Good service and friendly, attentive staff. Great food and decor is lovely too. Overall, a good experience. However, it is challenging to park and building works are taking place which might impact on your stay. Good conference facilities and excellent catering services.

The hotel is nice and modern. Spacious rooms, working and functional facilities. Not too expensive. Downside: Do not have food in the hotel! Breakfast is dire and the coffee tastes like muddy water. Menu is very limited, in addition staff have clearly no experience in waitering/waitressing.

This hotel has no car park. Even with a half price reduction, using the NCP car park next door is pricey and I found bringing luggage in from the car park difficult. The room is nice, but my key hs not woked several times. There are no biscuits with coffee and somehow one misses little bottles of toiletries and biscuits, but this is not the end of the world. The bed is comfortable and it is suprprisingly quiet. I ordered tacos from the lunch menu and they were fine. Staff seemed to be doing... Read more

We booked this last minute as we flying back from our holiday and arrived early hours so needed somewhere cheap to stay. Because of the price we really didn't expect much, however we were pleasantly surprised, the receptionist when we arrived was lovely and helpful, as were all of them that we came into contact with. This HIExpress is perfectly located close to the city centre but also not too far from the M6. High quality spacious rooms with a large bathroom. Public parking is a tad expensive so make sure you get the reception to validate your ticket to get the 50% discount. All in all this is a budget hotel but much nicer than many I've stayed in. Well done !

Hotel in tower block in central Birmingham. Clean and quiet. Surprisingly quiet bearing in mind close proximity to roads and Snow Hill station. Air cooling worked well in the room. Breakfast is a very simple menu with cereal, bread, scrabbled eggs, baked beans, coffee etc. It's minimal and enough to get you started; nothing fancy. If you can book the hotel for £70 or less than it's good value for money, anything more you may be disappointed.

I stayed here for one night. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The air-con was handy as it was uncomfortably humid on the night I stayed. The dinner was OK but nothing special but I wasn't in the mood to go and find somewhere more interesting to eat so it was convenient. My biggest gripe is with the breakfast. I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel that offered a cooked breakfast that didn't involve bacon. When I asked one of the staff if there was any bacon you would have t... Read more

Arrived around midday on Friday 12/08/16 for a 5 day visit in Central Birmingham, I was able to check-in slightly earlier than the normal time, asked the female reception staff for a high level room & offered room 1609 on level 16. the room was big enough just for me, modern compact bathroom with tea & coffee facilities, small mounted wall TV, Comfy double bed, surprisingly no security safe in the room for personal valuables etc. Breakfast was ok provided you arrived early avoiding the crowds, b... We stayed for one night recently to help our son move his gear back to uni. We checked in around 2 and were allocated a room on the 7th floor. Everything was clean and tidy apart from a few little scuffs on the wall. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel as had a reservation elsewhere but the location of the hotel is really good. We parked in the ncp car park next to the hotel and if you get your ticket franked at the hotel you get the parking for half price (think it was £13 this time ). After a... Read more

The rooms were of good standard with recent decorations and bathroom hygeine to a good standard. Upon my arrival staff were rude and ignored me whilst i waited at the desk quite frankly too busy with their own conversations. Found the supervisor wearing the blazer to come across quite aggressive and not appealing towards customers. Although a nice venue was not impressed with the reception desk staff i think her name was Sheniece and her supervisor shelly

Located in a part of Birmingham undergoing significant regeneration so surrounded by building sites. That said it is only a short walk into the centre of Birmingham so handy for shopping, food and bars. Booking was efficient and staff helpful. The room (5th floor) had a huge number of scuff marks on the wall which looked pretty poor although it was clean. The walk in shower was good and helpful to have an iron in the room. Air con was decent enough. Bar is fairly limited in choice but pleasant a... Read more

A good hotel where you get value for money. It has a good location, approximately 10 minute walk from the center and it's in good and fair condition. Nice, clean and large rooms with ample space. Fine breakfast with everything you need. And it's pretty cheap compared to other hotels in the city center. Highly recommended.

A great centrally located hotel, five minutes walk to Snow Hill Station One of two hotels we use in Birmingham when in the city for a night out Rooms are large and clean and there is a free breakfast in the morning to set you up for the day. Car parking is not cheap but that is to be expected in location. If you can get a room for less than£60 then you will not be disappointed

We had a 2-night stay here with 6 other friends as we were going to the NEC. Not the closest hotel for the NEC but better serves the city centre. There is discounted car parking at the NCP Royal Angus - drive towards the hotel and the entrance is in between the Royal Angus Hotel/Pure Gym and the Holiday Inn (we turned off at the road before initially so missed it!). We gave our parking ticket to the hotel receptionist who validated it straight away. Checking in was quick and efficient with 2 c... Read more

Up on the 18th floor I have been allocated a room with green emergency celling lights that stay on and are bright enough so that you can read a book without turning the bed side light on. Every hour a weird noise comes from the bathroom I think its a boiler and it sounds like diesel generator but the size a borrower would use? this lasts for around 20 mins every hour. Best one so far was when I ordered a beer and was given a plastic Stella chalice? I am here for 1 more night and I cant wait!

It was a return stay and I really enjoyed it. The location is a little far from the city centre but manageable on foot. The room was modern and comfortable and while the bathroom featured no power shower, it did the job and the shower cubicle was spacious - overall the room and bathroom were spotless and the bed comfortable. The bar is rather functional and there seems there is only a reduced menu on offer these days, although the menu was reasonably priced and you can certainly have someth... Read more

Stayed at this hotel last Friday night. The reception staff were friendly at check in & check out. The rooms were clean & comfortable for a short stay & as we were on a high floor it was very peaceful. There are 3 lists servicing the building, but as the hotel is so busy you need to wait a while when using them. The breakfast was a let down, the breakfast area is not big enough for the amount of guests so getting a table was a nightmare. The food was cold, there was no cutlery or cups for a... Read more

I stayed for one night for work. It's a fairly central location in what I think is a newish building. Basically, it was good and I have no complaints. I really appreciated the friendly welcome at reception, including being given the choice of floors - I chose the 19th, right at the top. It was quiet, clean and comfy. The shower was good and the heater was efficient. The breakfast was fine. Not much else to say really!

This is a city centre hotel which well located and is clean but a little scruffy. The downside is that they do not offer any decent food and the bar and eating area is adjacent to the reception area and is one of the most unfriendly and impersonal that I've been in. The room was clean but showed signs of wear, particularly the furniture which was quite badly stained in places. Of the 3 lifts only 2 were working and as I was on the 11th floor there were some delays. Breakfast was 'free' (include... Read more

Good hotel with reasonable sized room, clean and all you need. 15 min walk from Birmingham new street station and 3 minutes from Colmore square. Get an upper floor to avoid road noise. Got a bar for evening drink but don't eat there unless you just want something to fill your stomach. A few places either way within about 10 mins to get a much better meal. The breakfast was god enough, hot and plenty of it. All in all a decent enough hotel for business visit.
