At check in we did not receive the room with a sea view as booked but after speaking to the lady in reception they managed to move us. Just so you know this hotel is not on the beach which means a sea view is enjoyed from a distance if you are on the top floor and can see over the buildings infront of you. We also had to pay a deposit which we were not aware of and did not budget for. Note that this must be paid in cash or credit card. There is no other alternative!! That being said the room was... We stayed in a 1 bedroom spa cabana and it was a great option. Very large room, the spa was a very welcome addition and the outdoor shower ( there's an indoor one too) an added bonus. Lots to like about this hotel. Included breakfast was fabulous with lots of options, the hotel and our room was impeccably clean. All the staff were friendly and professional and the location terrific. Food in restaurants and pool bar was great. Lots of activities of you want to join in, lots of pool lounges if you... Read more

We visited the Centara Karon Resort for the third time and once again had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. It was in some ways unfortunate that the Azure Restaurant and Lagoon pool were closed for refurbishment but it did not spoil the stay too much and after all, it is progress. We had a seventh floor room in the terrace which was well looked after by housekeeping. All the staff were courteous, happy and helpful as has been the case on our previous visits. The Hotel is lovely, bigger than I expected as it was tucked away up a small street, and very green. The staff were lovely and were always happy to help you out in anyway they could. Housekeeping were excellent too, the rooms were kept clean every day. The entertainment staff were brilliant especially with the children, there is lots for them to do and they shouldn't get bored. We were travelling as a family, 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters. We stayed side-by-side in pool cabanas which were brilliantly located by one of the resort pools but also had plunge pools in each unit as, one plunge pool was in shade so beautiful temperature all day the other was in full sun so not as comfortable. We had units together so that we could just call on the resort phones to get in touch with one another but the girls phone didn't work and it did take a few days to get it fixed. Th... Read more

Best bits - Grounds are pretty, and Spa treatments are great. The venue is undergoing development currently - refurbing main pool and a restaurant. It's not noisy and if you know its going to be happening, you don't miss what you don't have, especially in quiet season where it's less busy. 2 other pools make up for the loss of the main one. Pool towels however are very old and stained, and loungers are plentyful but tired and sagging. Also the pool bar staff would often not collect empty ... Read more

The rooms are rather tired now and in need of updating. Shower curtains went out years ago except for at this hotel. In addition the hot water tap doesn't work and despite advising reception of this on two occasions they still haven't sorted it out. Pool surrounds need maintenance as the pebbledash is coming off in places. Breakfast is the same everyday but plentiful and well cooked although there is usually a wait to be seated.

This property is kid friendly. The rooms are spacious, break fast is sumptuous and pool is excellent. It is situated at a walkable distance from karon beach and one can have a lot of options to choose to drink and eat on way from resort to beach. We found a good indian restaurant named Taj Mahal there. It is a superstar property and will not let you down. The food in the hotel is reasonably priced and tour desk is helpful.

Everything you need in the rooms, breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, plenty of pools and they have a kids club. Central to beach, shops massage places and restaurants. Found it to be quiet as well.

This hotel is split into 3 areas, Terraces, Lagoon and Tropical. We were booked into the Terraces, which is the big building above reception. On arrival we were given a refreshing drink whilst we checked in , which was quick and painless. Staff are friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Although first impressions weren't that great, once we settled in, we actually liked the Terraces. Corridors can be a bit noisy , due to the concrete floors, but the views are amazing, and you can s... Read more

We stayed her for 2 weeks in July. It was our first time in Thailand. The quality of service from all staff was excellent. On arrival we were upgraded to lovely rooms by the Tropicale pool. Both rooms were large with balcony and large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Room was cleaned daily with fresh bottled water provided each day. Fridge in room so could keep it cold. Air conditioning was very effective. There are x3 pools but we liked the tropicale best which was right by our rooms. ... Read more

This was our 3rd time to Phuket but our first with the kids and our first stay here and it wont be our last. We only left a few hours ago and I cannot express properley in writing what a fantastic time we had at the Centara Karon Resort. From the moment we checked in we were welcomed as if we had stayed many times before. All of the the staff were so friendly and helpful. If there was a language barrier they found someone that would understand better, you were never told that they didnt know... Read more

My family stayed here in July and it's a great hotel for families. From the guys and gals at reception made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived made a real fuss of our children and even got a welcoming biscuit. The room (tropical) was large and very comfortable my eldest loved it that he had a huge bed to himself, it was very clean and the a/c worked great. The location was fantastic with lots of bars and restaurants around a square, the beach was a short 10 minute walk and for a c... Read more

Just checked out of the Centara Karon, the staff are amazing, lovely hotel grounds spacious deluxe room ground floor with balcony that opens up into 1 of the 3 pools. Very good menu both for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Downside was the hotel suffers from insects as does much of Thailand but found a few cockroaches running around and they were the size of a small palm! The hotel has lots of greenery around so is prone to lots of mosquitos but provide mosquito repellants and sprays in the mini ba... Read more

The Centara Karon Resort has a lot going for it. It's a modern resort in a great location, has beautiful well kept grounds, a great family atmosphere and one of the best kids pools I've seen but sadly it also left a lot to be desired: The staff were wonderfully warm friendly staff - but many seemed to have a little trouble understanding English leading to misunderstandings Our room was spacious, well presented and had all the mod cons - but always smelled musty and the bedding was always damp.... This hotel was a great place to stay with a family group which had a range of activities and pools to accommodate a range of ages (including kids club). Breakfast was amazing and the service from staff was excellent. Our room was on second floor of the tropicale building and there are no lifts...3 flights of stairs were a bit to get use to. Ordering food poolside was usually quick to receive and always fresh and delicious. Many nearby restaurants in easy walking distance. Tuk tuks available d... Read more

My sister and I had an 8 night stay at the end of July. We arrived there at 8.30pm, tired and exhausted from our big day travelling. Aoy looked after us for check in and was fantastic. We were given a free upgrade to a Tropicale room which we were very happy with. Very roomy and spacious. On our third night, all the mattresses in our area of the hotel were replaced with brand new pillow top ones, bonus!! We did the baht bonanza, but for us, we found it hard to spend all of it. On arrival after travelling nearly 8 hours we booked in & were told our room was on the 3rd floor. This particular building was not equipped with a lift-not happy as my wife has leg problems. Even I was knackered climbing the 7 flights to get to our floor. The Hotel made good the following day by relocating us to the Ground floor which was much better but no "king bed"- lots of others also complained about no lift service

First time in Thailand. Have to say i was very impressed by the hotel and their staff. Food was fresh and yummy. Facilities were amazing and so were the entertainment staff, my daughter grew quite fond of Liam, Mia and Veronica and always had fun. Those stairs are a killer once you do them a few times a day and are on the top floor. Will definitely be back.

We stayed in the hotel's only two bedroom premium suite for five nights in July 2016. We are a family with two small children and wanted the space to try and guarantee a good nights sleep for everyone! The suite is very large, well appointed, and clean. There is a bath in both bathrooms, as well as showers. The kitchen is also very clean, and comes with a full size fridge. There was a tv in both bedrooms, as well as the lounge. We were very pleased with our accommodation. We choose this h... Read more

We stayed at Centara Karon for 8 nights and it was fabulous. We stayed in the deluxe honeymoon room in the Terraces and highly recommend it for couples. The balcony is very spacious and we really enjoyed sitting in the spa pool at night listening to the music and looking at the view. the buffet breakfast is very good and the omelettes superb. The staff are certainly a great asset to the resort as they were all very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the pool that adjoins the terraces as it w... Read more

This is hands down the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at and at the same time was the most expensive hotel of my entire trip to Thailand. When we arrived I had to have maid service re-clean the room because there was clumps of dusty hair hanging from the lamp, dirt and sand on the floor, food or something all wiped over the counter tops and dresser - I almost threw up! Worse still the pool chairs are disgustingly dirty, the water in all of the pools is mirky so much that you can almost no... Read more

We stayed between 27th July - 6th August. Before arriving I had sent several emails all were replied to including airport transfer rather than negotiating with unscupolous mini cabs after 16 hour flight. Our transfer was waiting with cold towels and bottles of water, very welcome and needed! Upon our arrival at the hotel check in was hassle free - even a little early!! My partner and I have just returned from the most amazing 2 weeks spent at Centara Karon. When we arrived we were greeted with pleasant receptionists who spoke great English and were really helpful. The hotel rooms are spotless! They are cleaned daily and the minibar and free water is replenished daily. The breakfast was vast and plentiful and the waiting on staff were very efficient! We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 children aged 8 and 5 for 10 nights during April. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a family hotel. It is centrally located and even though it is not on the beach, it is just a few minutes walk to the beach. As you come out of the hotel there are restaurants and it you want a lovely foot or full body massage then it is just a very short walk from the main entrance to the hotel. The deluxe rooms have two double beds (more like queen size). My kids shared a bed (I don't think the resort offers single beds). It was great being on the bottom floor because our room opened out onto the lagoon pool, so we could come & go from room to pool side as often as we liked (handy for the toilet!). Buffet breakfast had a huge selection, then restaurants in Karon cost around 190baht per meal (approx $8 Aud). Massages cost 350baht (approx $14aud) or 1500baht in Centara. In addition to th...
