The hotel makes a great first impression, they offer you wet towels and a drink whilst checking in and the bungalows and pool area look beautiful. On closer inspection though, there's A LOT that needs fixing inside the room. Lovely design but poorly lit. Poor cleaning, there were a couple of spider webs AND a small spider by the bed. Curtains lifting system didn't work for any of them, they provided a bedside oil lamp which didn't work and the toilet started leaking every time we flushed. The fi... Read more

We stayed in this hotel because of the diving centre "scubafish" onside and the nice style of the chalets on stilts in the pictures. It was a nice style, yes, but the rooms haven't been very clean, toilets at reception that I used once had been dirty as hell. The veiled muslim lady at the reception starred at me with no comment when I told here that the toilets near reception needed cleaning. The furniture in the chalets was simple and out of bamboo but although giving the chalet a nice asian... Read more

I booked a Seaview room and was there for 5 nights. Thus not sure why they put me in room 3 which is right abive/behind the bar where music is played really loudly until quite late. The room also had a lot of maintenance work to be done and the cleanliness of the bathroom and fridge was not up to standard. No teaspoon to make my coffee or hand towels for 3 days. Then, I asked if I could move maybe to a poolside room for a bit more peace and quiet. Oh wow, was moved to room 4 - sea and poo... Read more

Our first impression of this hotel was good. Not great, but good. The young receptionist was sweet, we were able to check-in early and the pool area looked lovely. Then we were shown to our room... The design and layout of the rooms is fine but that's as good as it gets. It smelt musty and hadn't been cleaned to a high standard. We then noticed the sign on the wall: "DO NOT EAT AND DRINK IN ROOM BECAUSE RAT WILL COME IN YOUR ROOM". We laughed it off at first; both the translation and the warnin... Read more

My wife and I stayed here and travelers beware! We experienced that nothing was working in the rooms. Several lights were broken, the shower was incorrectly installed and water sprayed everywhere, the safe was missing batteries and the hot water heater wasn't working. We asked to change to a better room and the second one had rats in our room with similar problems to the first. We originally booked 2 nights, but couldn't bear to stay the second.

The bungalows are great, the aircon is great, the housekeeping is fine..there, got all the usual complaints out of the way. It's a sweet little resort in a nice spot. The pool is lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent - but breakfast is really appalling (only order the omelet, God knows what happened to the poached/fried eggs). Yes, there can be a pervading smell of sewerage, which isn't great. The staff are sweet, but only a few speak even basic English, which can be annoying, particul... Read more

The room was beautiful and calm. Perfect for finding your zen and relaxing from London (my case) but the introduction to the hotel was rough. The reception area was smelly and untidy. The smell was too close to the restaurant to make eating there an option at all. The pool was lovely and the rooms/cabins were away from all the negatives plus the location in the little village was prime. Definitely worth trying the scuba fish diving nearby 10 second walk away. The whole area was amazing but the... Read more

We have been staying in budget accommodation for 4 weeks and decided to treat ourselves with a stay at Baan Laanta. Such a let down and waste of money. The grounds are lovely, stunning view and the pool area is great but this is where it ends. The bungalows themselves need a lot of work to be worth the money. The mosquito nets had huge holes in them but their were gaps in the doors so still mosquitoes around. The bathroom needed a good clean and little things needed to be fixed. We stayed in two... We spent 5 days at Baan Laanta and we didn't want to leave. The location is amazing if you are looking for calm and rejuvenating rest. The resort is located right next to a beautiful beach, which is not overpopulated, so you can have privacy and a lot of space. There are a lot of shops and places to eat on the street next to the resort, but you will rarely need to go there :) On the beach there are some rocky parts, so be careful with your feet or get around to find the clear sandy spots. There... Read more

this is a small resort with beautiful bungalows. the most bungalows are around the pool, which was a very nice pool, with cool !! water, which was great for cooling down. we stayded in a seaview bungallow, they are more expensive, the evening it is not a pleasure sitting at your terrace because of the smell from the food/ bbq below. there is alse a bar with playing music till 1100/1200 pm. the bungalows were cleaned every day, and the breakfast was better than normal in thailand. the v...
