Stayed at Centara for eight nights (including breakfast) as part of an extremely cheap package from Oz. As a 68 year old male, travelling alone to Thailand for dental corrective work, I enjoyed my stay immensely. Room was adequate with excellent air-conditioning, good shower and a view from my balcony of one of the pools. Free "in room" safe offered document security. Breakfast offered many choices and food options changed every day. Staff were friendly, professional and always willing to go th... Read more

We stayed for a week. We were given rooms at the very end of the resort but the walk was worth it as the swimming pool was literally private to 10 rooms in the block. The rooms were very good and service was great. The only reason I have not given in 5 stars is because the breakfast could have had a much bigger choice, and it tended to get busy.

We stayed for six nights at this hotel after staying at Centara Seaview Khao Lak. This resort was great for our family of 4. We stayed in a one bedroom family suite on the ground floor. Plenty of room for us to move and a big balcony leading to the emerald pool. Lots of activities for all the family with the pool party a highlight and my son learning Thai boxing. The location was great with a short walk to lots of shopping and dining options. Breakfast was adequate however the choices at t... Read more

I spent one night after getting a one night deal with Agoda breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast was overall ok, but the dinner was absolutely awful. You can actually select anything you want from the a la cart selection, but nothing was really good. Salads where poor, pasta was terrible, pizza was really the worst I have ever had. Dessert was better but in general I expected something much better from such hotel category. Room was good, swimming pool is nice, perfect if you have kids

We were very surprised with the resort, the rooms were spacious for two - our teenagers had an adjoining room with two queen beds to ours with still room to spare. The resort was well located just off the hustle and bustle but in close walking distance to restaurants, shops, tuk tuks and massages! The resort breakfasts were typically south pacific resorts - buffet and plenty of variety. We ate dinner a couple of times at the resort which was reasonable. The resort itself is set in lovel... We enjoyed every moment at this resort which is well situated, close to all amenities and a 10 minute walk to the macnificent Kata Beach. The staff was allways friendly and polite. When we encountered a problem with a leaking air conditioner we were upgraded to another room. The resort promotes may activities for their guests and the various pools are lovely to relax and enjoy your vacation. Thank you to mamagement and all the staff, we had an enjoyable time.

A wonderful experience, the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was comfortable and the breakfast superb, we've never had so much choice! The only downer was; we went to see the special dinner feature of Thai dancers, their performance, along with the musicians was brilliant, particularly as they performed to an audience of two, my wife and myself. As a musician myself I really admired their professionalism.

This is our last day here of our 14 day holiday. The resort is close to everything. 2 minute walk and you have eveything at your finger tips. The resort is well maintained with friendly staff everywhere. The rooms are very spacious and clean. There are 3 pools, 2 are catered for families and the other for adults only. If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place. See you next year.

Anyone who reads my reviews would note that they tend to be positive. They are also usually sourced through TA. Sadly on this occasion l relied on my Travel Agent and left quite disappointed. Be that as it may, it would be remiss of me not to mention from the outset, that this resort is quite inexpensive. Like many Asian Hotels upon arrival there is a lovely foyer. Well lit and indeed pleasing to the eye. Sadly from there, the ambiance only declines. Our One Bedroom Suite was indeed large,... Read more

Our secound stay at this hotel in Kata beach. We stayed here for all our days we where in Phuket. When we arrived to the hotel we got a room with a very bad smell and an leaking aircondition, so we complained to the front desk and was upgraded to a bigger and better room on top floor, very good managed by the front desk! We got our room cleaned two times per day (I don't know if it was because we got an higer room-class...), in the morning/lunch and then in the evening they closed our curtains, ... Read more

The pools were lovely, plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. The room was spacious and had tea making facility and fridge. The room was sometimes only cleaned late in the afternoon. I found the level of English of some staff not good, some were friendly others not. The dining room was the most bland I have ever eaten in, it reminded me of a school dining hall. It had absolutely zero character. The breakfast was just as bland. They have boiled eggs but no egg cups. On most days we were faced with em... Read more

Have just checked out of Centara Kata and writing this awaiting my flight from Phuket. Family holiday with my wife and 8 year old daughter. We had a single bedroom suite. Daughter slept on couch / day bed. There was a trundle underneath if wanted to use as a couch and pull out for a bed, but didn't bother. Generally if we watched some tv, which was rare, all on the king size bed in our room. The only time we had both tv's going was during Australian election and neither wife or daughter cared fo... Our family of five (2 adults, 1 child & 2 teenagers) loved this hotel and location. Kata Beach (10 mins walk) was great for surfing. Our room was close to the main kids pool area (which closed at 7pm) and we had no problem with noise. We could walk out of our room straight into the pool - wonderful when we needed to cool off. Breakfast was included in our package and the buffet was plentiful, varied and delicious. In room dining was good although so many restaurants close-by to chose from. Room ... Read more

Centara Kata is a good base for exploring Kata. The rooms are comfortable providing for a good sleep and it's nice and quiet. The pools are ok but I think they need a little work. There are 2 pools and in each, some of the features are not working - nothing bad enough for me to say don't stay there but it was just an observation. Clearly this former resort (Jive Resort) was a mess that was on its last legs until the Centara bought it, slapped a couple licks of paint here and there and unfortunately kept the same staff. Kata has been the victim of poor town planning in that the beach is separated from the rest of the town by Club Med with no through access, you have to walk around it. That said, it's a level walk and there is a free shuttle from Centara Kata to the beach, although you will need to walk back in the heat or deal with the Tuk Tuk mafia who seem to have agreed that 200 baht ($8) is the minimum they'll go anywhere for. To get to Patong you will pay $1000 baht ($40) for a round trip so be aware tra... Read more

The waiter and waitresses have poor command in English(understandable as I am in Thailand and I don't really mind) but unfortunately, most of them are rude and short of manners. Breakfast was good as well. It would be nice if they offered an air conditioned eating area free of mosquitoes. The room we rented was a bit small for a familiy, so I do recommend an upgrade if you are a familiy. Free towels by the pool.
