The room was large but very basic. Breakfast not included in stay- an extra £11.95 per person.. Paying just under £100 for a night in a bed. Water in room at £3.95 per bottle .. Large bathroom. Alarm cords everywhere which I got tangled in in my sleep and myself and fiancé were woken at 630am when I turned in my sleep and my head was tangled and had pulled the alarm cord (which resulted in a worried phone call from reception) Staff were unorganised on our arrival and we had booked and pa... We decided to make the Hilton Strathclyde our "base camp" for our visit in the Glasgow / Edinburgh area. Having driven from Colchester England, the location was easy to find. It is also very close to the Bellshill train station where you can catch a Scot-Rail train into Edinburgh or Glasgow. Staff is friendly, helpful. Check in was smooth. We have stayed at this hotel many times over more years than I care to remember. Stayed DBB this time on a Prosecco package even though we don't drink it. It still gave great value for the best room rate of all! Only stay here if you have a car as it isn't near any public transport. The hotel is surrounded by business parks but that being said it is a good place for a base and breakfast is pretty good too.

Clean, up to date hotel, bad points: 1. Rip off price for Internet 2. Room service menu changed since my last visit and has gone downhill badly. 3. Limited to channels, so one is forced to watch a pay movie if nothing is on. Apart from that it's not a bad hotel, definitely stayed in worse. 7 out of 10 ???

Out from the Airport we took a rent a Car from Hertz and started driving to the Hotel and realized it to be a good long drive. The Hotel is away from the city but the good rate attracted us. After a 45mins drive on traffic we reached the hotel. The place was good and spacious and staff were very good. At the reception we were greeted and a

Check in was pleasant, quick and efficient. All information passed over that I needed. Stayed in junior suite. Suite was a little basic and lacking the usual Hilton standards. Big enough room, was just a big empty space. Had tea & coffee facilities but no fridge or anything. Something that I would have expected as standard from Hilton. With checking in late - I was hungry and needed to eat and was advised room service was available. Once I got to my room, I tried to call room service however th... Read more

From booking to checking in was simple with the mobile app allowing us to choose a room prior to our stay. Our room was clean and a good size for our family. The staff were friendly (great with children) and helpful. We used the poo, which was great good size and most importantly temperature.

Poor service offer, the restaurant closes at 10:00 pm, limited offer for dinner menu, some of the things at 7:30 pm already didn't exist anymore, at arrival no cookie, when we arrived from airport at 9:30 pm already told us that closed the cuisine which should have been closed at 10:00 pm, no minibar in room, if you need water during the night go at the reception or tap bar ...

After attending a wedding at the hotel we decided to stay the night there too. The staff although extremely friendly and polite are clearly overworked. Having had to wait 10mins to check in the solitary member of staff finally got around to attending to me. I felt sorry for her and she easy extremely apologetic. The room itself (Queen Deluxe) is of a good size and comfortable. Everything you expect to find (iron, board, hairdryer) are all present. Free WiFi and a decent size bathroom is also a... Read more

Check in took more than 30 minutes. The room was ok so I mistakenly believed all would be well. We were attending an event that included a meal And entertainment. The meal took 2 hours to arrive. The starters were ok but an hours wait for a main course that was stone cold and had to be sent away is rediculous. This impacted upon the function. Terrible

Enjoyed our stay at the Strathclyde Doubletree Hilton. The staff were extremely friendly and very professional, nothing was too much bother. Would go back and stay here again. The bedrooms were a good size and the big was very comfortable, that included pillows which were nice and soft to sleep on.

Lovely hotel that has just changed to a Double Tree.Service level is still great and staff are very friendly. Breakfast choice is great especially when they serve square sausage. I love the fact that the staff remember that I like a pint of water with my breakfast which shows attention to detail.

There are many things that means you should consider this hotel and some that says that you may wish to consider elsewhere. GOOD THINGS: 1. CONVENIENT LOCATION - Just off the dual carriageway and offers access to the motorway network. 2. FRIENDLY RECEPTION STAFF - I found all of the reception staff very friendly and helpful. 3. ACCOMMODATION - The bedrooms are large, there is a good sized bed, lashings of hot water, the shower curtain is bowed out to give you extra room and they provide real ha... Read more

The food and beverage service is absolutely terrible. The staff are all over the place and have no stations, so there is no control on service to their customers. The dinner menu is too highly priced. The hotel also has an identify crisis in the restaurant and bar,, is this a Hilton or an Ibis ? Formica top tables and odd chairs, not very comfortable either

Very disappointed, service at reception was not at all what I expected from the Hilton! I and 5 friends were there for an overnight spa/girls night in break to kick of celebrations for my 50th birthday. We registered at the front desk at 10:30am and after having a coffee and chat we headed for the Spa where the service there was first class for all our treatments and we then went back through to the hotel to get our lite lunch which took more than 40 mins to be served and part of the order was w... We arrived and were welcomed by two lovely, friendly receptionists. They sorted out our rooms so we could stay in the same suite for both night as we had booked the two nights seperately. Firstly I would like to mention that I have never felt the need to complain in any restaurant...but this was something else! Our restaurant experience on the first evening was fine but we got the impression that the a lot of the staff were either new or undertrained as small errors such drinks and dessert o... Read more

I booked an exception value DBB rate and had cause to contact the hotel directly with a small problem. Their customer service was second to none. Received emails prior to our arrival warning about impending roadworks in the area. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and all the staff during our stay were so friendly and welcoming. I got the impression nothing was too much trouble. It's been many years since I stayed at this particular hotel but hopefully not too many more before we are back.

Stayed here for one night whilst going to a theatre gig in nearby Coatbridge. This hotel is in a rather strange location compared to your normal Hilton hotels, as it is located in an industrial estate just off the A725. I guess it caters mainly for the Eurocentral business market. Forget any meaningful public transport accessibility from either Glasgow or Edinburgh, this is strictly a car-only hotel. Which isn't too much of a handicap normally, except with the motorway upgrades going on to t... Read more

Been before when it was hilton minus doubletree, restaurant service was unprofessional then and seems to have continued. Staff and hotel brilliant, but unfortunately menu & food in restaurant was very disappointing! Although I had stayed here before change of brand, I was surprised by the very specialised menu for evening meal, and at breakfast other guests along with myself had to request items which had been allowed to run out. Would always use this hotel when visiting Glasgow as the location is good, but will reconsider this after this last visit. Also although visiting in November - no air conditioning made b... Read more

I'd like to firstly highlight that this was one of the most pleasant short stay I've experienced in a good while. From the minute you arrive the exterior of the hotel hits you with a wow thanks to the water features near the entrance. The reception area is although very tidy and very well decorated. Reception who checked me into room 318 was very pleasant and offered us warm cookies and water during our arrival.
