We travelled with a group of few people. The hotel was a real surprise. We were welcomed by the owner himself and his French wife. The rooms are stylishly furnished. At breakfast they can prepare you fresh Turkish pancake with onion, very delicious. You should definately try the restaurant, food was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had problems with the bathroom door and they fixed it immediately. I highly reccommend!

We had booked a 2 day tour of Cappadocia with a company that also provided a one night stay at a hotel. To our surprise it was beautiful, romantic, convenient, quiet, and excellent in every way. We enjoyed the evening selections for dinner as well as chatting with the delightful owner. The morning breakfast was delicious also. The antiques from years gone by were very interesting. Well appointed. We enjoyed our stay 100%.

Excellent hotel in cappadocia with very good location and well designed with cosy and frindely atmosphere. Good for all couples, small family and big family. Hotel arrange city tour for attractions in cappadocia and also a range a marvellous air balloon trip with magnificent views for shooting. Interested in hand made carpets, cappadocia is the right place.

I have stayed twice here and each time has been wonderful. I have old connections to Urgup as I was an exchange student there in the '70's and my sister related to Halil. I love the comfort and beauty of the staff, the food is delicious, the staff excellent and attentive and the rooms are outfitted with actual Turkish linens and spectacular rugs. I have also purchased rugs on three occasions from him and he has been wonderful, honest and patient as I chose. Thank you, Halil and staff for suc... Read more

An wonderful hotel to stay at. The owner Mr Halil is a fantastic host who made you fell welcome. The Hotel is very close to resturants and a vineyard. A visit to Mr Halils carpet factory and shop is well worth the experience. I would stay there again.

Over priced, staff unprofessional and over bearing, hotel run by a family who stays there and keep an eye on you which is quite uncomfortable. Cleaning staff is rude. One of a guy (appears to be security/room service) was extremely rude. He snubbed my 6 years old son for moving a chair in breakfast room. Breakfast options are less for the price, bread finished and they refused to replenish. Beds were uncomfortable. Wifi was excellent.

This is a fascinating and romantic hotel. Like many of the Urgup boutique hotels, it was a derelict stone house until its recent renovation. It is partly built into the hill behind, hence the title 'cave hotel' (nothing to do with cave men!), around a courtyard garden, complete with rose bushes, private nooks, several cats -- and two pet tortoises. Our room, or rather suite, consisted of a bedroom, partly built into the hillside; a sitting room with large Turkish divan, satellite TV, and ref... Read more

We visited Cappadocia over a year ago and stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Avanos. As with the large chains it was comfortable, but with the multitude of buses coming in to unload the tourists, it became a quick lesson in staying there. Breakfast was like watching locusts devour everything. We had to get our own refills on coffee. It was even a bit embarrassing. This time we decided to stay at one of the local hotels instead and it was a wise choice. The Selcuklu Evi was one m... Read more
