We stayed one night on May 10 , 2016. And the room was clean , excellent shower, all the basics, free Wi Fi , car parking and friendly staff, tea making facilities, warm welcome at the reception. The location is convenient to most of important places like NCC, NEC A fridge would have made this hotel perfect The parking in the upper floor is restricted to cars,as , I could not park my Land Cruiser there , but ground floor was suitable

I don't expect much from budget hotels however I was very annoyed they charge 7 quid for parking ! That is mental . Especially considering its not in the centre and in fairness it's in a pretty average area so not sure why the premium price . I also didn't feel the room was that clean . The bed especially didn't impress as it just didn't smell clean and the mattress was soft as hell . That said the staff are nice and the bathroom is quite good and modern better than most budget hotels in fairn... Read more

A very clean hotel. We stayed there just for a Saturday night to avoid too much driving in a single day. The shower/toilet condition was particularly clean and worth mentioning. Otherwise, nothing fancy and we were not expecting it either. Better to have breakfast at off-peak time. We went at peak time and it was difficult even to get a table. The food spread is decent for a budget express hotel and they made no fuss refilling stuff. Parking was paid for and that was a bit unusual.

Not good Not bad It's exactly what you would expect for a hotel linked with airport parking Rooms are comfy Evening meals ok, just limited choices It was ok parking included and easy access and exit process This is an average hotel, it does what is needed, I would use again for pre flight stay, but not for a break Note: whilst breakfast was included we left before that. I have rated this as No free breakfast as its not free it's part of the package

I've got to admit, this was the most atypical stay I've ever had in an IHG property. As a member of IHG Rewards Club I used this as a Reward Night, Pointbreaks stay. I got up to my room on 6th floor and find that the latch is already on the door! Some guy comes out dressed for bed and is already in the room and was not happy. Back down to reception I go and explain to another gentleman who admits that someone had been moved rooms and it was not input on the system and gave me another room on t... Read more

I used this as an over nighter as I was passing through, I was not sure what to expect from an express, but this one really surprised me, friendly reception staff, good sized rooms, everything you would need. Went down for an evening meal, to the receptionist now been at the bar. Small selection on the meals but everything you would need, no fancy names just like it should be. Nice size portions and at a decent price. One to save in the sat nav to visit again.

My partner and I were visiting friends in the Stechford area and we needed a place to crash for the weekend, so we figured we would give this HI Express a try. We were TOTALLY surprised at the quality of the facility given the area it is located in! Great staff, super clean and modern facilities, yummy conti breakfast, and quiet! And for a great price as well. We totally weren't expecting something so enjoyable in that area, but we would totally stay there again, should our travels take us throu... Read more

My Company booked me into this hotel whilst working in Birmingham. It was my first stay in a holiday Inn, and as this is an express, I was not expecting much but I am pleased to say it is a lovely hotel, nice room, very clean, everything you need is there, and the bed was enormous and very comfy. The bathroom was nice, shower gel and hand wash in dispensers, but pleasant smell, and nice to use. Powerful shower. The best staff I have ever met, so helpful and kind. Can't recommend this hotel enough! Stayed for two nights in November 2015 with a large group and we were so well looked after. Hotel is reasonably price and in a good location, right between the airport and city centre. Couldn't have asked for more.

Room very nice, comfortable and clean, which makes it a real shame as the rest of my review does not reflect this. Charge of £7 for 24 hours parking which is unnecessary. Upon check in, the staff could not find my booking. I had arranged my stay via who I use frequently and have never had a problem with before. I had cancelled my original booking as the price came down by £20 for a double room with breakfast, so I rebooked at the lower cost. I showed proof of booking on my phone ... Read more

As an IHG member I decided to stay at this hotel as a rewards night. I used it as a base for a couple of days exploring National Trust properties. For this purpose the hotel was great. I will admit that the check in experience was not great and I was greeted by a less than happy member of staff. Once over this the rest was great. The room was clean and was actually quite spacious. As the football was on I headed to the bar to watch the football. Interestingly when ordering a lager and... Read more

Stayed here with 6 friends going to see Rainbow at the NEC. Great service and well looked after. Worth a return! Breakfast was as it is in an express hotel but it was hot and there was plenty of it. Just what you need after a big night out. Don't go to the pub next door as its not great. Welcoming but not great.

I've been staying at this HIEX for some time as I am working in the area for a while. Always made to feel very welcome, always a smile from the reception staff. Rooms are clean and airy. Air-con works a treat particularly as it currently very warm! Haven't eaten at the restaurant as there is an excellent Indian next door - Balti King - Breakfast is as you would expect for an Express but they do have nicely warmed small croissants. We booked the Holiday Inn for the weekend during a wedding in Birmingham. They had a unbeatable rate on that included breakfast. Room was nice enough. The hotel is situated on Coventry Road so was very Close to the wedding venue. Bed was comfortable and we had a very good nights sleep. It was always clean, the bathroom as well. Stayed here 3 nights week and had a most pleasant stay. Room was clean and modern. Breakfast was better than most holiday inns I've stayed in with the scrambled eggs tasting like they should. The only downside of my stay was I left my phone charger in my room. After two telephone calls I got a call back saying my charger had been located. When I returned a couple of days later I was offered just the power lead and no plug. I was then offered a non-original replacement which fortunately works but... Read more

I recently stayed at this hotel with my students. We arrived in the evening hoping to get dinner here, unfortunately it did not work out. The hotel ran out of food for our entire group. They had potatoes ready for it, that was it. A potato. The hotel itself was adequate if you are stopping through. You will have a restful nights sleep.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 1 night in July. The room was wonderful, very good size, wonderful bathroom and TV. We couldn't believe how big the bed was! The location was good and bad. Good because it was only a ten minute drive from the bullring and town centre. Bad because it is on the side of a bypass so you have to go past it, up to a big roundabout and then back down which is slightly annoying. We really enjoyed our stay and I would definatly go back! The staff were friendly, the internet was superb, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast is fairly good with no much varieties. Location is very close to the center, very convenient. There are no safe boxes in the room, no slippers, and no closed wardrobe type. Also, the A/C in the room was not working properly, it was not cooling the room. We stayed in a family room for one night with our 13 year old. Very good experience - good welcome, car park very secure and room immaculately clean and high quality - not sure how long this hotel has been open, but it felt very new. Beautiful shower room, quiet at the back of the building (no view, but that didn't bother us). Breakfast was lovely, too, and included in the room rate. Free wifi was an added bonus.

As someone who stays in a lot of Premier Inn hotels on business, they need to get their act together on pricing if they're to compete with the quality and value offered by Holiday Inn Express now. I stayed in Solihull for one night last week and have no complaints at all. Secure parking (£5), a pleasant welcome and a good room with aircon that actually works (a bonus nowadays with centrally controlled aircon in many hotels). Lovely hotel, I assume its quite new (no more than a few years old or renovated). They seem to be repainting rooms which is also good. Anyway very cheap, Rates were £45 a night. Parking was £4 (discount if you are an IHG member). Only thing I didnt like was the room was quite dusty and needed a clean. Also the window was slighty broken. It is on the A45 but I didnt have a problem sleeping. I recommend this hotel compared to anything closer to the NEC or Airport.

The "Express" means no gym and the restaurant isn't open on the weekends (you're welcome to order or grab take out and eat downstairs; they'll give you cutlery), but other than that it's very comfortable and had exactly what we needed. Nice comfortable rooms as usual from IHG, bar food menu was very limited and was poorly rated by friends but there is plenty of takeaways nearby and a good Indian restaurant next door. My room had a poor view of a dirty flat roof and the doors were not very noise deadening so you can hear people talking in the corridor, very helpful staff throughout the stayjust beware if you have a van or high vehicle as there is only space for 2 or 3 vans outside.

Modern hotel and rooms. Staff not very friendly upon arrival with one receptionist openly complaining about another guest phoning down to reception which seemed very unprofessional, especially in front of guests.
