We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, the breakfast was excellent as was the pool and pool bar. The location was great, right next to the night bazaar and many restaurants/bars and the old city only 1km walk away. The staff were very helpful and polite and even accommodated our request for an extra late checkout. We also booked tours and taxis from the counters in reception which was easy and we had no issues. The only areas for improvement are the slow lifts and t... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights only during a recent visit to the area. The place is very old but generally well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful and most of them speak English reasonably well. Breakfast buffet was extensive including Asian and Western fare. I used the Spa for a treatment. Prices are high, compared to what you can get outside, but service and quality of treatment were excellent.

The Imperial Mae Ping was probably a marvelous hotel in 1970. In many ways it still is a good one. But it is in serious need of updating and remodeling. Almost everything has a "run-down" look and feel. It is surviving on tour bus trade. The three small elevators are inadequate to their task. On the upside, the staff were friendly and location is a good one. On the downside, it is overpriced.

This is my second sty at Imperial Mae Ping, and I love it. The location, the hotel and the staff, including the management are amazing. I really recommend it for your holidays!, the rooms are big and clean. Internet works very good to.

We felt this hotel was much more for business guests than tourists. There was no luxury and the service was less than average. Before arriving at the hotel I emailed to arrange an airport pick-up however I was disappointed that I didn't receive a reply regarding this. We made our own way to the hotel arriving at around 6pm. I explained to the staff member checking us in that I was disappointed regarding the airport pick-up but he didn't understand a word I was saying. Of-course we don't expect... Read more

We stayed 3 nights in the Mae Ping hotel. Room was lovely, the bed was nice and big too. 1 of the 2 pools was unusable though and the usable pool was very small. The sun would also completely be gone from the upper pool by about 4pm though due to the hotel building itself blocking the sun. This wasn't ideal but 4pm is still long enough if you're out early i suppose. The restaurant here is the hotels biggest let down. Its far too over priced and the quality of the food isn't even that good. I pai... Read more

Generally quite welcoming and friendly staff. Well managed and room service calls were handled well. One of the older hotels in Chiang Mai and there is evidence of the age almost everywhere you go. Chips, scratches and decorations look faded. I would suggest extreme refurbishment measures. There are not enough lifts to accommodate the hotel, at times I waited around 10 minutes for the lift to arrive and even then it was packed. To finish on a positive note - the hotel is very well known and th... Read more

We stayed at The Imperial Mae Ping in Oct 2016 for a 4 night stay. The hotel is quite old and all rooms have shower in bathtub which I find very hard to step over. The main pool is lovely with drink and food service with a smaller pool on the 1st floor which does not have steps only a ladder. There are a few restaurants available all very good and ok prices. The buffet breakfast was wonderful everything you could want. The travel desk was great and booked our tour to the golden triangle at a reduced ...
