After a full day out and about, we visited the Woodshed last night (Saturday) at around 6:30pm, hoping for some bar food. We were told that the only food available after 5pm was paninis, nachos or pizza......Pretty disappointing. Not overly disheartened, we had a few drinks and then wandered over to the Hilton bar instead. We arrived and immediately noticed the bar area was relatively quiet with only a couple of tables eating, although there were five members of bar staff behind the bar at one... Read more

Hilton Coylumbridge is unfortunately lacking Hilton Standard. The rooms are badly in need of upgrading. We had booked an accessible room because my husband is in a wheelchair ,on arrival we were told we had been upgraded,I explained that we couldn't accept an upgrade because we needed an accessible room this resulted in total confusion with staff as they had allocated our room to someone else,we finally got it sorted out, seemingly you need to tell them when you book not to upgrade you ? The rooms, facilities, dinner and breakfast were excellent. It is a good venue in a good location. £88 per room with dinner and breakfast included is good value. The only negative comment concerns the booking in arrangements, where the business is put before the customer. Telephone reservation was tedious difficult to follow because of language problems and inappropriate. All that should be needed is name and perhaps a credit card number. The booking in arrangements were long winded too. To bo... Read more

We stayed here for 4 nights, booked 2 rooms interconnecting, we arrived at 3pm and were checked in swiftly by a lovely lady who was very informative and engaged with the children which was lovely, despite there being a queue she spent time with us telling us of all the facilities that were on offer which I thought was nice instead of being rushed. The rooms were a bit out dated and could do with a refurb but were clean and comfortable. We dined in the bistro on the first night, the food was ok a... Read more

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night break at this hotel! Our room was lovely, decor nice (looked like it had not long been decorated)! Hotel has lots of facilities for both couples and families, it has a fun house, couple of different bars, pool, seating areas! Food at the hotel is excellent! The only downsides to this hotel is - it has no lift, being 7 months pregnant and on the 2nd floor and the last room was tiring! - the service in the Inverdruie isn't great, first night we... The hotel is in Coylumbridge which is within 5minutes drive to Aviemore and there are lots of activities in the area within walking distance. The room is good size but no lifts to the first floor. The swimming pool is OK I think the changing rooms will need s bit of updating. The restaurant is really good we had s three course dinner though it was very busy the food was good and the breakfast is excellent. If we go back to the area definitely will be our first choice again.

Was here with family end of May and was very disappointed with this place. Waiting staff were as fast as tortoises with broken legs was very frustrating watching them stand around whilst we waited for ages being served. Wifi a rip off why not offer free same as other hotels instead of stealth charge of 14.99 for using it in your room? No family entertainment on the nights we attended it was cancelled it said on the board. The pool was overcrowded. Was shocked at the prices at the bar too. F... Read more

This hotel is great for families, but we went as a couple and were hugely impressed in particular by the service of all the staff. Our bedroom was comfortable and well equipped. This hotel is fantastic for families. The rooms may not be as high a standard as other Hilton Hotels but you come here for the excellent children facilities rather than 5 star luxury. The soft play and outdoor playground areas are great for children but the most amazing thing is the free kids club 7-9pm which gives parents some time to themselves. So this hotel is fantastic if you are a family with lots of kids but if you are a couple , not so much. Nicely placed in Cairngorms and would be great for the hill walkers or skiing in winter but as a couple in June , not lots to do. There is a pool and we were luck enough to be able to use it during the adults only session (5-6.30 pm). This was probably a nice hotel back in the day but large parts haven't been touched since then. The rooms are pretty old fashioned and the pool and changing area is horrendous - would be nicer at the local council pool. This was the first time (and last) for me to stay in this hotel. It is without doubt the most disappointing Hilton I have ever seen. The standard of the maintenance in the hotel is very poor, the shower curtain was torn, the shower head had nodes missing, the carpet worn, the smell in the corridor very musty. A hotel can look a little tired but this hotel has been totally let go, not at all what I would expect from a hotel with a Hilton sign outside.

My family of 5 stayed in this hotel for two nights. We ate at one of the restaurants and the food was delicious although the service was extremely disjointed and slow. The hotel rooms were adequate. We had a lovely family trip here and stayed in a lodge. Couldn't fault that. The Woodshed bar was just brilliant! Best nachos & pizza and wines great. Only downside was main restaurant, was a bit shambolic when busy. Their PG was unpalatable ??

We stayed at the Hilton Coylumbridge in August 2016. Our party consisted of my husband, 8 year old son, mother and father in law and myself. I really cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. We had 2 family rooms on the ground floor. Both rooms were nice and clean. They were cleaned each day during our stay. The girls doing the cleaning were extremely polite and always said hello. We stayed as dinner, bed and breakfast. On the first night we had the family buffet which was excellent and ther... Read more

Had an absolute blast with my best friend for a few days here. Food was great, better in the bistro than the restaurant as the main restaurant is always packed with families and little children. Bistro was the ideal setting for steak & wine- beautiful! Room comfortable, we had a room with two double beds and they were very comfortable. Really enjoyed the woodshed bar, great to have areas for adults only to enjoy. Incredible scenery. Think we were two of very few there to relax instead of enjoy o... Read more

Went with my best friend as a girls weekend treat. Bistro much nicer than main restaurant. Very much a family hotel. We had a lovely time away but would not recommend for future adult breaks - very focused on families with young children. There is an hour & a half a day where the swimming pool is adults only and there is a bar a couple of minutes away from the main hotel building which is adults only but the hotel would not be suitable for a hen or stag party etc. Main restaurant is a buffet whi... Recently stayed here as a family holiday. We were slightly disappointed in the rooms as we had a family room (room 48. Ground gloor) the bathroom was very old and dated, cleanliness was not great. The room had dog/pet hair which had not been cleaned and this caused allergies for us. Room was very small to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. As the hotel was busy there was a lot of queues for breakfast and dinner which is to be expected but this is never easy when you have children with you.

Very old fashioned (there is a picture of 1965 in the reception and the only thing that has changed its the name of the hotel). It has no lifts, so if you are carrying some luggage, better ask for a ground floor room. The rooms are small (we had to open our suitcase on the bed, since there was no space) and the beds have saggy mattresses. The staff is very attentive and willing to make your stay the better. The restaurant is good, but the menu is the same all days (at least the two nights we had... Read more

Hotel is well placed for access to activities on the Rothiemurchus estate, Cairngorm railway, Loch an Eileen and Aviemore itself. Very much a family oriented hotel and it must be great for families to have lots of activities to choose from. Efficient check in. Bedroom had two comfortable double beds, and all basics covered. Would the rooms benefit from refurbishment? For me, I would have to say yes, but as a parent I can see that you could be relaxed about the furnishings and facilities. Ma... Read more

I have been going to this hotel for many years usually in Feb. It has a great buffet breakfast and lovely dinners in the main restaurant. The pool is lovely and the recent addition of the massage centre is a great addition to the site that is extending its facilities every year. The rooms are a good size and fairly decent decoration with all the mod-cons you'd expect. One complaint I'd say is that the bar area can be quite noisy with children if you plan for a quiet drink before bed.

Hotel has a perfect location, but is let down by a few basics. Rooms are dated, which would be fine if a bit cleaner. Cleanliness in general is a point which management could do with do using on. The restaurant package is great value for multiple families, but there isn't any excuse for serving cold food which happened numerous times (especially kids meals). Breakfast was better. May be worth trying the MacDonald hotels which have been renovated.

Coylumbridge has held a little special place in my life as its where I spend my honeymoon some 31 years ago when it was owned by the Scottish Hotel chain Stakis, whom my wife worked for at the time. This hotel has not changed too much over the years and we still return from time to time as we know what to expect. It has always been popular with families and this last visit was no exception - if you want a quiet hotel this is not for you. As we had opted for half board rate this included dinner - one of the choices offered was Italian inspired dishes which were disappointing . Breakfast was as usual buffet style and lots to choose from.

The hotel is well presented but getting tired. Food and drink expensive. £27 for a low level wine. Steak supplement £10 for an over cocked dry steak. The chips! Sour tasting skins. Why not fresh crisp chips. The breakfast omelett took far to long and eggs were boiled in oil. Not a Scottish breakfast. Haggis was great. Helpful staff

Aviemore is absolutely great for a getaway from it all, we stay at the lodges at the Hilton which are great but tend to go out and about rather than eat at the Hotel or accompanying Woodshed Bar as although the hotel and lodges are dog friendly there is no bar area that is so you have to go elsewhere or sit outside :( It seems such a shame as there is a Hotel Bar and Restaurant in the main hotel which would cater for people who don't like dogs!

Where to start. Firstly, I didn't read any reviews for this hotel before I booked. Big mistake. I reserved a suite wrongly believing it might be an improvement on the standard room. What I got was an acceptable bedroom and bathroom with the darkest, drabbest and most depressing sitting room I have ever had the misfortune of sitting in (which I didn't).
