I found a bargain so decided to come back for my third visit. I took a deluxe room over a superior room this time. Only difference was no pool view. Everything else the same. Resort clean and friendly as always. Team remembered who I was which was great. Buffet breakfast fantastic. Again took free wifi over bar fridge, you get two beers a day if you take that option which you can buy from local 7/11 for under 100baht so always recommend you take free wifi. Central location is fantastic, great po... Read more

Stayed here with friends for 6 nights in a deluxe room. Room was spacious and clean with balcony overlooking the entrance surrounds. Quiet yet convenient location. Staff were friendly. Pool was clean with bar staff on hand. I would stay here again. The shower was good but unfortunately you had to step up over large bath.

Stayed there in a 'Superior' room for a week in April. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The only issue was the way the bathroom was designed - impossible to have a shower without getting a puddle outside the tub. I have seen this complaint before and they really should do something about it. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. We will stay there on our next trip - will probably look for the 'Deluxe' room though.

Back again to this hotel for the location and swimming pool. Problem with the leaking shower onto floor seems to have been resolved. Some work going on behind hotel at the moment but didnt start till later in the day. Another great stay here at the r mar. See you in January.

close to all not on the beach but close by to all Very typical Thailand hospitality rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was average If I knew I would buy it each day out of the complex you can get a better option for less than what was charged but otherwise the rest of our stay was enjoyable. One complaint re noise from guests slamming doors in the early hours was really annoying despite the note on every door not to slam them people ignore it

Recently I visited Phuket and stayed for two nights on 25 n 26th May at this Hotel. Really felt very ill treated simply on demand for two extra tea bags and creamer. Staff is very rude, not only denied for that but refused in very insulting manner I had seen reviews of this hotel before booking on trip adviser and came to that only negative point is the little bit noise in lobby coming upto your room but sorry to say very loudly noises woke up us at 5am only Horrible experience one should neve... Just returned from a 9 night stay. I thought the hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. Clean, safe and close to the beach and Bangla. All the staff were more than willing to help you if you asked. Rooms were great, we had the deluxe room. They were clean and spacious. Yes there is that shower problem, not the best design. But it was never an issue for me. If or when I return, I'm definitely staying here again.

Lovely property, unfortunately overlooking a construction site at the back, BUT, get A poolside room and you cannot hear anything, I want to say thanks to the pool bar girl who looked after me (Chang please?) Room plumbing to be desired, take a shower and you are under water. BUt, a nice place, 5 minutes walk from whatever you want in Patong.

Not the best place to stay in term of the condition of the rooms, it's old and the bathroom leaks and is very old. Location is perfect near Patong beach Bangla road but also far enough from the noise and the loud music id recommend it for location.

R Mar is rather hidden. Even locals didn't seem to know where it was. A short dog leg dead end street, just a couple blocks from the Bangla Rd. It floods durning heavy rain and you need to take your shoes off and walk thru it. Kind of dirty and no way around it. The staff was friendly. Sometimes a bit hard to get good information out of them in english, but no complaints. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. But as everyone else seems to report. Water from the shower does want to flood t... Read more

Overall very good hotel. One receptionist in particular very friendly and always smiling. Location is just perfect. Cheap continental breakfast available nearby with good fresh watermelon juice. Close to Bangla road (illuzion is a good night club) but quiet at night. Off peak the hotel felt like ours. Top notch room service. Enjoyed having the balcony; too bad no view to come with it. That pond at entrance though.

Very friendly service. Large rooms. Clean rooms. Quiet. Close to Bangla Rd and Shopping Centre. Approximately 10 minute walk. Pool is large x 2. Large king bed is probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in for beds in Thailand are usually very hard. Breakfast is basic but covers everything. Their room service meals and pricing are very reasonable. Although I haven't ordered room service yet, I often see where people have. I would definitely be booking this again with my wife.

We just travel to Phuket and stayed at this hotel...and this is the second time we stayed here...we booked for 11 room..we had 6 family travel along with kids...everything is great at the beginning...but its very terrible service when we are checking out for the last day....just because of slipper... i am very sure that we have left 2 set of slipper in the room when we checked out...but when we were going to leave...the reception told us that only had 1 set slipper in the room. So we need to pay... Read more

Really enjoyed my stay here, great hotel and modern and well located. The room I stayed in was really big with a good sized balcony. The facilities in the hotel were great, Small gym but well equipped, Swimming pool awesome, spa really good and inline with prices outside of the hotel. If there was one drawback could here the music from Bangla Road late on in the evening/early morning. Hotel Manager/Owner (didn't get her name) was amazing really helpful, talkative and genuinely interested in you... Read more

I stayed there with my wife and 8 month old son last December for 4 nights and we totally enjoyed your stay in R Mar Resort & Spa it is very clean and very short walk to the famous Patong beach, restaurants and shopping area. The room was very specious and clean with nice big balcony. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The pool is very big and clean. We totally enjoyed their massage services too. We will stay there again

A nice, quite hotel, we found it to be very quite place. The staff is very welcoming and kind. The room is nice, the swimming pool is clean and nice, the breakfast is not that much but my husband and I enjoyed it. They are not aware of the gluten free bread, so my husband had a problem in the breakfast.

We stayed here for 3 nights for the last leg of our holiday before we had to go home. The price isn't too bad, was around the $80 AUD mark per night I think and we gpt to check in over an hour early which was pretty cool. The location is pretty central and considering it is just a short stroll to the busy Bangala Road it remains relatively quiet. The food and drinks weren't bad when we had Thai food buy the pool. The breakfast was the stock standard it is pretty much everywhere we have stayed. B... Read more

Was pleasantly surprised to see our resort nestled away from the madness of the strip, not visible from the Main Street I was getting worried as we approached as most of the local guest houses in the surrounding area look like they charge by the hour, great room, lovey comfy bed, working fast wifi, the location is superb for beach and Bangla RD, hotel facilities not great, restaurant ultra basic, same applies for the gym, nice pool area though..

The hotel is pleasant enough, however is looking a little dull and tired and would benefit from a makeover. Room size was acceptable, with a large comfortable bed. However, I have a tip for future users - try to get a room overlooking the front of the hotel. Mine was overlooking the back and faced the wall of the property next door. This was pretty unattractive and rendered the balcony useless as it was a very uninspiring view. There was building work underway in the vicinity which generated mo... Read more
