See the island in its unspoiled beauty. Attractions Details Nearly 20% of Aruba has been designated part of this national park, which sprawls across the eastern interior and the northeast coast. The park is the center of the government's long-term ecotourism plan to preserve resources, and showcases the island's flora and fauna as well as ancient Arawak cave drawings. At the park's main entrance, Arikok Center houses offices, restrooms, and food facilities. Within the confines of the park are Mt. Arikok and the 620-foot Mt. Yamanota, Aruba's highest peak. Many tour companies offer excursions through these wilds but, thanks to well-maintained walking paths, exploring on your own is also an option. As you walk the trails, expect to see divi-divi and kwihi trees, exotic cacti, indigenous aloe, and many tropical birds and lizards. , Weg Mar Fontein , Aruba Phone: (297) 582-8001 |
