My family and I spent a few nights here in November. I keep forgetting to write a review but I have purposely reopened my app to just write a review about our Thailand experience because it was so wonderful. I have worked in the hotel industry for many years and was pleasantly shocked and surprised by this unbelievable little boutique hotel. Their attention to detail was unbelievable and the cleanliness was definitely five star rating. The pool was clean and perfect size for a city hotel. We we... Read more

This hotel was recommended by a friend & it didnt disappoint. We stayed 4 nights over Songkran & it was a little haven tucked away from the busy bustling streets. It was a lovely walk to the night markets or to the Tha Pae Gate. The staff were delightful, helpful & very friendly. Breakfast was ample for westerners with a decent muesli & other cereal & plenty of fruit. If you like an asian style breakfast it has great appeal. Ee would definitely stay here in our next trip up to Chiang Mai.

Me and my friend stayed in this hotel for two nights in April. The hotel designed in Thai atmosphere, rally pretty, colorful and transitional looking. The rooms are pretty as well. Very cozy and clean! Location is very central, any way chiang Mai is very small and everything is walkable. The reception crew very nice and welcoming. Pool is great and the BF is very good and rich with different types of food. We loved it!

Viang Thapae is a great little resort, well located in Chiang Mai. Staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are cleaned extremely promptly, and breakfast is nice. We had a great stay! Highly recommend the deluxe room as it has a private balcony.

With so much choice in terms of hotels in Chiang Mai we finally decided on Viang Thapae for its location near to the old city and not far from the river. Our decision was perfect everywhere within walking distance but the hotel is down a quiet back street - a oasis of calm. Our room lead ot onto one of the two pools and was simply stunning. The hotel is new but the decor is very much Lanna style (old Thai) Breakfast is taken in the breakfast room overlooking a small lagoon. I would say it ... Read more

A great little hotel within walking distance of the old city "The Big Gate" , Walking Street , the night market and the river , set in a very quiet back street . Our room was beautiful with a comfortable bed , large rain shower and located on the ground floor with access to the pool , which contrary to other reviews did see sunshine and was not as cold as portrayed . The hotel had wi fi throughout including the room , served a good breakfast , western and Asian all complimented by the lovely sta... Read more

Very nice resort. The staff was very helpful with directions and arranging transportation. The hotel was very clean. The room was very clean and the air conditioning worked great. The resort had two nice pools to enjoy. The only knock was the breakfast could use a little more variety.

The front desk staff, who should represent the first impression of the resort were lack of smile on their faces. It's a pity that this nicely-designed hotel is undermined by their ill-manner. For the breakfast, the table and the food were always invaded by flies. However, the hotel did not resort to improve the situation. The wifi was very slow and logged off when the device was idled for while. Although the hotel has beautiful gardens and swimming pools, it's a bit disappointing due to the abov... Read more

Good location as its away from the busy streets! But night bizzar and alot of shops 5 mins away, the room was beautiful ! The food is expensive but go out the back or side street its way cheaper! We had a room that you could walk into the pool it was amazing and the gardens are really nice, i would say though book activities out of resort ! Its not huge also so its nice!

Me and my friend stayed here for 2 nights, our bags were taken to our room for us and we were given a welcome drink. The room was absolutely amazing for the price (about £10 a night each), the pool was stunning and breakfast service was delicious.

Beautiful gardens and swimming pool.Rooms are excellent and are cleaned every day. We found the front desk staff fine and very happy to help.Thais are quite calm people, I should know I married one so don't think they are being rude.I found the food fine in the morning as you tend to eat out during the evening anyway. If you want peace and quiet and get a good nights sleep here but being close to the action this is perfect. The prices are reasonable compared to hotels of the same calibre in Austra... Lovely hotel in a quiet area of Chiang Mai, very close to everything. Very clean rooms and facilities at a very reasonable price. Staff were very accommodating. We checked out for one night to do a trek, staff looked after our luggage and had it ready for us in our room on our return. Loved every minute of our stay. Don't go to Thailand without a visit to Chiang Mai!
