We visited the Hampton by Hilton on 21/05/16 in Birmingham. Came down for a Daughtry concert at the O2 Academy. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Online check in was pointless as we still had some paper work to process, but didn't take too long. The room was comfortable and clean, as was the nicely appointed bathroom. Overall a very good standard. We had food from the snack menu and ordered the Pizza, it was very nice. Only minor complaint would be an awful smell of rotten food on ... Read more

the location is good amongst the bars and restaurants and about a 10 minute walk from the station - and it's surprisingly quiet inside. However, the bed needed replacing - remember the old spring beds that creaked as you turned? That was the problem and in the middle of the night the pipes started screaming. Breakfast is basic.

the room was nice and clean and well presented and we was put in a good location high up away from the busy street below. The main bad point was that breakfast was very busy cramped no where to sit and very hot in the small enclosed space and not worth having if you have the option the choice are very basic at beast. the staff seemed decent and help where they could. Overall OK for the price paid.

Central location, with multi-story carpark attached (£10 for overnight). Room and hotel was modern. However, breakfast was disorganised and overcrowded, little space to sit. The toasters weren't working properly and smoked a good few times. We stayed on a friday night.

I would definitely stay again if you want somewhere cheap and central. Hopefully you will be very friendly with whoever you share with as the bathroom door (which doubles as the wardrobe door when not in use) does not close/lock. When I went into other rooms in our party they all had the same problem. Air conditioning didn't work despite me asking four times. When I mentioned it on check out I was offered a bottle of water!!

Booked this hotel to see Seal live in concert, and the location was perfect. A 10 minute walk to the venue at the Symphony Hall. Only a slight problem when we returned to the hotel after the concert, and it was the fact that the TV decided to only work on one channel. We didn't fancy watching question time after Seal (he was amazing btw). Breakfast is a treat with everything from cereals up to cooked breakfast and another bonus is they have there own car park

A very busy hotel surrounded by pubs and places to eat, the rooms are big and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is ok but not a lot of choice on lagers and its a bit pricey, the only meal I ate here was breakfast and I have no complaints about it, their was plenty of food out and you can have as much as you like. All in all a nice stay, for a bit of a reunion with some old friends I would recommend this hotel.

First impressions were not good. Took ages to get checked in, car parking looks to be included but oh no it's not so beware it will cost you £10 per night. Room was small boxy and gloomy but once we got the blinds opened, lights on etc. not too bad. Room was clean enough with the exception of a line of black mould in the shower. Breakfast was included in the price and was just about OK. Buffet style and you sit in the bar area so not ideal. All in all about what you would expect for £60 OK fo... Read more

Carlos at the front desk was very helpful and polite and allowed us to leave our luggage before and after check-in. Try the nachos if you have to wait - freshly made and reasonably priced. The twin room was not overly spacious but adequate. Only real issue was the glass bathroom door. Hard to slide over and certainly not able to provide true privacy. The hotel has parking which is a plus considering it is on Broad Street specially if you are like me and hate the NCP car parks which most of the other hotels use. Having stayed at a few properties in Birmingham, I believe this is a mid range hotel and if I were to compare, I believe this is much better than Jurys Inn having stayed there as well. Claims of 5 minutes from New Street is more like 15/20 minute walk! Mattresses are awful. If you are using the sofa bed as an additional bed; don't! You can feel the springs through the mattress. Main bed really hard. When paying £124 a night; you do not expect such awful bedding.

I arrived tonight only to be told that I have no room due to a huge mess on this hotels part. I was NOT contacted by ANYONE from the hotel about this and only told upon arrival after 19:30. I then get sent to a hotel far out of the city centre in an area called Walsall. I was given no other option by your reception and they were unwilling to find me a closer option. For a hotel that that is supposed to be part of the well known Hilton group, this is pathetic and unacceptable. I was told that the... Read more

The room was clean and the decor lovely. Bed is really comfy and there is also a pull out sofa bed that turns into another double bed. Our room had a walk in shower. You need a pass for the lift to go to the floors with rooms so that's piece of mind with security. There's also 2 security men on the door of a night

Would have selected 0 however there is no option to select none. I have never been so insulted in my life being served the most disgraceful most appalling food in my life. Is there even a chef in this place or a broken microwave. It either comes out frozen cold or something missing or the wrong order. The chips are frozen, the vegetables are frozen and no seasoning, I didn't even get my baked beans on a kids meal ordered. I had the burger and the bacon was not edible and was basically a live pig... Read more

stayed one night whilst visiting Birmingham to see a concert at the barclaycard arena, great location if you're visiting the arena. close to food outlets such as five guys and nandos, and plenty of takeaways around. we queued to check in and the lobby is quite small so we were all huddled just in front of the lifts, but queue went down quickly. we were on the 16th floor but that didn't bother us, however our room was right next to the lift so we were woken up several times during the night and e... Stayed at this hotel many times always had great service, the last being 23 October 2016. As usual good staff, decent food and very convenient for the venues we visited, the rooms are clean. Just what you want. Booked the car into the car park on arrival, sensed there was something wrong with this process but receptionist confirmed that all was OK, Paid for the car park on departure. Stayed in this hotel for one night as I had a work conference to attend the next day. I found it to be very nice and clean. The bedroom was adequate, the bed was very comfortable which resulted in a good night's sleep. The shower was wonderful, easy to operate. I was on the 15th floor and had an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious and they had a variety of stuff to choose from. Great hotel to stay in if you are in Birmingham.

Hotel is located on a busy street,in the centre of Birmingham. Has all the usual conveniences, good wifi, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. The food available in the evening is a bit hit and miss to be honest, so if you can would recommend dining elsewhere. The breakfast buffet in the morning is more than adequate with a good selection of items to choose from. The layout of the building can be a little off-putting, as I arrived there were a number of people smoking outside on the steps,... Read more

Stayed for 1 night to attend an exhibition at the NEC. Loved the fact that staying here meant I had a pick of restaurants and a cinema next door! The room was very impressive and spacious. The views from my 16th floor room ensured I was thoroughly entertained by lots of firework displays! The beddings were particularly comfy and helped me have a much needed rest. Breakfast was a decent spread.

Parking was easy and priced right at £10 for the area . Great breakfast included in the price and decent coffee. Good security and most other guests we noticed were over thirty would recommend and we would stay again.

Stayed here for one night following a concert at the nearby Symphony Hall. It??s well worth researching how to get to the rear car park before you travel, as the street lay out is somewhat confusing, especially if you??re travelling during the rush hour and surrounded by other traffic. Once you??ve parked though, the lift will take you directly to Reception. Parking is a very reasonable £10 a night. Check in was a bit slow, but this seemed to be mainly due to other guests not having a clue... Read more

Excellent hotel, all staff very friendly and efficient. Very clean and modern, nice breakfast It is excellent value for money. Be aware that there is a daily car park charge of £10 that we were not aware of at time of booking because we didn,t book with the hotel direct. It is obvious on the hotel website however. Will definitely return.

Huge queue to check in and very slow. Rooms were clean but dated. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was terrible poor quality and a free for all bit like a small riot with people barging everywhere. Too conclude if you like terrible food and a scrum for breakfast book it otherwise get a far better one somewhere else. Check out a repeat of check in slow slow slow.

The hotel is in a good location for nightlife on Broad Street, making it a 10-15 minute walk from New Street station. Reception is on the third floor, which is also the location of the bar and the breakfast room. There are four main lifts, but it looks like there were originally only two and two more were added later, since not all lifts go to all floors. It is also sometimes difficult to see which lift is the one which 'dinged' and has opened its doors. Check-in was swift and efficient. I ... Read more

Good central location and it has parking, which is an advantage. Disabled rooms are very nice and spacious, but entry into the hotel is poor. There is a disabled lift, but very slow to react. Lifts are erratic and key card needed for your floor. Breakfast was ok, but more premier or travel lodge. No daily papers. No true restaurant. Food available 24 hours but did not use. We stayed at the Hampton because we needed to go to a concert at the O2 Academy and this one was not too far, available at an affordable price and breakfast was included. It took us a while to understand how to use the lift (especially when you're at the very top floor and you are not in the mood of using the stairs for 16 floors). We have just returned from a two day midweek break. We only decided to go about a week before because my wife wanted to visit the Xmas market. This is a comfortable hotel and our room was very nice. We had a comfortable bed and a nice pleasant bathroom, with shower (although it could have done with having a better water pressure). The staff were very welcoming and, whilst we didn't use it, the restaurant area (for breakfast) seemed nice. However, the reason that I can only rate a 3 is that we stayed on a Saturday night and the noise from the local club or pub was significant. Great hotel in the heart of Broad Street. Walked up from new street station enjoying the Christmas market on the way. The location was great for going out in the evening too! Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. The only reason that the hotel didn't get 5 stars is that the breakfast was shambolic. Make sure you book a room as high up in hotel as possible as the noise from Broad St is terrible until 4 - 5am. Breakfast was awful with no seating available, food not replenished fast enough with very low grade ingredients. Sausages and scrambled eggs are the worst I've ever had. Better off not booking for breakfast and going to Wetherspoons down the road. Such a shame because the rooms are very nice.
