We spent 2 nights at this resort. Our Ferry pick up was seamless and the staff that greeted us was super friendly and helpful! The room was beautiful and the air-conditioning worked really well. The pool was great and beach access for snorkeling was perfect. The breakfast selection was average, but tasty. Dinner at the main restaurant was quite expensive, but the quality of the food was amazing. Even the Italian restaurant was really good. The restaurant staff was good, but the bar staff ... Read more

Lovely scenario, best private beach in Koh Tao, amazing pool and the hotel is, in general, quite beautiful and luxurious for Thailand. The problem is the service and especially the food. Most of the staff do not speak english or anything other than thay. The Capri Restaurant has a limited menu and they have no idea what is quality in service. Food wasn't bad, but that's it. Breakfast is probably one of the worst I have had in my life. It is almost repulsive. Flys everywhere, fruit and other fres... Read more

This resort is really a great place to stay if you just want to relax on a quite place. I stayed there over the weekend in one of their small bungalows. They are exactely like shown on their web site. The resort is a bit far away from the main village and you need transportation to get there, transportation is provided from the Resort. Koh Tao offers great options for day trips on a boat, the resort is the ideal place to stay.

You must stay in a Beach Villa at Haadtien. Wake up every morning with sea view and white sand in your feet is a luxury. Our Beach Villa (210) was very good located and very well equipped. The shark bay is the best beach to stay in Ko Tao. The dive center is really good , you can t return home without diving in Ko Tao.

It is a good place to stay. The beach had not clear water so we could not snorkel there. We had to go to other places in the island. The hotel is far from the main street so you will have to walk for a while or take the free taxi that the hotel offers you but beware the timetables!!

We just came back from Koh Tao... Don't let the wonderful pictures fool you. While we had a very nice simple pool villa, everything else in this resort was a big disappointment: - The beach: when you walk into the water you feel oil and filth under your feet. The water is super muddy. Definitely NOT barefoot luxury! The corals in the bay is completely destroyed. Not great for snorkeling. The only highlight is seeing lots black-tipped reef sharks. - Standard of hotel: not at a 4-star level at al... Read more

The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the breakfast and lunch options are not great, but that's fine when you are so cut off on a small island. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here if you want a desert-island beach hotel. We booked a Haadtien Villa a few days before arrival so managed to get a good deal. Set in beautiful gardens with sea views, very peaceful and idyllic. Beautiful beach. Swimming and snorkelling not so great due to the murky coral close to the beach, but you can wall... Read more

So first things first - place is fantastic and I would definitely come back. The resort, rooms and bay are stunning , unique and wonderful, the staff are great and all the facilities are first class. I kept looking around thinking oh my god this is suck. Snorkel is great value also (150) to rent a day and fantastic destination reefs on site. A few things to watch out for ( if this stuff bothers you ) - wifi sucks - cuts in and out and don't think about steaming anything - spa and scuba are m... Read more

What a wonderful place! We stayed in one of the villas between the beach and plunge pool rooms and loved it. It felt like paradise with a desert island feel. The rooms are all wooden with a lovely deck and lounger outside. They are also fully ACed which is great for the evening heat and keeps the mosquitoes away. Staff were lovely and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (we are now in Samui for another week and really missing it!!). It was very quiet and relaxing, the beach is beauti... Read more

After staying at Jamahkiri for a few nights we finished our 3 week stay in Thailand at the Haadtien Beach Resort. Our expectations were high for this beautiful resort in a tropical but they came up short. The grounds are rustic but gorgeous. The snorkeling is amazing. However, they are very rigid when we asked for an extra pillow or a scoop of ice cream on the brownie. The beds are hard and the breakfast poor. The place is loaded with flies. We loved this little hotel. Private beach was amazing and it was cleared every morning of leaves and seaweed. Breakfast selection was good although service was a little slow in the restaurant but staff were polite. Very relaxed vibe. As a young couple it was a perfect hideaway. We rented a moped to get around the island. There is a hotel shuttle bus but we didn't want to be limited to the bus timetable and taxi's were expensive so the moped seemed the best option. We stayed in a Hideway room for 8 nights. Unlike some reviews we found staff very helpful, friendly and all key staff understood English sufficiently. Our room was cleaned and towels changed daily. The main thing is to be aware of is that Koh Tao is an island which is not very sophisticated, great for snorkelling and diving but you will find little else to do apart from lying on the beautiful beach or beside the large pool. There are lots of great restaurants but you need to make use of the free s... We stayed at Haadtien Beach Resort for 6 nights and were shocked at how poor the service was. Firstly we were told to go and sit in some outdoor chairs by reception and wait for someone to check us in. This took about 20 minutes and even then we were greeted by a man who barley spoke English and just wanted our passports and credit card to take a copy of. We then waited another 20-30 minutes to be shown our room. ROOM - the rooms are small unique wooden villas which do look very nice but need ... Read more

Welcome: There was no welcome drink (first time I've seen that in Thaïland), we arrived at 10 a.m. and had to wait till 2 p.m. to finally get to our rooms, we were very disappointed because they tried to place us in a room where the air conditionner wasn't working, so we had to claim that at the reception center to get a new room (that we obtained after negociations). This was a lovely property best suited to those who can withstand the very hilly terrain. The room was very comfortable and had a spectacular view of the bay. The staff, and manager in particular were friendly and welcoming. The beach side restaurant was suitable for a convenient refuelling, however, the staff indicated that this was their first week so perhaps food quality and service have improved. Overall a terrific vacation spot that I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Review of Haad Tian / The Beach Club I will start with The Beach Club, the sister part of the Haad Tian site. My wife and I had booked to stay here originally but we were unimpressed. We felt misled by the pictures on the site and through Booking.com which may have suggested that the Ocean Balcony rooms had a second room, like a suite where there was a bathroom. This isn't the case. The balcony was nice, the actual bathroom was very small and the stairs from reception to the room totalled 63 (N... Read more

Really nice hotel with a fantastic thai beach, lovely pool, great restaurant and bar and beautiful rooms. We had to get a taxi to the hotel which was around ?4-8. Like many hotels on the islands of the Samui archipelago, the road doesn't go all the way to the hotel and some of it is a bumpy dirt track. Nowhere near the worst one I've seen though! Shark bay must be one of the most beautiful places on what is one of Thailand's most beautiful islands and this resort makes good use of it - relaxed and unspoiled. And if it weren't the most expensive place we stayed in Thailand it would merit more stars - but it struggles to make a four star resort - food is ok but better in town - and resort is less than 10 minutes away but infrequent shuttles and expensive taxis make it feel more remote than it should. We have visited this several years ago while cruising the area on a yacht. Then we have decided we should come back and spend a couple of days.
