My husband and I stayed here while seeing a show at the NEC, this hotel was in an excellent location for travelling to both the NEC and the airport. The rooms were not that big but very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy out weekend stay. Ironing boards & irons were provided in the rooms which was very handy. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again if I was attending another show at the NEC

This budget hotel is well placed for the NEC or Airport, but the walk to NEC is along a main road with no footpath, only grass verges and takes about 20-25 minutes. We stayed when seeing Bryan Adams and the hotel appeared to be fully booked. The overnight stay was fine, room and bed comfortable, but when we went for breakfast, it all descended into chaos. We knew from previous reports that the hotel didn't have bacon on the menu(??!) but the eggs and beans were also in short supply. Only ha... Read more

Firstly, check in was great! Staff on reception were very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Rooms were also clean and comfortable. Me and my partner both had a drink in the bar area, however the only downfall were the prices of the food. So we asked the barmaid Olivia, who was most helpful, where else we could eat which was nearby. Breakfast was okay, however there was not much to choose from. Although we had a lovely conversation with Sarah. All in all, lovely staff and a lovely... Read more

I stayed for 2 nights on business, working at the NEC. Perfectly located, the NEC is only a short taxi away, or approx. 20 minute walk. Comfortable room and bed. Good breakfast, however, evening meal not so good. I had the risotto and garlic bread, which was nice, however, my colleague opted for the fish and chips which she did not enjoy. Soggy chips and 2 pieces of battered fish, which looked like the frozen ones you get from the supermarket. At a cost of £12,95, we expected better. The ... Read more

Stayed at this hotel with my fiancé as we were attending Slam Dunk festival (a music festival) at the NEC arena. Arrived at the hotel around midday on 29th May, staff were very friendly and check in was quick and hassle free. Got to the room, which was very clean and tidy - couldn't fault! My fiancé and I weren't sure in how to get to the NEC so the lady at reception (I believe her name was Naz?) ordered us a taxi straightaway at a discounted rate! I really wanted to rate this higher but I couldn't because of the poor night sleep I had. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food at breakfast was delicious and warm. The selection was adequate especially for the price of the room. However what I felt really let this place down and I think this come down to personal preference is I found the bed very uncomfortable and when sleeping in a hotel that bit is kind of important. The firm pillows was too firm and big, the soft pillow was too so... Read more

I've stayed in many different hotels around the world and some have been Holiday Inns. I thought they were all just budget with limited space and services. This one stands out as a superb example of what they can be. The bedroom was fairly standard and clean, the public areas were, by express standards, very generous. The main feature though were the staff, outstanding and willing to go the extra mile with a smile on their faces. from check in to check out. One of our party is a gluten fre... Read more

I had a lovely room. Clean, comfortably and everything in working order. The staff were above helpful and really friendly. Cannot think of a negative. This is a great holiday Inn. The pub around the corner if you want to leave the inn was also worth a visit but you can eat at the hotel with its huge dining area. I was impressed

I stayed here on the 28/29th May this month. The hotel was fine, standard and clean. But the room at night was insanely hot. We tried to leave the air conditioning on overnight but the fan was right above one of the beds. So it was a difficult choice between sweating all night or having freezing cold air blowing all night long. :( On another note the staff were very friendly!

Pretty average hotel. In truth they don't have to try too hard. The majority of people will either be visiting the NEC and just in need of a bed for the night or like myself on business. Rooms look and feel ready for a refurb. Functional and just about acceptable for the one night. Food is pretty dire and over priced. £12.95 for fish and chips. Clearly heated up and not freshly cooked. I wouldn't have bothered based on previous experience of Holiday Inns had it not been for the fact that the... Read more

We were visiting the NEC so we wanted to stay in a nearby hotel. Unfortunately, due to an accident on the M6 and our car's sat nav not being able to find the hotel the estimated 1 hour 45 trip turned into an epic 3.5 hour journey. We arrived at 10.30 pm and although the restaurant had closed at 10, the reception staff said they could cook us a pizza or we could order a takeaway. This is a really pleasant hotel from the minute you step through the entrance doors. It is on the NEC complex and about a 5 minute taxi ride away from the main halls. The hotel rooms are well appointed and very clean and tidy. The staff are extremely helpful and the breakfasts are all you could wish for. There is an in-house restaurant and if the food served at breakfast is anything to go by this would be a good place to eat if you didn't want to go out again.

From the moment you walk to the moment you walk out it is a surreal experience. Extremely welcoming staff, willing to go the extra mile. The bed was really comfy that I slept for over five hours undisturbed until neighbours woke at 5.30am. Sadly management cannot stop people not being thoughtful of their neighbours. We had issues with a taxi firm, Chelsea helped us deal with it. Jordan helped with flat battery on an iPhone. Breakfast so much choice - had bacon and crumpets yummy. A good price.

Stayed on business recently, it was booked thinking it was a regular Holiday Inn, which it definitely isn't. Clean and friendly with good service, though. Breakfast included - which is good as I wouldn't have paid much for it. Thought that £7 per night to park the car when you are basically in the middle of nowhere a bit of a rip off. One of the team came a few days late and had to pay an extortionate room rate for 1 night just because of what was on the NEC. I am talking double what we paid.

Had such a lovely staff. The staff were so welcoming & upbeat! Made me feel happy from the minute I arrived. The only downside was paying for parking but I knew this when I booked the hotel.... Thank you for a lovely staff, spent the evening at resort world :)

We used this hotel as an overnight stop after landing at Birmingham airport quite late at night. Due to road works it was quite difficult to find but when we finally got there check-in was quick and efficient and the room was clean and just what you would expect from the holiday inn express chain. Breakfast is included in the very reasonable price and was more than adequate.

Well located for the M42. The prices move dramatically depending on market forces driven by events at the NEC but often has an attractive offer. A real friendly team with Chelsea and Olivia great ambassadors for the brand. A few extra choices compared to a normal HIE with bacon, crumpets etc. I appreciate the proximity to the NEC and airport for which there are park and fly options but I see no reason why residents should be charged for overnight parking. It feels too much of a surcharge and mar... Read more

Stopped here for two nights on a work trip. Had no choice of which hotel I stayed at on the NEC site as booked through corporate. Hotel is on par with a Premier Inn but beds not as good as a Premier Inn, Air conditioning in room is a bonus, shower not the most powerful and no bath but prefer a cubicle anyway. Reception staff pleasant. Breakfast ok. Overall a descent stay without the bells and whistles. Arrived by train expecting to walk to the hotel but it is about a 30 minute walk from station... This Hotel is exactly what you would expect of a modern chain, a purpose build building and grown-in-the-same-pot staff training. It's very sterile. The rooms are bland and business-like, the A/C works well, the breakfast is good but tedious, and the staff all have the same customer-service smile. It is exactly what you would expect. There are no surprises, no character, and everything is exactly where it should be. Perfect for a business traveller, or NEC visitor. Very boring indeed.

Got a really warm welcome from the desk staff who were helpful and informative. Room was comfortable and the free wifi worked well on both my laptop and phone from my room and the lobby. Dinner was over priced for what it was (essentially a weatherspoons menu but smaller). Not much choice and I waited over 40 minutes after I ordered. Kind of wish I walked the 2 mins to the pub next door. Shower was nice but kept getting a very quick blast of cold water throughout which was odd. Breakfast ... Read more

Arrived after midnight, and chap on reception was excellent reminded me to put car reg in for parking. Really efficient. Hotel is on large side for holiday inn express but gets busy for events at NEC. Room was warm, clean and well appointed. Wifi reception was fast in morning for checking emails. Breakfast cafeteria style, basic but good standard. Plenty of parking. Pub next door for lunch or dinner. Good value motel.

This was the first time I'd been away with my baby and the team at this hotel were fantastic (particularly Chelsea and Jamie who were on reception when we arrived). They helped us out with directions to supermarkets / petrol stations etc, were very accommodating with our car parking requirements, and the hotel had arranged breakfast times in order to fit around the weekend's activities at the NEC. Was here for 2 weeks on business and this is like any other Holiday Inn Express in the country with the addition of bacon on the breakfast menu. The rooms were clean, tidy and modern as were the facilities. The crowning glory of the hotel were the staff who were always too happy to help, especially accommodating my gluten free diet. Nothing special about this hotel everything was pretty basic. It was freezing when we got in our room tried to turn the heating on to find out it has been cut. Went up to the desk and he just laughed at us, told us to press loads of buttons and we will figure it out which eventually we did.

Visited this hotel again recently and it was a good budget hotel. On my last visit I was disappointed at the number of plug sockets in the room for a business traveller but they have rectified this now by offering an extension lead if needed via a quick call to the reception. My only let down on this visit was I was given a twin room with two single beds. Normally I stretch out in a double bed but struggled with the single bed. Just a minor moaning point to an otherwise good hotel.

The hotel is ideally placed to visit NEC. The room was comfortable with a bath which is unusual these days. Tea and coffee in rooms. I left before 5am but taxi had been ordered for me on time and nice touch were the croissants And orange juice at reception available if you weren't able to make breakfast. Receptionist on early morning shift v friendly and helpful. A standard hotel but the food at the dinner night before excellent.

I chose this hotel because of the closeness to the M6 as I need to break my journey to sleep. Very good customer service. Malai on front desk was very helpful and friendly during check in and and check out. I was recognised as an IHG Rewards Club member too. The breakfast here is better than in other Holiday Inn Expresses as they offer bacon, crumpets and a wider range of pastries. The room was very clean and the internet was good. Have stayed here many times, over 10 years, with family and as a couple, rooms are clean; even better now the refurbishment is complete. Breakfast is good. Service cant be faulted. Little owl next door does good food in the evenings, have to book early. Great local Indian takeaway that delivers for when you can't be bothered to go out after a long day. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful no better place to stay if you're visiting the nec.

The hotel is generally ok, clean and friendly staff but I was surprised to have to pay for parking at £7 for 24 hours and finding a spot to park on the tiny carpark wasn't easy. They do have a bigger car park around the back of the hotel but it was chained off. Stayed here for a night for a Christmas party at the NEC. Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful throughout and welcoming. Room was warm and comfy. Shower was powerful and the beds comfy. To say it was so close to the airport I never once heard a plane. Breakfast in the morning ( included in the price) consisted of a good continental breakfast and a simplistic 4 piece cooked breakfast but all was nice enough and the dining room kept nice and clean.
