I arrived before check in time but that was not a problem. I was checked in quickly and had a room looking over various fine buildings with golded domes. I also had a view of the Dnieper River but with an outside temperature of minus 21 C the river was well frozen. A 400 metre walk took me to the Arsenalia underground station. This is the deepest underground station in the world - two escalators take you down to a depth of 105 metres, so the locals told me. It is only two stops to Teatralna whic... Read more

I had a room with the balcony with a great view on the Lavra and the River. The general equipment of the hotel is well used but still OK, specifically comparing with the price. Restaurant is good with tasty food. I enjoied the central location of this Hotel

This is hotel was quite a pleasant surprise. It is a funky old soviet hotel (with ramps intend of stairs), that somehow managed to keep the old-fashioned style, still delivering all the confort a traveller might need. Wifi works great, the hotel room was big, confortable, with minibar, flatscreen Tv and good shower. The staff speaks good english. We didn't try the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that, but the cafe that works on the lobby was really nice. Good central location. No complains

An excellent hotel in a great location. Very near to the Metro and just one stop into Maiden Square. Great view from balcony. Traditional breakfast with plenty of choice. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

This is a hotel from the Soviet days but works fine and has an excellent central location. 10 min walk to the metro. On the way to the metro there is a traditional very good Ukrainian restaurang. The round unusual design of the hotel is interesting and works fine. If you are on the "right" side you have a nice view over the river Dnepr and the golden roofs of the Monastery, a historical place well worth visiting. Go down to the caves in the monastery if you are not too claustrophobic ! The room... Read more

The hotel is very conveniently located, and offers great value for the price. Nice clean rooms, very friendly staff. The building itself is quite interesting - a Soviet-era futuristic design - one of the main reasons we picked it in the first place.

Loved our stay here. The staff was helpful, nice and spoke English. We arrived at around 9am expecting to have to leave our bags and stay out till check in time but the room was ready! Had room 607 which has amazing views of the obelisk and Lavra. Location is convenient, there are supermarkets nearby and the nearest station is around 10 min walk away. Would stay there again

I found Salute Hotel to be visually interesting, well-situated, and very enjoyable. I was passing very briefly through the area, and wanted an interesting place to stay. According to a local guide, the hotel was constructed during the Soviet area to look like a 'corn stalk,' since at the time, many believed the secret to competing with the West was to grow more corn (since America had so much corn...) The building ended up looking more like a grenade however, and that is apparently what it is no... Read more

I need someone where to stay overnight on route back from another destination and having been to Keiv before I fancied staying at this Soviet designed hotel which has by far the best vies of the city. Although, a little old, it ticked all the boxes and was value for money. Nice helpful staff and in a great location for sights and metro.

The price is same as hotel Rus, but smaller hotel. Smaller breakfast in am. Location is fantastic for site seeing. There are billiards and a piano. The balconies and view from balcony is a big plus. Rooms are ok. Tv channels limited. There is very short walk to metro. There are women who linger out front of hotel and at restaurant at night which is nice.

Was actually there before in 1996. At that time it was typical Soviet era hotel with all the furniture and staff accordingly. Now it is much better with the staff but the rest... At the breakfast I've counted 6 different types of coffee/tea cups. Looks like they were collecting them all over the place. Same concerns teaspoons. Very controversial impression. But very good location.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Our room was Soviet style standard but the greatest thing was the balcony. We were on the 4th floor with a great view of the Dniper river and a little view of the Kiev Pechersk Levra to the right. We stayed there for 6 nights, slept great and the bed was really sufficient for 2 people. It's so unique that the whole hotel is in a shape of a grenade. If you don't use the minibar, definitely use this to store your drinks, as there isn't much in there. Grea... Read more

The worst hotel I have stayed in, in Kiev. This hotel has a great location and is build in a soviet style. The rooms everything has a soviet style. This could be wonderful retro and funny and attract tourist that wanted to experience this period. But it is not funny. Almost no one speaks English. Whenever the reception does a mistake they blame you. You did wrong not them. The for is awful, The reception depressing. Nobody seems to care, Very strange... In the middle of Kiev it seems like this h... Read more

Good location near subway, room nice and clean, bed very comfortable, breakfast OK ... Only 3 BAD things : 1. Outside 2-3 °C inside room COLD to. half cold radiator creates a discomfort (i think the water circuit not flowing properly needs to be fix ) 2. One morning had to run water for 10min to finally have warm water to shower 3. WiFi very unstable
