We had booked twice, en route to New Zealand and return, and on both occasions the front desk made an issue about not having a reservation. Each check in was painfully slow and compares badly with any other hotel I have ever visited. The location is bling free and offers a chance to see Dubai before being spoiled. Deira Creek has markets on both sides and the opposite bank offers restaurants. Boat fare is 20p.

In the heart of the old town of Dubai, less than 5 minutes (walking) from a subway station, the hotel is great to discover the city. Service was great, Food (breakfast) was good, you can have a great view on the river. Cleanliness of the room is not a strength, and mostly the night club open daily from 10 pm to 3 am in the highest floors makes the whole building swing to the music even from a bed... Not always the best to get a good rest.

We chose the St George Hotel in Dubai for our 20 hour stopover on our way from Dublin, Ireland to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is so incredibly worth breaking up a long trip and this is a great spot to do it as you don't need to worry about taxis or metro for your stay. We arrived at about 1 am and were greeted by the charming gentleman Anwar who made sure we were seated and relaxing whilst he photocopied our passports and organised our room key. We had had a minor issue with our booking prior ... Read more

the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.I can honestly say it was one of the nicest hotels, and nicest experiences I've came across in Dubai. What a hidden treasure. We had heard about this hotel from a friend and decided to take a chance. The staff was courteous and helpful...not what I expect in Deira Dubai, Overall a most positive expedience in the perfect location."

This hotel has serviceful staff, combined with clean facilities and spacious rooms. Location is near Al Ras metro station, and you have ATMs and one restaurant near it, as well as spice souk. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, will recommend it!

I highly do not recommend this hotel.... it's not even a hotel it's a Brothel. Firstly the rooms smelt of strong scent of damp and the room was very dusty. Secondly, if you stay at this hotel you will find it difficult to sleep as there is two clubs on the top floor, which play music all through the night. And thirdly, you will see many prostitutes which come in and out of the hotel late at night.

Stayed in the hotel last week while transiting through Dubai. Although it's a 3* hotel but it's service was as good as 5* hotel. Once we reached there Anwar happily welcomed us and gave us an upgrade to executive suite. They also arranged complimentary airport drop next morning. Pros: located at the best location in Deira overlooking the Dubai Creek; 5 mins walk to Gold/Spice souk. Just other side of the creek is Meenabazar. So an ideal place for shopaholics transiting through Dubai. Spacious,... Read more

We have booked at St George with supposedly a decent discount, and knowing the "real' price has pretty much worked up my expectations with this hotel which were unfortunately not met. I'd say the room and the facilities were after all quite all right, but it was worth the price we paid only. It was good to have breakfast in the hotel even though the choice was not too big, but for us it was fine, we are not picky or something. I missed real coffee though which is, I believe, was a shame not to h... Read more
