Staff were all amazing! Particular credit to Alexandre, Jose and Mathew working the bar on 24/5/16. Fantastic and cheerful service! Rooms are lovely too, very clean and towels were a decent size too (huge irritation of mine of the towels are more like napkins!)

I work away from home between 20 and 30 nights a year, all over the country so I am quite used to an assortment of hotels. I requested a quiet room while booking as all I want is a good night sleep, not a lot to ask for. Warning 1) I had booked this hotel because of the pool facilities but there wasn't any correspondence about the pool in the room. The TV would not pick up any channel. Very strange. Went down to concierge to get the TV fixed and ask about the pool. The TV repair man turned up a... Read more

Excellent breakfast service and a good range of food to choose from. Ms Palak cooked me an excellent Omelette! Even though it was a buffet breakfast the waiters brought food to guests at their table - a nice touch! Room decor was a bit tired. Excellent leisure facilities with helpful staff. I like the fact that they opened from 6am!

After booking the hotel (then subsequently reading reviews!) I was unsure of what to expect! However, I can confirm that we were made very welcome from the point of check in until we left. Our rooms were very clean, bright and airy. We had a lovely member of bar staff look after us (ALEMA) who was very personable and nothing was too much trouble. She is a breath of fresh air! The breakfast was very good - with a very wide selection to choose from - and again, we found the staff to be very fr... Read more

The staff at this hotel are amazing - everyone I met was really helpful and cheerful. Had meals in the lounge. The waitress suggested the sharing platter to start with. When I said I was vegan. she said she'd go talk to the chef. We were served a big platter of vegan delights with courtesy and good humour. Great access to the NEC. One of the best hotel stays I've ever had.

Myself and my partner were booked in to the hotel for eight nights arriving on the Tuesday and leaving the following Wednesday, as we had arrived early to help prepare for the convention taking place that week. Starting off with the hotel staff and management‚?¶ fantastic and friendly! Some were more engaged with the event than others, but we were both always met with professionalism and a smile. We recently stayed here as we were flying from Birmingham Airport. We stayed whilst the Confuzzled convention was taking place. Whilst the hotel was very busy, there was an area set aside for non convention guests. This meant that the lounge was busy, but the convention was no problem to us, as the guests were very respectful. We ate in Millers, due to the small number of non convention guests the menu was the lounge menu, which whilst very nice, it would have been preferable to have the regu... Read more

Hotel tired. Room had bulbs not working, toilet not working. Check in staff rude and unfriendly. Overpriced for a hotel that needs work, and staff snooty when they have no cause to be. Plenty of better hotels around. Breakfast ok. They seem to care about the big groups and conferences at the expense of everybody else.

Apart from the initial mix-up with the shuttle bus not picking up from the airport and picking up from the train station, this was a very pleasant stay. I spent a weekend here with some friends and it was a very good experience. The room was rather pokey, but was clean and when I left housekeeping a written note with a number of minor issues, everything had been dealt with on my return to the room in the afternoon. We were at the NEC for Gardners World Live - a stay of 8 nights. This hotel is in a great location if you are attending an event at the NEC but when we got to our room the bathroom was for disabled visitors and as the shower has a seat we felt it was not suitable if you are lucky enough to be able to stand and shower - however the only other room they could offer had twin beds - we did ask if they could put them together at some point during our stay, but this never happened. Stayed here with my brother as it was the nearest to the Genting Arena when we saw Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. Really typical Hilton, clean, tidy and comfortable with buffet breakfast included in our deal so okay. Neither of us could log in to the Wi-Fi and resorted to 4g which was fine but frustrating if you needed to use an ipad or device without the facility. Overall does exactly what it says on the tin!

A very dated facade gives way to a decent, refurbished interior. My Executive room was OK, a little dated, but spacious including a sofa. Wifi good. Service here was great - everyone lovely. Breakfast service especially good but Executive Lounge service was non-existent. A little poor given your best customers will be there. Overall though this is perfect for Genting arena & OK for city centre via the train. A solid choice where service makes up for the hard product.

We stayed here on the nights of 24th and 25th June, 2016. This is a sprawling, old, ugly and tired looking building that seems to be popular with business executives and those who have events to attend at the Genting Arena or the NEC, both just a few minutes walk away. The airport and Birmingham International Railway Station are also quite close by, 10-12 minutes away by road. Our room (2005, 2nd floor) was decent sized. That's where all the positives ended. Probably the most luxurious hotel on the NEC campus. The suites are very lavish although expensive, the food in the restaurants are very good, the roast dinner buffet is very good. Excellent facilities, however if I was paying with my own money as opposed to my companies, I would find something more reasonably priced. Location second to none for getting to the halls.

From the concierge supervisor, to breakfast room hostess, to bartender and wait staff to the housekeepers. Have stayed here before & always had a good time. But....met friends in the bar to eat & it was very disappointing. Overpriced. Slow & inattentive staff. An hour long wait for one course is not acceptable even on a busy evening. No apologies until we complained & even then it seemed reluctant. Food wasn't anything to write home about either. Had to return warm lager. Bill was wrong, lucky we checked it. All in all, nah, no thanks Hilton.

My husband and I had a lovely overnight stay at the Hilton. We initially booked a spa day but decided to treat ourselves to a night in the hotel. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool was set in a beautiful conservatory, over looking a lake. Very easy on the eye! We ate at Millers restaurant, the food was exquisite!! Our spa experience was very relaxing and good value for money. The hotel is also in walking distance of Resorts World. The walk to Resorts World is lovely, walki... Read more

Regularly stay at this hotel and find the staff always 100% proffessional and effective. Always accommodating. Rooms pleasant, well decorated and beds very comfortable. Extremely clean. Quality and presentation of food in the boulevard and Millers excellent. Fitness centre is good, although changing facilities small and not adequate for the size of the facilities on offer. Wedding venue here is also an excellent memorable experience. I am talking from experience. We had our wedding eve... Read more

Stayed here after attending a concert at the Genting arena. Lovely comfortable room and great facilities. Our TV was broken on arrival so we telephoned reception who promptly sent the maintenance man who was extremely friendly and resolved the issue in no time at all. A pleasant stay would stay here again, In fact tried to book a room here again for next year but ended up finding a room cheaper elsewhere.

I've stayed at this hotel many times for various reasons but though in theory the wifi is supposed to now be available in every room, in practice, it's dreadfully unreliable. I was in an exec room a quarter of the way down a corridor from the exec lounge but couldn't maintain a connection in my room for more than ten minutes. And once lost I never managed to regain it. In the end the only way I could get a signal was by sitting in the exec lounge all evening (and getting chucked out at 10pm). Se... Read more

This place is a vast hotel, whilst I've attended functions here in the past this was my first stay. I stay at hotels several times a month around the country and abroad. On my arrival at 8.30pm my room had an awaiting inspection sign on the door, although I had indicated a 6pm arrival on my online checkin. Although a double was requested this was not available, which was absolutely fine, however I discovered beds could be pushed together to fulfil the requirement, this was too much effort for th... I would say the main attraction of this hotel is its location for the NEC, 5 minute walk to the main halls. Hotel is massive and bar area can get quite busy. Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast is very good with a wide selection of cooked and continental. Access to swimming pool as a guest which was a nice bonus. Standard rooms are basic but ok for business purposes. Would only stay here for work reasons.

Have stayed in this hotel a few times, it is too expensive for what you get, a small room, no bottled water available not even a biscuit to have with your tea! Drinks at the Bar are vastly overpriced (£16 for a large Baileys!!). Booked 4 weeks previous for a meal in the Millers Restaurant on site, when we went it was closed, no notice, no warning despite them having my mobile and email details. Eventually relocated to another restaurant with no explanation offered. The next night we attended th... Read more

Smallest of single beds, though room was big enough to accommodate larger and the beds were on wheels and not secure so shifted every time you sat on them. Never have a problem with the staff at this Hotel, they are always very helpful and genuinely seem to enjoy their job. The parking can be problematic as it's a very popular venue especially during the seminar season. Expensive parking, poor food, TV not working and slow bar service - sum up my stay at this hotel. My room was specially adapted for disabled guests so I am not sure why I was allocated this room, having no disability. Also, the room had an adjoining door to another room. The hotel is easy to find from all routes but can be busy to get into being part of the main Birmingham NEC complex. Be prepared for some queues at busy times. Car parking was straight forward but wasn't too keen on the £12 per day charge but it's a captured market as there's nowhere else to park! The Hilton Metropole boasts class, and oozes quality at every turn, but there are a few issues with how this is delivered. Located a 10-15 minute walk from Birmingham International railway station, the hotel entrance (directed from the NEC) is a little tucked away from view, and the path is dimly lit with wet leaves to slip on. Finally you're met with a fountain and a somewhat disappointing entrance - perhaps you read the directions incorrectly? Once you get to the impressive reception which of... Read more
