Just returned from a weekend meeting up with friends at this hotel. We were on the all inclusive package which was great value. Dave and all of the staff couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome. We were celebrating a birthday whilst we were there and staff brought the cake out on several occasions as it was so big we were eating it over several days!! The rooms were lovely and clean and we used all of the facilities. Would definitely recommend it. Thank you

This was not as convenient located for the airport as I had wished I would not stay again. The room was very very tired with a noisy heating system. On arrival we decided to eat in rather than search for a local restaurant. That was a mistake. You live and learn.

We stopped here 2 years ago had a room on front which was excellent. Booked to come back due to flying from Manchester and very disappointed. Room at the back of hotel bin men arrived at 3.45am! TV in room didn't work, bed was completely knackered,Expensive drinks and food wouldn't opt again to stay here

Stayed here 13th--15th May on a golfing weekend with friends. Clean hotel, though the twin room booked for two of our group was not available as booked. Hotel clean, staff pleasant and helpful. Bedrooms good size, though beds were two singles pushed together, do less comfortable to use than look at. No lifts either, so frustrating to carry luggage up and down several flights of stairs. Restaurant, bar, pool all very good. Well worth a stay.

We arrived well past midnight, frazzled and exhausted after an M6 nightmare and the night porter couldn't have been more welcoming. Rooms were clean and comfy, breakfast next morning (at an easy 10.30) was fresh and delicious. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, making us glad we'd booked in here.

I booked this hotel for one night as me and my family had an early morning flight out of Manchester Airport. It was conveniently located close to the airport which meant that getting there was not a problem. We stayed in a simple family room consisting of a double bed and a double sofa bed which was really comfortable along with a hefty sized bathroom. The hotel also provided transfers to and from the airport in with the price of the hotel and secure car parking for 2 weeks in with the price. Th... Read more

Hotel is situated in a lovely location. Room clean and tidy with big bathroom and great shower. Only stayed one night B&B but lots of choices at breakfast. Car park was very busy and negotiating around it can be a bit tight but managed to get a spot. Would recommend if wanting to stay somewhere just outside Manchester that was a good price.

Stayed at several Mercure hotels and they do not disappoint....this one is an excellent example, clean spacious rooms and great health facilities. Very good rates for a nights stay prior to flying from Manchester.....

I booked a deal through Holiday Extras for airport parking and one nights stay on 10th June for me and my hubby. The room was at the back of the hotel, quite and compact but clean and comfortable & had everything in we needed, the bed was comfy too. We ate in the restaurant and took advantage of a deal they had, 3 courses and half bottle of wine each for £20. I am vegan and when I explained this to the waitress she went straight off to speak to the chef and came back with 3 options for main co... Read more

Arrived at hotel at 7pm for night stopover before flying from airport today and holiday extras had not confirmed our booking with the hotel. After 45 minutes of trying to sort it ou with holiday extras who were extremely unhelpful Laura on reception told us not to worry and she would sort everything out. Witbin 5 minutes we were booked in and our original booking price honoured.A taxi was booked for our journey to airport and we were given a superior room. We had a great bar meal which was well... Booked into this hotel for a surprise weekend with my partner, on arrival check - in was very quick and efficient (I hate it when they keep you waiting) the receptionist was very polite and chatty. The room was clean & tidy, provided everything that we needed. The bathroom was spotless. We both had a great nights sleep, the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast the next morning is just as you would expect...Good Service, Hot Tasty Food, Reasonable price.

I stayed here before my journey to Florida to cut down on travel time for our early flight with my 4 year old. We checked in and went to our room no lift in hotel with suitcases room was a good walk up lots of stairs. Room was boiling and no window would open requested a fan but all gone apparently. We are in the restaurant we were the only guests in there and I know why food was awful it was disgusting. We went to our room and bed around 9pm to get some sleep..... This hotel did not live up to my expectations. I had paid extra for an upgrade on the room and wished I hadn't. If this was a premier room I dread to think what the standard rooms are like. The room was boiling hot no air conditioning. It was a hot evening and the Windows although open had little effect except to allow the road noise. The shower worked off the bath taps and wasn't working so a very cold shower. The roof hatch in the room was half open I don't know why. The door in the corridor b... Read more

We turned up at the hotel at 6:30 on a Friday night after having left a nearby hotel because it was so bad. We didn't have reservations and were really in a bind, and the staff found us a room without notice. They tried to accommodate us in a quiet area as my partner suffers with anxiety triggered by noise. They couldn't do enough to help us. Our trip was nearly ruined because of the conditions in the original hotel, but the staff at the Mercure really turns that around for us, and we are so gra... Read more

This hotel was awful. We had two heavy suitcases. We had not been told there was no lift and on arrival were allocated a room on the 2nd floor. I refused this room and the receptionist found us a room on the first floor. The room was tired and depressing. I would not stay here again.

We stayed at the Bowdon for 3 days June 24-27, 2016. We were gone all day Sat. and did not return till the evening. My daughter had purchased a dress from Urban Outfitters and left the bag on the floor with the dress inside, still with the tags on, and with the receipt. When we returned, the bag was gone. Sun. morning I contacted the front desk manger. He was very helpful and courteous. He said he would contact housekeeping and was confident we would be able to retrieve the dress. We left for th... Stayed 1 night as we were attending an engagement party in Ashley & it was cheap & convenient. Tired room with bits of detritus from previous guests - discarded ear ring & bottle top. Ridiculously hot, no aircon & tiny window did little to help. Got less than 4 hours' sleep. Gave up at 6am & drove the 50 minutes back home to go to sleep! Tired public areas on landings - broken window covered with gaffer tape on one landing!

Booked for an overnight stay before travelling from Manchester early the next day. Nothing wrong with the room really, but the walls are thin so you hear all the people leaving at all times of the day. The bar is poor, but plenty of good resturants a 5 min walk down the road to Hale. Car parking large, although we did not leave the car there, and drove it to the Airport for parking, so cant comment further on that service. Its a good place for an airport visit, but take a coat and walk to the... Read more

It was my first visit to this hotel. I had organised a meeting and was greeted by the Manager who was very courteous and friendly. The room was excellent and laid out as requested. All the staff were polite and could not do more when required. Overall a very good experience and recommended for meetings.

If I had known this wasn't a proper Mercure, just a franchise I wouldn't have booked. Apart from Bharti that checked me in it went down hill pretty fast. From a young boy on the bar who couldn't be bothered serving you and made it pretty clear, to the girl serving room service who just hands you your tray at the door. Iv never experienced as poor service as I have here for an age. The room was ok but no air conditioning on the hottest day of the year.no iron in the room either. The food was ... Read more

The hotel is located just 10 minutes from Manchester Airport in a quiet area away from noise and traffic. The staff were very helpful throughout my stay. My room was fine for a one night stay only. For longer stays request a larger room if possible.
