but told we were fine where we were. We left the lounge area pretty quickly. Had to walk through around 20 p... Read more

Booked a last minute break at the holiday inn- only because my last few visits to holiday inns across the country have been decent experiences plus across the road from this hotel is a premier Inn which is a so so, so i thought hey why not. Its got free parking which is a bonus. At check inn i was given a code to use for visitors internet ( which i thought was weird at the time since i was a guest). Trying to log in to the wifi network was nearly enough impossible but i didnt make a fuss as i h... Read more

Check in was very fast staff on front desk attentive and friendly even though the hotel had a private functions on. Booked a twin room was lovely and clean with plenty of room. Ate in the restaurant food was nice a and reasonable prices the bar was however quite expensive for drinks. Nothing much to do in the surrounding area although there is a shop petrol station and a harvester just a short walk down the road. Overall a nice clean comfortable hotel. Outside isn't so appealing bins were overfl... Read more

Standard holiday inn by a motorway junction. Good staff service, nice bar, tiny bathroom, room needs a complete deep clean. Swimming pool was very large and fun but not as good as other health clubs. Front of house staff were excellent.

Good hotel, lovely staff members and couldn't fault the food. I stayed here over night for the Community Radio Awards 2016, glad to say I won GOLD Young Person of the year 2016 UK! Really great stay and slept well, room was clean and I wish we had more time to explore the hotel, as I didn't even realise they had a pool! Car parking system works well and all the rooms we past looked good. Booked the breakfast for the morning, all you can eat and was all very nice! Would visit again, and I don't n... Read more

Fab warm, comfortable hotel just outside of Birmingham with good road access into the city and others parts of the area. The rooms were clean, warm, the staff friendly, helpful and informative. The leisure centre was great, but the pool may need some updating. They were great with my two jack russells who came with me. A great place to stay

I attended a 4 day training course which required a 3 night stay. I can't say this hotel is nice, because it isn't. The hotel is ugly and the room blocks remind me of a low level block of 1970's flats or something you would find at Butlins. The bedroom was small and needed a refurb. There were the normal facilities including kettle and hair dryer. The only positive point is that the bed was comfortable and there were a selection of pillows. The bathroom was tiny with grubby walls. The showe... Read more

This is simply a decent hotel which if honest is quite ugly to look at from outside. The rooms are decent and clean, reception staff, housekeeping and gym staff polite and affable, the same couldn't not be said for the lady serving me at the bar. i required somewhere outside of the city centre to sleep for the night and with this in mind the hotel pretty ,much served its purpose.
