This beautiful sculpture is the calling card of Puerto Vallarta. Attractions Details The Seahorse Statue, “Caballeo del Mar” was created by Rafel Zamarripa and has a history as interesting as the bronze sculpture itself. Almost a decade before Zamarripa’s statue became the first sculpture on the Malecon back in 1976, its identical twin stood at the south end of Los Muertos Beach. However, high waves and strong winds eventually toppled the statue and it was lost to the sea. Years later after a replica was installed the original mysteriously reappeared, only to be lost again when hurricane Kenna visited Puerto Vallarta. Remarkably, the statue was found and then reinstalled yet again. Downtown , Puerto Vallarta , Mexico
