My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Dukes from 13th-15th January. We arrived at about 2.30pm and were able to check in - welcomed to reception and given our keys. Suggestions given for things to do in Bath, and offers of help to book restaurants etc, all gratefully received. We were staying in the Norfolk Suite which is on the ground floor. Beautifully and stylishy decorated and a wonderfully comfortable large bed. Views out on to Great Pulteney Street. Lots of electric sockets(!... Read more

I cannot fault our stay at Dukes Hotel last week. From the moment we arrived til when we picked up our cases on departure the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly and helpful, there are only stairs (no lift) so our cases were carried to our room for us. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated with a wonderful selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. The breakfast was fabulous so much choice from cooked to continental and the almond biscuits and Madeleines were wonderful! The h... Read more

We have been staying in hotels in Bath for nearly 30 years for both work and leisure, and we have now found the best there is. We cannot speak highly enough about our stay. Everything is excellent from the initial telephone call to book, to the check-out and all aspects between. We received the utmost courtesy, customer care, considerations and service throughout our stay, from all the staff. Décor, room amenities, cleanliness and general wellbeing can be found throughout. You will not fin... Read more

Stayed at Dukes Hotel with my wife over the Valentine's weekend. As soon as we arrived outside the beautiful Georgian hotel, we were given parking passes to park out the front. There wasn't too many spaces but we quickly nipped in one, parked up and waved the car goodbye for a few days. Where we were staying we weren't going to need it. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Despite being an old Georgian building, with typical high ceilings, carpeted floors and sash windows, the overall feel was o... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over new year. We received a warm and almost effusive welcome. We had requested the Wellington room but were offered the Norfolk on the ground floor as an alternative. I was a little concerned whether the proximity to reception and outside noise might be intrusive but we decided that ground floor trumped 2nd floor and we were not disappointed. The room was initially quite cold and we were provided with an additional electric heater. Apparently the hotel h... Read more

We have stayed a number of times and it is consistently good here . The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are lovely. It's a very gentle stroll to The town centre but quiet at night . Staff unfailing my helpful as ever .

Top floor room was quiet and exactly what we needed for our 'sisters' weekend. Bathroom could do with a bit of updating though.....odd coloured tiles hark back to the 80's and shower screen sealant needs a jolly good clean. Fab view from the lounge of our suite of the Bath chimney pots. Cookies in reception and fresh Madeleine's lovely but the cooked breakfast was stone cold and incomplete.....couldn't face sending it back as breakfast room heaving and one waitress on duty doing her best. Stayed at Dukes for two nights whilst visiting this fantastic city. After a long day of sightseeing and chilly weather it was great to come back to this delightful Georgian hotel. Our large room (Wellington) was lavishly decorated, very warm and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, so much choice and cooked to perfection. Hotel run by a small team of happy dedicated staff who All went that extra mile to make our trip unforgettable, including Carole the owner. Will be coming ... Read more

Stayed here a couple of years ago and just been back - think it is even better now. Would highly recommend - lovely owners, extremely helpful staff, amazing location and very comfortable, teeming with character in a beautiful georgian building. Fantastic breakfasts and gorgeous rooms. Love the concept of as they describe themselves a Boutique Guest House - so not quite an hotel ie no night porter or full time bar etc but otherwise a very good place to stay and very good value for money. Our first stay at this hotel and, bot, were we pleased! The staff were, without exception, 1st class, from check-in to check-out. Spacious room with it's own hallway. Large and comfortable bed in a lovely room with a shower-over-bath en-suite. Breakfast was classy with top quality ingredients. A 3 minute level walk to Pulteney Bridge puts Dukes in the perfect location, too. Not the cheapest, but certainly the cleanest!
