Just returned from a weekend meeting up with friends at this hotel. We were on the all inclusive package which was great value. Dave and all of the staff couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome. We were celebrating a birthday whilst we were there and staff brought the cake out on several occasions as it was so big we were eating it over several days!! The rooms were lovely and clean and we used all of the facilities. Would definitely recommend it. Thank you

This was not as convenient located for the airport as I had wished I would not stay again. The room was very very tired with a noisy heating system. On arrival we decided to eat in rather than search for a local restaurant. That was a mistake. You live and learn.

Stayed here 13th--15th May on a golfing weekend with friends. Clean hotel, though the twin room booked for two of our group was not available as booked. Hotel clean, staff pleasant and helpful. Bedrooms good size, though beds were two singles pushed together, do less comfortable to use than look at. No lifts either, so frustrating to carry luggage up and down several flights of stairs. Restaurant, bar, pool all very good. Well worth a stay.

We arrived well past midnight, frazzled and exhausted after an M6 nightmare and the night porter couldn't have been more welcoming. Rooms were clean and comfy, breakfast next morning (at an easy 10.30) was fresh and delicious. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, making us glad we'd booked in here.

I booked this hotel for one night as me and my family had an early morning flight out of Manchester Airport. It was conveniently located close to the airport which meant that getting there was not a problem. We stayed in a simple family room consisting of a double bed and a double sofa bed which was really comfortable along with a hefty sized bathroom. The hotel also provided transfers to and from the airport in with the price of the hotel and secure car parking for 2 weeks in with the price. Th... Read more

Hotel is situated in a lovely location. Room clean and tidy with big bathroom and great shower. Only stayed one night B&B but lots of choices at breakfast. Car park was very busy and negotiating around it can be a bit tight but managed to get a spot. Would recommend if wanting to stay somewhere just outside Manchester that was a good price.

Rooms were of a good size, clean and with all the usual facilities. Only complaints were the wait for service at the bar and the car parking spaces being limited - guess a lot of guests park and fly off on holiday or Leisure Club external members because the numbers of cars parked did not match the hotels capacity.

I don't think this is a bad hotel, maybe we just had bad luck. On a plus note the hotel had ample parking and the furniture is modern. On a negative the paintwork could do with an update. We were also put in a room right next to the stairs so all we heard all night was what sounded like a rugby team running up and down the stairs with clogs on. The room above sounded like they were doing the river dance and there was a crying kid downstairs. Quieted down about 12am though. Don't stay here if you... Read more

Just back from a lovely two days at this hotel. Staff are friendly and chatty and can't do enough for you - David deserves a special mention. Food was great in the restaurant. Easy walk to the tram at Altrincham and then into Manchester before you know it. Hope to come back again before Christmas.

Stayed here for the night prior to flying out from Manchester airport. Very pleasant staff and comfortable accommodation. We didnt eat at the hotel,so ventured down into Hale for dinner, very recommended, lots going on with plenty of bars and restaurants. It was nice that we could leave the car at the hotel whilst we were away. We would return.

Stayed here early October the evening before a flight. Room wasn't ready on arrival and was told this was because a large group had decided to check out late. Half an hour later went to room, which was ok size, but slightly dated. Ate in the restaurant and food was ok, but experience was shambolic. Menu was very limited and no scope to amend an item as is a set menu. Restaurant seemed hugely understaffed and we were abruptly told to "get up" when the fire alarm sounded. It turned out to be f... We stayed at the hotel for one night and then we were going to Aruba for our gold-wedding anniversary. The young men at the reception was very kind to us and also congralulated us. I saw on the card that we had to fill in that our room was supposed to be on the first floor. But the young men gave us a room on the ground floor, it was a very nice and beautifull room. very great start te begin our holiday.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was lovely!!! I requested a twin room as my friend decided to join me after the reservation was made and they gave to us a family room, HUGE! Had a King Size Bed plus one Individual Bed. Majority of the hotels have a room equiped with a sofa bed for children in the family rooms, so we stayed quite impressed with this room. Receptionists they were really kind, both Barthie and Renato, thank you for your professionalism. Breakfast was the only weak point, needs m... Read more

I have stayed in many Mercure Hotels in the UK and Europe on Business. Had this been the first of the group I had stayed in I doubt I would have stayed in others. Shabby is the best description I can give and not in the Chic way. As an example. Bath room door did not open as hinges needed oiling. Hole in wall behind bath room door where door handle had hit it. All for a drop of oil. Unusually as well the staff did not seem as happy or motivated as in other hotels in the group. I have stayed in ... Read more

In a party with 2 teenagers, chose this hotel because it has a swimming pool. However, there is a minimum age limit of 16 so our two were not allowed in . The pool was completely empty. If this had been clear from the website we would have gone somewhere else. Hotel itself was ok, a bit tired and tatty but good staff and reasonable value. Good location for the airport.

We booked to stay here the night before a flight and also on the night we returned due to it being in the middle of the night. First impressions the hotel is run down, dirty and things are falling apart in the very basic and small rooms. The bathrooms were old and dated with disappointing showers. The food and drinks are overpriced and not great quality. The lack of lifts also should be made more apparent on the website - especially as this is a popular hotel for people to stay for airport runs ... Read more

Stayed here as a park and stay. No lifts!! Dirty, shabby, dated, pokey room. The worst bed I've ever slept in for comfort and really really tired! Each half of divan didn't fit together properly. Late landing in Manchester so stay over at end of holiday. Arrived at 12.45 Am. Had to carry cases up three flights of stairs. Dreadful night's sleep and husband didn't sleep at all. Left at 7 am - couldn't face breakfast there. Can't believe this is a Mecure. Standards have dropped!!

From the first experience through to departure this was an unremitting disaster. Basil (not his real name) the duty Manager was much more interested in gossiping with the other member of staff on duty than in checking guests in. The room felt like it was located in the cellars and smelled the same. Sound attenuation between rooms was minimal meaning you get to hear every aspect of your neighbour's' stay as well as your own. At dinner we struggled to get a drink in the bar as there was simply nob... Read more

We booked this with holiday extras with our airport parking as it was a good deal. We stayed the night before our flight and arrived early evening. It is not the easiest place to find! We ordered room service instead of eating in the restaurant as we were tired and had an early start! Food was very nice and quick to arrive!! The bed was comfy and the room had everything you needed but the decor let it down. The hotel seems quite run down and the corridors are dark dimly lit. Needs a good lick o... Read more

We stayed here as we were flying out to Florida early the next morning, overall first impressions of the place weren't too bad, in fact everything was pretty much okay until it came time to go to sleep. The noise was horrendous, the room we were in downstairs which I think was called the Langham or Langhan, the room next door must have had either some sort of generator or refrigeration unit, so we had a constant loud drone all night, we always travel with ear plugs, and it could still be heard ... Knowing the Mercure brand is part of the Accor group, which provides such consistent standards across other brads such as Novotel and Ibis, I booked this hotel confident that I was going to be staying in a good quality hotel. the reality was therefore somewhat disappointing. My room up on the second floor looked nothing like any of the ones featured in their photos for the hotel being built in the roof. It felt dark and cramped and it was quite noisy with old fashioned single glazed sash wind... Read more

Me and my husband stayed here for a night before going to Manchester airport. I was quite surprised at the distance from the hotel to the airport as it is advertised as an airport hotel but it's at least a 15 minute drive away. The staff did provide us with instructions to get to the airport through which was helpful. So, to summarise the good points and bad points; Good points: There was plenty of parking in the car park so we didn't have to walk a distance with our bags. The staff were ge... Read more

Situated only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Altrincham and a good 10 minute walk from the centre of Hale, this is a reasonable good hotel and sufficient for a one night stop over. The room is clean and warm and have all of the usual requirements of tea & coffee making facilities, the bathroom has a 2/3rds size bath with plenty of soap, shower gel and shampoo. Always important is a good nights sleep, which I have to say, I did sleep well. The bed was a double and quite comfortable. On t... Read more
