After reading some reviews we had mixed opinions of this hotel so were unsure what to expect... Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is made up of lots of different 'bungalows' with front gardens and set in what feels like a tropical rainforest. 1. Location It's a great location as its tucked away outside the centre but only by 10-15 minute walk. There is a local 7/11 store just outside with a couple of stalls also selling food etc. 2. Rooms Spacious and comfortable bed (you ... Read more

I spent 2 nights at Laluna Hotel and resort and I have to say I was very I was very surprised. The Bungalow room was large and comfortable and the pool area was very tranquil and the tropical. The Hotel is a little out of town but it is only a 5 minute walk into the centre and the restaurants coffee shops and night market in Chaing Rai. I only had breakfast in the Hotel so cannot comment on the menu but being out of season the hotel was fairly quiet. The question would I sty again yes I would ... Read more

After viewing the photos online for Laluna, I booked two rooms - one for me and one for friends, for an overnight stay in Chiang Rai. It looked good, with a nice pool and was supposedly well rated on most sites including Booking.com, TripAdvisor and Agoda. On arrival, there were a number of mosquitos in the room as well as a trail of ants across the top of the door outside. The bed was well worn with springs falling out of the side of the bed, and even with the foam mattress topper, it was sti... Read more

Avoid this hotel. Rooms are very hit & miss. Some are passable, most are awful. Mattresses should have been replaced years ago, instead they have just put foam over the top. Our bed had springs ripped out the side and sloped dramatically to one side. Rooms are not properly sealed, meaning a lot of mosquitoes (even by South East Asian standards). Rooms are also noisy due to other insects and reptiles. The hotel is quite far out of town and there is not a lot close by. The food and drinks at the h... Read more

We did arrive by plane and took an airport taxi to the hotel. The fixed price was 200 baht. I think a taxi with taximeter would not be much cheaper. Our driver was polite and helpful. As our plane was late we arrived at the hotel late but the staff was kind and helpful. We got a small house with one room and a large bathroom. Roomservice was avaiable 24 hours. The first evening we ordered a local speciality and Wiener Schnitzel which was not in the menu but the kitchen made it so good that I ha... Read more

Contrary to a previous review, in May 16 there was good service and no mosquitos. My garden villa was just that right in a garden. The pool was well maintained. Use the laundry lady opposite the hotel, but be prepared to use sign language. The two Cafes near by, opposite the old airport provide good quality cheap authentic Thai food.

We stayed overnight at the hotel and that was enough. The rooms were average and the beds uncomfortable. There was a beeping noise in our room throughout the night and the room was infested with mosquitoes. The pool was very nice and relaxing which is the only positive for this hotel. The restaurant was over priced even by Australian standards so we had one extremely small expensive cocktail and left.

A lovely quaint resort set in a jungle like surroundings, it has a very tranquil feel to the place with a decent sized pool. The room was clean comfortable and there was plenty of room for 3 guests. My only disappointment was the breakfast was boring and never changed from day to day.

Honestly.. This hotel is good in their maintenance.. But their staff is really like want to fight with us.. Two guys at receptionist young one and old one are talking to us impolite.. And the worst is the lady staff who stand for breakfast service coupon.. Can't understand english language but talk to me in a their language in high voice and impolite.. I book this, with non refundable policy.. If this can refund we will go to another hotel.. The worst ever.. Will never ever think to stay here..... Read more

The bungalows are located in a wonderful "jungle garden". Nice rooms well equipped with comfortable matresses. Bad point : no plugs in the bathroom for your hair dryer or razor. Nice swimming pool but no bar...Good breakfast but prices of the restaurant dishes are overrated....

We spent less than 12 hours (overnight) at the resort was we arrived at night and left in the morning, but it was gorgeous. The couples room was very clean, modern and stylish. we stayed in a villas style room. Breakfast was great and the wifi was ok. Short taxi to the night markets

We recently visited this hotel for a long weekend. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We were too early to book in and so we checked out the Tour Desk. The gentleman so very helpful and suggested the White Palace as it was close to the hotel . He drove us out to the palace and recommend a little restaurant for a light Thai meal. The White Palace is a "Must See " in this area . He returned after 2 hours to pick us up and return to the hotel. By this time our rooms ere ready and our luggag... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Laluna. The hotel grounds are beautiful; the bungalow style rooms set in an oasis of plants and flowers. We had a pool side room which was great. Good size for a family of four - 2 adults plus child sharing a massive King bed and a separate single for the other child (you pay extra for the additional bed). Our kids are 6 so sharing space was fine. Pool area was really nice. Good size and plenty of seating. Great way to relax after a day exploring the sights. Break... Read more

Room 2/10 Staff 6/10 Breakfast 7/10 Gardens 10/10 Room air-conditioned did not work. It was never serviced in the 3 days I stayed despites numerous complaints to front desk. The maintenance answer was to remove the key from the stick used to keep the aircon running. But, housekeeping removed the stick when they cleaned, so room was always hot when we returned and the room did not get under 80 degrees until well after midnight even with the settings on max cool. My friends room had water runni... Read more

I have been staying here for most of my trips to Chiang rai. The feeling of a relaxing atmosphere each time I check in had indeed destressed me to a certain extent. The nice garden set up coupled with quiet surrounding are plus point for my getaway breaks. Comfortable room, simple and nice breakfast, friendly staffs and clean surrounding are truly value for money for anyone who is considering a visit to this charming city.

Beautifully appointed.mhelpful, friendly staff. Beautiful pool area. Bed a bit firm for me but not unbearable. Night market about 20 mins walk, although tuk tuk from hotel about 30bht each. Great variety for breakfast. Arranged local minivan for about 4000baht with stops at Karen long neck tribe, and golden triangle on way to Chiang Khong. Interesting to see tribes in local villages and the opium museum was excellent.

After a hot and sweaty day travelling we visited here, checked the room and it was great. The staff were fantastic, eager to please and professional with it. We asked for drinks on the terrace (out of hours) and they complied willingly. I cannot say enough about our stay there, after staying in some twenty hotels in Thailand and although I didn't like the town of Chiang Rai, this place was the business.

The room was clean and nice the bed was comfortable. This was the first soft bed I have found in Thailand. The pool are and the whole grounds are beautiful. Free breakfast in the morning. There was lots of variety including eggs cooked fresh to order. We wished we were staying longer. The staff was also helpful and curious.

The bungalows of this hotel are hidden in a lush, beautifully planned tropical garden. A pool offers privacy. Despite the fact that most of the rooms were taken there is no filling of a crowded hotel. The place is not new but recently the bathrooms were renovated. Laluna has been built in a old good tropical hotel style with teak wood floors, natural materials, huge rooms etc. Some parts need more attention (worn sofas) but overall staying there it is an unique experience, offering relaxing vibe... My room smelt like mold and cleaning products so I asked to be changed. Each room was worse than the other, I finally gave up. Staff was extremely rude and unwilling to help. The food was awful, overpriced, and their menu was not updated to what they actually offered. Even the massage was awful, something I didn't think you could screw up. Would never recommend to anyone.

We stopped here for one night after travelling from Chiang Mai. The staff were very friendly and the pool was very nice. We found that the air con was very noisy during the night but it was too hot to switch it off. Although there probably isn't much they can do about the noise from the air con. We ate in the eclipse restaurant at the hotel and the food was delicious. I am a fussy eater and don't like anything spicy so I was happy to find something i liked. The hotel soroundings are beautiful. The bungalows are wrapped with dense vegetation, feeling like you are in the midst of a tropical jungle. The rooms are spacious, even after adding a child bed. The pool is fantastic. Breakfast is pretty good. However, service staff are a bit incapable (couldn't assist even in finding bus departure time). Air-conditioning in the room was a bit noisy. Also, you need transportation to get to the city center, as getting there by walk is not convenient. The hotel ... Read more

Upon arriving we were a bit concerned we'd come to the wrong place as it was very grand, the foyer was really nice and we found the staff very inviting. The gardens were stunning and gave you a feeling of being surrounded by "well manicured" jungle. Our room was large, everything about it was large, the bed which was also very comfortable, bathroom, shower recess. Breakfast was large too if you got too carried away which was on offer. we liked the hotel and its rooms .. the pathways to the rooms are lined with beautiful flowers of different kinds and the pool is warm and inviting. The service was below standard and looked for every opportunity to fleece guests - this extended to the tourist desk and concierge who would force guests to take expensive tours which are one fourth the cost in town - the same for the rental of vehicles... they quote one rate and when you confirm they say cars are not available.. the front desk wo... I stayed here on My birthday and nothin special for me, but im ok with this :) the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast is very nice and delicious. In to the room, the bed is so tiny, i think about 3 feet for twin room, the pillow is to hard but the pool is good. You have a cheap hotel around Laluna Resort but up to you:)
