We spent a few nights here and would recommend this resort to anyone! We were upgraded free of charge to a room with a beautiful view of the ocean. We really enjoyed the gym / pool and the location. Ridiculously close to the beach and a short walk to a few bars and restaurants on the main strip. Would definitely stay again!

It was our first visit to Phuket and we wanted it to be special. And the hospitality at Garden Chanalai Resorts ensured that it was more than special. From the ever-smiling and ever-helpful staff to the general cleanliness maintained, it was all quite impeccable. The resort is designed very well and our sea-facing room afforded a very good view of the beach and the sea. We spent a lot of time at the swimming pool which was very well maintained and the bar at the pool was well stocked. The breakf... Read more

We stayed here for 6 nights and stayed in an ocean view room which was right up the top the resort is built up a very step hill to provide these great views but there are lots of steps and I wouldn't recommend this for the elderly or unfit. The rooms were modern and clean with a huge bed. The resort is old but still nice the two pools were good with swim up bars. Good location with lots of nice restaurants close by. I stayed here for about five days. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I spent most of my time by the pool. The location is only about five minutes away from kata beach, but is about an hour to an hour and a half away from the airport. The rooms have individual air conditioning but the rest of the hotel, like the restaurant, only have fans. The staff is very friendly and speak English well. Hotel was good with attentive staff, nice rooms and a reasonable breakfast buffet. Great swimming pools although sometimes not enough loungers. Close to a nice section of beach with ample choices for entertainment and food. Some of the rooms are set back so are a short hike away from the entrance. Only gripe was the tree blocking my view when paid extra for a sea view room. I rented a second room for part of the time so my son-in-law could also stay near us. Such a cute and romantic hotel located near the beach and lots of shops and restaurants!! Hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. The only bad thing is that you have to go through an alley (which looks a bit shady), so we avoided walking through there at night. The buffet breakfast included eggs made to order, breads, pastries, fruit, potatoes, etc. Really good selection!! Staff was really friendly, which is always appreciated when on vacation!! Would definitely recommend!!

We stayed for two weeks and the general impression is very good. Has 2 small pools and is 100m from the beach. The staff is very friendly and polite. The restaurant has Thai and western cuisine; the latter is quite good and tasty but the portions are a bit small. The menu covers the basic food categories but the prices are misleading. There is a small note on the bottom of the menu that states that the IVA 7% and additional 10% service charge are not included.

Be warned if you want a room with a nice sea view, you will have a lot of stairs to climb to get to your room. The rooms are clean and have everything that you need when you're away except a hair dryer or an ironing board. The beds can be a bit hard. But aside from that for what your paying its a good hotel

My wife and I brought my father over for his 60th birthday. Him being a bigger man, they originally put him in a room that was up a lot of stairs. The next day they moved him to a room by the pool so getting around was easier for him. The breakfast was pretty good but they did not have a lot of vegan options for my wife so that could be improved somewhat. Overall we had a great time here be it swimming in the pool, having a drink at the pool bar or heading off in to the street for some dinner.

The hotel location is good. Walking distance to the beach and nearby got a lot of restaurant too. Minimarket also easy to find. The staff very friendly, but the breakfast just so-so only, but overall staying, it's a good value of hotel.

Amazing stay at this resort. Some decent places to eat within walking distance and really nice staff. The hotel has pretty good views of the beach and the pools were good to swim in. Only thing that was a little annoying is that there (for some reason) is sand on the pool floor you feel when walking almost anywhere in the pool and also because there's so many trees, there's a bunch of leaves as well. Other than that there were two other things that bothered me about our stay. 1 was our room was ... Read more

We found this hotel while in Kata and fell in love with it. The staff were incredible and made all the difference. They even upgraded us into rooms that had stunning views across the swimming pool and then the beach. The beach itself is only about 60 seconds walk from the hotel reception. We could not find fault with this hotel at all. Sorry- we did try.

Spent three nights here with my Son last month while visiting Phuket. To bring this review into perspective I need to point out I always stay in 5* Hotels, including Banyan Tree etc. while in Thailand. Last time I was here I stated in The Shore Katathani (which I see is now No1). (Check my other reviews) There is a old saying that suggests you get what you pay for - well, I'd say this is the exception. Knowing the area well I knew exactly where this hotel was and was worth a reality check at £4... Read more

Had the most amazing stay at Chanalai Garden resort in Kata Beach in Phuket. Since my stay was during the rainy season, the prices were unbeatable and more than 50% off. Ironically it only rained a few hours the first day I was there and as I was leaving. The other three days were amazing and sunny. The beach is directly across the street from the hotel after walking through a restaurant. The resort was really nice but what really made our stay amazing was the staff. Can't say enough good thing... Read more

. The hotel has two main pools and a workout room that offer a great view of the beach. The rooms are clean and the shower has both hot and cold running water. Not only are the rooms nice so is the staff. Everyone that we ran into welcomed us with a smile. Finally , everything is within walking distance . Bars, beach, clubs and restaurants. The only concern is that the streets are narrow so be careful! Otherwise it's a great location so enjoy .

This hotel is fabulous for the price. The rooms are huge and really lovely, all have some kind of a sea view, although some are somewhat restricted by part of the hotel. The staff were all lovely and really accommodating. There is in-room dining should you desire, and it is the same price as if you were to eat in the restaurant which we thought was great. It is a really large hotel so if your room is further back, prepare for some walking. But it's definitely worth it. The only let down for us ... Read more

We enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options including spicy Thai soup, noodles, etc, other Asian noodle options, eggs cooked to order, and all the basic more international options. No should go away hungry. We were underwhelmed with the Friday BBQ--that was our first and last non-breakfast meal there. Steak was really just a thin slab of overcooked and not even hot beef. Shrimps were good sized and very nice, and we thought the Mexican chicken was also tender and nice. ... Read more

I was positively surprised! You know the pictures you see online are not always what you get, but here it actually was!! The hotel is beautiful, clean, the view from our room was amazing and still you're close to all the restaurants and bars in Kata Beach. Considering the money you pay - it was excellent value!! Breakfast was not mind blowing but alright, the restaurant was open air so that was great. Can really recommend, especially if you go for the sea view room!

I recently had pleasure of staying in this fine resort where service is top-notch, Appreciate the management about it. Right from reception to restaurant to house keeping to janitors everyone greets you or smiles at you. Location Very close to Kata beach, if you walk through kata BBQ. Rooms and Bathrooms are clean. They got very limited number of TV channels. We stayed in beach facing room on top floor. very scenic view from the room. They got two massive swimming pool, fun to be on the pool ... Read more

We staied here for 8 nights at Deluxe Sea View room. Well equipped, spacious and comfy room with amazing sea view. Every day was great room service, whenever you want, simply call to the reception. Breakfast was good every day little bit different and many dishes to choose from European to local Thai food. Bed was quite hard, but upon request they manage it into softer. Every morning during breakfast the manager of the hotel was talking with guest about their needs and within one hour every wish... Read more

VIsited Phuket from 6th September till 9th September with my partner. We booked the hotel through booking.com 1-2 weeks before our arrival which totalled up to around only 625 ringgit for 3 nights excluding tax and other charges which is quite reasonable. Upon arriving at the airport, we took the minivan to the hotel which was cheaper, however mind that there are other travellers who are heading to different places sharing the same transportation. Since Chanalai Garden is located in Kata beach, ... Read more

This resort is 2 minutes walk (if that) from the beach. It's the south end of Kata beach which after visiting almost all of the local beaches south of Phuket it's by far the prettiest part we have found. Staff are awesomely friendly. Accommodate is great. Beds are Thai style so are quite firm. The only other drawback are there are lots of stairs, but in saying that there are lifts as an alternative. But don't let the stairs or the firmer beds put you off, this place is magical. We booked f... Read more

I'm a 37 y/o mum of 3 young kids traveling on my own for a week of 'me time' (involving reading, listening to iTunes, sleeping-in and watching an occasional movie). I booked a Deluxe Sea View room for two nights and checked in today, and was really looking forward to my stay based on all the positive reviews on here. I was disappointed to learn at check-in that from 9am - 5pm tomorrow, the hotel will be without power. Apparently they're upgrading the generator (don't they have a back-up?). I o... Read more

Sizeable resort but doesn't feel like it with accommodation spread out over the hillside. 2 great pools and a well equipped gym - really handy in the rainy season! Only eat in the hotel at breakfast but was more than satisfied. Wide selection of international food with live chef at the egg station. We were offered a breakfast box when we mentioned our early morning flight which was a nice touch. All staff were helpful and smiley at all times from front desk to maids. After much review I decided to stay at this resort. Let me first say everyone at the front desk was so helpful and accommodating. I traveled alone and booked a ocean view room. Which by the way the view was amazing!!!! the room is spacious, clean, comfortable bed and great working AC. Do be prepared to climb many stairs if you do book a room with ocean view. Remember the resort is built on a hill overlooking the ocean. The resort is very clean and child friendly. There are stairs everywhere but ... Read more

My boyfriend and I visited Thailand for 3 weeks back in June. We flew from Bangkok to Phuket, only to be surprised that the hotel we had initially booked in Patong Beach was very um, minimal and in an area that was too much commotion for us. We changed hotels to the Chanalai in the Kata/Karon area and it was exactly what we were looking for! The resort itself is very well maintained and the rooms are in very good condition. For the price, (we paid around $30 USD a night), you simply cannot beat ... Read more

Stayed for 3 days/2nights in Chanalai Garden Resort. My room was spacious and very comfortable. It was situated high enough that i had a wonderful view of the beach from my balcony. The staff were also so warm and accommodating. Only down side was lots of open areas where you can get wet getting from your room to the hotel lobby/restaurants and vice versa if it was raining. Chanalai Garden Resort is located one street back from the beach, with beach access via an alley way opposite the entry driveway. We had a seaview deluxe room and the view was awesome - definitely would be a reason to go back, just for the view. We found breakfast to be of a standard experienced in all other 4 star hotels in Phuket. There was nothing to complain about - variety was plentiful. Just to compete with other hotels, I would suggest that they have someone walking around with fresh ... Read more
