FIRSTLY the location is still stunning and beats a lot of other places this being the main reason we have returned over 7-8 times to the firstly being called rydges beach back in 1999.. we booked superior room king bed. checked into room and it was 2 seperate beds ? really ? were a couple. they moved us into another room which was not superior just standard, but after travelling from england couldnt be bothered moving again so stayed.. breakfast for europeans was by far the worst selection... We moved from the Best Western which is just down the beach because we decided we wanted to stay longer in Bang Tao Beach and the Best Western was full. So the Amora was very disappointing after the Best western. In the restaurant near the beach I ordered a thai dish and asked for it not to be too spicy, but found it inedibly hot, my husbands main course arrived after I had finished mine!! The hotel is generally tired and overdue a revamp. The european breakfast is dreadful (baked beans?, no th... Read more

Clearly, this was once a very smart and popular hotel. The gardens are generally well kept and the buildings are in fair condition. However, it would seem that the 4-star rating is outdated ... The rooms are clean and comfortable but the decor and paintwork is looking tired and needs refreshing. Amenities ... The shop is not very well stocked and over-priced. The wifi is very slow and it is difficult to get clear advice on the various zones for login. There are 2 pools, one of which is undergoi... Read more

The photos are very deceiving. This place seemed like it was a great resort 30 years ago and haven't upgraded since. Once we arrived (3 of us) we were greeted which fresh hand towels and big welcoming smiles. However that all changed when we said we're adding a person (it was originally just two). Their attitudes quickly flipped. They became rude and clearly annoyed. After we settled everything we were brought to our room we noticed how dirty everything was (pictures will be provided). When we... Read more

Great position on the beach and not a large resort . Value for money if your not after going out every night in patong etc as taxi's will soon mount up . Beautiful beach front and some nice restaurants within walking distance up the beach too . Only moan would be the air-con even if you turn yours off you can still her the other hundred fans humming away :-( Staff were all very helpful except a certain rude lady boy on reception ??? Can't fault it for the price to be honest as I wanted a base... Read more

a big hotel complex so best to book a room on the third floor, stairs only with a afternoon sun view of the main pool . this is the less noisy spots . great place on bangtao beach for walking the beach to all the shops and restaurants outside of the hotel. breakfasts are good if you wait until after 8 -30 as before then the china tour groups take over and is noisy. after 9 they are all gone and the whole place ,pools and all are yours. best for about a 5 day stay then move on.

Nice big pool, good breakfast that was topped up after the rush. right on the beach, nice big pool and a smaller one too. rooms a little tired but for the price we didn't mind. Only thing is its a little bit on its own and the only way to get to BangTao shops is to walk on the beach or get ripped off by a taxi.

A resort close to the beach and away from the night life. It's hidden inside the town and if you're unfamiliar with the location, you wouldn't find it. It's not one of the best beaches that Phuket has to offer. If you want solitude and peace, this would be ideal for you. The resort has two restaurants and pools. It offer massages by the beach. In and around the town there are restaurants and bars. We couldn't venture much because it rained all throughout our stay.

However this has 4 stars is beyond me. They can only be based on the gardens and the view. Our rooms were shabby and damp. The breakfast was poor and the restaurant smelled like an old canteen. We had wood worm shavings on our pillows upon arrival and they kept appearing. The hotel needs a complete revamp. The pond was dirty and the amenities were shabby. Very disappointing.
