Everything about this hotel is solid. Great clean, large quiet room. Pool is largest in Thai. Shuttle to Ao Nang very convenient . Staff very helpful. We did not want to leave. I am on the road over 200 days a year. I stay in many hotels and this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

On first seeing the hotel, you can't help but marvel at the scale and size of the resort. It looks stunning from the outside. The lobby is huge and looks amazing, the staff were helpful and had great customer service skills. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights from 18 May 2016. The room (174) was spacious and well presented. The bed, now that was something entirely different. After just 15 minutes of laying on it, my ribcage began to hurt as the bed was like laying on stone or a plank of wood.... Read more

We stayed for 10days in May 2015. This is a beautiful hotel and the room are spacious and well appointed. But what really made this hotel really stand out for us was the genuine kindness and care shown by all the staff they really do try and make the holiday enjoyable. Unfortunately during our stay my wife had an accident and the care and attention shown towards her was incredible. Upon arrival you are met by staff and given cold towels and drink, you are then given a quick two minute shoulder massage by Spa staff who then go on to promote the spa services. Reception staff then go on to try and sell upgrades to the rooms by showing pictures on laminated cards. We were shocked at our room, certainly not 5 *, would say just about 3*. However be aware when booking: if you are a sofitel member but you book through a travel agent and not directly through the hotel, you do not get membership benefits or privileges. Also in our case, we booked through Expedia as a family of three and their conditions state 2 adults and 1 child (15 years old) for us. If at the moment of the injury itself, all the staff from the hotel was very pro-active and very professionnel. Still I can only emphasized that the pool, which is under the direct responsibility of hotel management was in an inappropriate state and extremly dangerous conditions. The Phokeethra is a really quite extraordinary property. Once you get past the scale of it - biggest hotel pool in Thailand, three hundred-and-something sunbeds, acres of golf course - you can't help but think about the impressive year-round undertaking of maintaining the place. I understand it's swamped with Swedes in the high season (not the turnips, the strapping blonde folk...), but I was lucky enough to stay in the low, wet season and, yes, it rained on and off every day, but what the hell,... We stayed last June at Sofitel Krabi during the low season. The entire hotel was just 20% full so we felt like being just the only guests along our stay. And because of that its well-expected pool was closed due to maintenance. I can't hide it was one of the biggest frustration of our trip to Thailand. But anyway it should have been done and these are those typical "costs" when travelling during low season. The hotel itself is amazing. Plenty of activities to do everyday even with so few guests.... I have stayed in a few hotels over the years but this is by far the best hotel and it will be very hard to beat it. When we had arrived someone had collected our bags and we were given cold flannels and juice. We was checked in very quickly while we sat down and given a tour and shown to our rooms our bags were brought up to us. The hotel room was very clean and the staff were very respectful by taking their shoes off before entering. The hotel room was amazing with air conditioning which mad... Read more

It's definitely worth paying the price and stay a little outskirt of the main attractions. If you like less crowded place, this is the hotel! Friendly & helpful staff definitely is a plus point! Thank you!

Wonderful hotel on Krabi. Last four times been in Sheraton as now called dusit thani. This is way better. We have all inclusive to hole two weeks and you can use a'la carte restaurant or buffet restaurant all of the time. Hotel staff very friendly and nice. Only minus is that beach is unclean and not good, but pool area very nice. Poolbar you get your daily drinks and if you like to eat there is good variety of burgers and sandwiches. I recommend this hotel for all. I love it.

After I had done most of my research, I was most excited to check into Sofitel. It seemed promising, and might I say I was not disappointed. Apart from their timely, impeccable welcoming manner, the hotel is built beautifully! THE POOL IS REMARKABLE. On our first day we got upgraded from a superior room to a junior suite, and that was the cherry on the cake. If you want to be right near Krabi town, however, this may not be the place for you. Its about a 20 minute ride into the town, but they pro... Read more

We stayed 3 nights in the 5 star Sofitel in Krabi. It is located a couple of miles outside of Krabi and Ao Nang beach. A little bit secluded but nice and quit for that reason. We received an upgrade from the junior suite to the prestige suite. These suites are even more spacious and still fairly priced. There are 2 flat screen tvs with 66 channels each including HBO in English. The Sofitel in Krabi does have the biggest swimming pool in Thailand and also have a pool bar. At this moment some rest...
