I popped in with my dad when staying with him in RAK in December. He lives about 1 km away from the Hilton so we decided to go for dinner (he goes here more often so recommended it). First impressions are good, the Hilton is modern and had incredibly friendly staff. We decided to enjoy the buffet dinner that has a wealth of selections to pander to anyone's tastes. The good news is that the service is good (though if ordering in English there can still be the odd language barrier but it really ... Read more

The down side to the hotel was the service. On check in the girl on the desk was not very friendly we waited 40 minutes to get a room, And it was not busy. I would recommend anyone thinking about staying here to take the all inclusive option to optimise your relaxation - no need to pay out any more unless you choose too. The service in all areas is excellent - probably the best is Nek who runs the outside bar by the adult only pool. He is always smiling and happy (even in the heat of summer) and willing to make sure that you get a nicely chilled drink anytime he's there. Hotel nice, great architecture and garden, some minor things for improvement - air condition cleaning is a must. Expensive food and drinks in hotel, no shopping possibilities in walking distance. Bus transport once a day provided by hotel for free, but quite full. Shopping malls 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Not much to do in RAK, I personally prefer Dubai due to many shopping/entertainment possibilities.

We stayed here about 6 times altogether as it was such an easy getaway from Dubai for a relaxing weekend. Easy drive and not bad driving time around an hour 40. It's not that the place blew us away, but it was pretty reasonable for a couple of days around the pool. We always asked for a room on ground level around the back near the beach. There are only about 6 rooms at ground level and it's so very private. Plus quick in the heat to walk around to the pool. When we stayed as family though we ... Read more

The Hilton RAK is a large, beautiful hotel. It is well designed with lots of leisure areas. Rooms are spacious with all facilities that can be required e.g. A fridge, tea-making facilities, iron, ironing board, room safe etc. Buffet meals are plentiful with a wide variety of food available. The biggest asset is the staff - they were, without exception, helpful, friendly, welcoming and all with a smile.

We visited 30th Aug-5th Sept 2016. My husband, four children (13,11,6&1) and my parents. The long drive is a bit much but worth it if you want to just stay at the hotel and laze around pool/beach. We would have liked to go to Dubai but was too much of a trek to Dubai with elderly parents and 4 kids. So decided to relax here instead. Also worked out very expensive on transport for us all! We had two pool front villas, next to each other around the children's covered pool. Plenty to do for the ... Read more

Really enjoyed the stay here, fantastic hotel and location, the staff went the extra mile to ensure the stay for us was the very best experience. Would definitely return. Even one day when I under the weather the house keeper kept coming by to check I was ok and bringing extra water etc.

Stayed at this resort for a week for business in the local area. This is primarily a family type resort with a clean and tidy beach with decent sand, a kids club and pools. The staff are very friendly and helpful as you would expect in the Emirates, with the rooms of a decent size as were the twin beds in the room I had which are pretty much a standard double size bed. The twin rooms also have a twin sink and very spacious shower enclosure with separate bath which is a nice touch. The only thin... Read more

Just spent there 12 days in a really great resort. The Hotel itself is well maintained and yes, some of the rooms would need a refresh but these are minor things. We stayed at a beach villa (upgraded from pool villa) and had a marvelous view across the hotel exclusive bay of the clean and sandy beach. Our kids (5 & 2) enjoyed they kids pools (4 for kids, 1 for adults only, 7 in total-I think), one with a slide and of course the beach and warm water of the Persian gulf! The Hotel staff is very f... Just come back from a fantastic week here celebrating a special birthday. The staff couldn't do enough for you & nothing was a chore for them. Rahmeez in the Maarid Restaurant was very friendly & always had a smile on his face when he served you. He made sure that 2 fussy children always had something to eat. Krishna in The Dome Bar was a ray of sunshine when you were having your after dinner drinks & he always made 2 tired kids laugh. Highly recommend the Pasage of Asia restaurant. The food w... Overall a pleasant stay. A few small niggles though. We requested a DVD player when we booked the room. This was not in the room when we arrived. Went to reception three times to request player with no luck but also no communication about getting a player Food is very expensive and the options on all inclusive is very limited. We bought my son the world's most expensive bucket to play in the sand. I still feel that things like this is a rip off and leaves a sour taste in the mouth The s... Read more

Was really impressed with room hubby and I occupied. Generous sized, very clean, beautiful balcony with great view. Hotel is a little dated but I think it just added to the charm if I'm honest. Ideal location for golf - golf club just next door....literally a two minute walk away. Although we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, several of our friends did and were pretty disappointed. Breakfast at Maison Mathis (located inside the golf club) was superb. Usual problem within UAE...lack of staff... Read more

Fantastic resort for a relaxing holiday. Hotel is beautiful. We had a delux king seaview room. Very comfy and everything you would expect from hotel of this rating. Several pools to choose from. Large beach with plenty of sun loungers. Staff very attentive and pleasant. We had all inclusive package which if you like a drink or two is worth doing as I believe it can get pretty expensive otherwise. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this resort. Its located at a stellar beach, about 100 km from DXB airport. A hotel transfer from the airport will set you back around 120 USD, so quite affordable considering the distance. However, once arrived, you will soon realize that the combination of a large Russian contingent and an "all exclusive" concept rarely works. This is no exception. If you are on all exclusive or half board, you will be making frequent visits to the buffet restaurant which... Read more

Another stay at the Doubletree. The service was great as always. Room selection "Upgrade," not so much. We requested an ocean view, but due to my late arrival, it wasn't available. We were told it was an upgrade, but besides the room size, it didn't seem to be. I truly enjoyed my previous visit and hoped this one would top the previous. We still enjoyed our stay and I will definitely return. Hopefully it will top the first two.

We've just returned from yet another fantastic holiday at the Hilton Rays Al Khaimah, this was our 4th Visit and the hotel just keeps getting better. The hotel room was immaculate and the housekeeping team are brilliant, taking an enormous and very obvious pride in the work they do. The food at the restaurants is excellent whether it's the buffet, the set menus or the ala carte menu, table service was very attentive without being intrusive. A special shout out to the passage to Asia restaurant... Read more

We are currently staying at the Hilton Resort and Spa for 9 nights. The hotel is nice, brilliant weather and caters for both families and couples. All hotel staff have been helpful when we have requested anything. The hotel is located over an hour away from Dubai. We decided to get a taxi from the airport which cost around 60GBP and was well worth it. Another traveller had told us that the Virgin Holidays coach had taken them 3 hours!! Buy your drinks from the local supermarket, it will cost you less to go to the supermarket and buy a case than you buying 1 can at the hotel. Also The hotel cans are smaller than the supermarket cans When you go to the beach, get a ice bucket from room service and put your drinks in it to keep them cool

Hit and miss hotel. Beach great. Swimming pools nice. Food good to very poor in the Italian a la Carte. Buffett food ok but like being in a rugby scrum but with ruder people. Serving staff hit and miss. The Rixos bar staff exceptionally rude. The dhow beach bar staff excellent. Lots of scandinavians and Russians. The villas no longer have exclusive use of their end of the hotel as they used to and becomes very crowded around the pool by the dhow bar. The food and beverage managers in the Buffet... Read more

Lovely beach, relaxed setting, staff and layout. We were initially B&B but as it was quite costly decided to upgrade to all inclusive with virgin. At the restaurants, we were provided a different far less attractive all inclusive menu. A real disappointed and the only let down, we felt a little conned. The hotel needs to sort this out.

Stayed at this lovely hotel again in October. Would recommend the all inclusive package as this allows you to eat in the restaurants in the resort. Have to say that we found the Buffet lacking in choice for the evening meal, but the excellent Al Bahar, Passage to Asia. and Italian Restaurant more than made up for it. You can eat in these restaurants as often as you like during your stay. All the staff are excellent and cannot do enough to make sure you have the best experience possible. I would... Read more

We have just returned from staying 12 nights at the hotel, our 3rd visit here. We stayed in one of the Villas away from the main hotel building which was lovely and quiet. UAE National weekend probably isn't the best time to stay here; it's more expensive and busy, and less attentive to overall customer satisfaction. We arrived at 3 (check-in time) only to be told we would have to wait until the extra bed was made up. Fine, we had a coffee in the somewhat tired lobby (although I noticed some measure-ups being made in the little cafe there) while we waited.
