I'm sure this hotel used to be lovely; however, its age is very apparent as soon as you walk in. I was pretty underwhelmed with my room. The tile in the entryway was discolored and cracked, the grout in the shower was stained in places and missing in others, the decor was faded from too much light, and the light switches were loose. The staff was very friendly. I got in well after 1AM and someone was still available to help me with my bags. The breakfast spread was great. They had Thai, Americ... Read more

The hotel amenities are very adequate and the staff are very helpful. The people in the breakfast area are very cordial. The German chef prepares every morning a extended breakfast buffet. Room size is not enormous but I had space for my luggage and shopping too. The bathroom is quite small and for tall people having a shower could be a feat. As you can read on Tripadvisor this hotel needs an upgrade so don't expect stylish rooms. However, the rooms are clean and comfortabele. Housekeeping is e... Read more

We had an okay stay in the hotel. The biggest complaint was with the bathroom, which didn't drain well in either the shower or the sink (definitely had mold on the walls). The price was not too expensive, however we had better stays in other hotels within Thailand and would likely explore a different option if we were back in Chiang Mai.

The decor in this hotel is dated and it really needs a refresh, this applies to all areas but I felt the bathrooms were particularly dated. The lifts also constantly smell of rice which is weird. Having said that the hotel was spotlessly clean and comfortable. My room was a good size with big windows, one of which opened. Breakfast was the usual buffet - a mix of western and oriental, which was good. The hotel is a short walk from the night market (which is huge) and also from the old town so... Read more

We booked this hotel, because we were staying in a hotel far from the centre, the price was OK and location perfect, I was apprehensive when we read the reviews after we already booked-paid through a different site, so we were jus hoping..... Luckily our experience was very different to what some of the reviews said. The room was located in the 5th floor, very spacious, comfortable and clean and with a big confy bed. We had the room excluding breakfast so we can not comment about it. Yes th... Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, the breakfast was excellent as was the pool and pool bar. The location was great, right next to the night bazaar and many restaurants/bars and the old city only 1km walk away. The staff were very helpful and polite and even accommodated our request for an extra late checkout. We also booked tours and taxis from the counters in reception which was easy and we had no issues. The only areas for improvement are the slow lifts and t... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights only during a recent visit to the area. The place is very old but generally well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful and most of them speak English reasonably well. Breakfast buffet was extensive including Asian and Western fare. I used the Spa for a treatment. Prices are high, compared to what you can get outside, but service and quality of treatment were excellent.

The Imperial Mae Ping was probably a marvelous hotel in 1970. In many ways it still is a good one. But it is in serious need of updating and remodeling. Almost everything has a "run-down" look and feel. It is surviving on tour bus trade. The three small elevators are inadequate to their task. On the upside, the staff were friendly and location is a good one. On the downside, it is overpriced.

This is my second sty at Imperial Mae Ping, and I love it. The location, the hotel and the staff, including the management are amazing. I really recommend it for your holidays!, the rooms are big and clean. Internet works very good to.
