the location of this guesthouse is wonderful -- just a 5 - 10 minute walk to the heart of bath but far enough off the beaten path to offer peace and quiet. the staff was wonderful; we dealt mainly with amie and she is a gem. breakfast was wonderful; i just wish they could replenish the excellent breakfast pastries but i understand that they're limited by their oven capacity. we stayed on the first floor in the beaufort room. lovely room; comfortable bed, great shower pressure and a beautiful sit... We stayed here for 1 night for our wedding anniversary. The staff were so friendly and really helpful with local sights and places to eat. The room was beautiful we stayed in the Beaufort suite and loved the high ceilings and living room. It was very clean and felt very grand, we even got a complimentary bottle of champagne as we told them it was our anniversary. The staff really couldn't have done more for us and the breakfast was amazing! Would definitely come back

The staff is very friendly and willing to make your stay better. They are also very helpful in answering questions about Bath and making recommendations for dinner. The location is perfect for getting into Bath city center - a 5 minute walk. The rooms are in excellent shape for a 200 year old building. Breakfast is very good. I recommend eating a large breakfast, then you can have a light lunch.

I've just got back from a two night stay at Dukes Hotel and I actually can't find a single negative thing to tell you! I'm always a bit suspicious of reviews that simply sing the praises of hotels, but actually, as much as I'd like to list lots of disappointing aspects of my stay, I just can't! I visited as a solo guest and spent a couple of days relaxing and taking some spa time in Bath away from my busy life running a business in London. Hopefully you'll find this info helpful: 1. My wife and I wanted to spend a happy weekend in Bath. Once we crossed the threshold at Dukes I knew it was going to be a good one. Location of the hotel and room (Beaufort) were superb but the welcome and approach of all of the staff was fabulous. If you get the chance choose a "superior" room and enjoy the space and comfort. Looking forward to going back.

Perfect location, far enough from the busy centre but just a few mins walk away from everything such as the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, restaurants galore! The circus and Royal Crescent were within walking distance as well. Staff were a delight, the customer service is every bit as wonderful as all the guests rave about. Wish we could recall the name of the lovely petite brunette who checked us in & was so helpful with all our inquiries. Especially grateful she arranged for us to have full English ... Read more

If you are a visitor to Britain and you are looking for a taste of Regency England, then this is the one. We stayed on 5th June in the Athol suite which is the largest room with a four poster bed and it was fabulous. The building is Grade 1 listed as a Georgian residence and wraps you in an old world charm. The address is quiet at night for a good night's sleep in an opulent bed but it is only a 5 minute stroll into the town centre. The bells were ringing from the cathedral and a wedding party w... this is a lovely hotel with great service and a delicious breakfast. the front of house staff are excellent and the location is ideal if you want to see Bath. Rooms are well fitted out, modern but stylish. However choose rooms carefully. the 'Snug' rooms are really snug and on the top floor. As it looks a 3 story building you can be deceived. 'Snug' rooms are in the loft with no view and its 88 stairs to Breakfast (and another 88 back to the room) Rooms have very high ceilings. so to walk t... Read more

Everything about this hotel is perfect - close enough to the centre to pop back to drop off your shopping, far enough from the centre for a quiet night's sleep. Very warm welcome on arrival, parking permit ready. The rooms were very gracious and immaculate. All the staff we met could not have been friendlier. We were given some good advice on things to do.

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are lovely and efficient. The breakfasts are very good with a wide choice . (I recommend the smoked haddock and poached eggs) . This time we stayed in a four poster room - Lovely bedroom huge bed with Hypnos Mattress -sitting room and bathroom. Its a quirky old place and the stairs are challenging if you have a higher room but its historic interior forbids a lift. The car parking passes are a godsend in Bath. We love this place and will return.

Second time we have stayed here: comfortable and well appointed, and very close to the centre of Bath, on the elegant Great Pulteney Street. Helpful and accommodating staff, freshly cooked breakfast, on street parking - if you can find any. Nothing to fault, and I am sure we will be back.

We have just spent 3 glorious days celebrating the 5th annual reunion with our old school friends from Hong Kong and have been utterly spoilt by all the charming, friendly and dedicated staff at Dukes, who put themselves out to make us feel welcome and cared for; . They provide an on street parking permit and we found a space just a few yards from the entrance (n.b. we arrived on a Thursday at approximately 2.30). First of all, I visited a few years back but didn‚??t file a report for some reason. This year I was supposed to visit in March but I was ill at very short notice beforehand The hotel was kind enough to an alternative date rather than just billing my credit-card for a ‚??no show‚??. Dukes is probably more of a very top end B&B than a hotel (e.g. no open bar/cafe) but it is very good and I‚??d strongly recommend on following points: Great location only a few minute walk from centre of Bath but... My friend and I stayed at a Dukes for two nights. We had a room on the very top floor - we had been warned! It was indeed a long climb up, and perhaps if I'd truly appreciated steep nature of the six flights, I would have booked a different place to stay. That said, the room was pleasant and the view over the rooftops rather good. It's not a hotel, it's an upmarket b&b, and it's well placed for walking into Bath city centre. The breakfast was just lovely, and the staff all truly pleasant and he... Read more

There is not much to say that has not been covered already, but this is a very pleasant hotel, in striking distance of all the main sights of Bath.
